Photo by @babaktafreshi |”Testing out the new astrophotography #EOSRa that Canon lent me. In two decades of nightscape photography I used variety of film and digital cameras. I remember the first #Canon astro-camera 20Da in 2005 and then 60Da in 2012. On my recent trip to New Zealand, under the magnificent southern sky I was testing the new EOS Ra which is both a full frame and ultralight mirrorless. On this evening, on a bird preserved lake 10 miles from Whanganui, the galactic core of the Milky Way in constellations Scorpius and Sagittarius was setting. The parting low clouds, lit by the town, suddenly formed a colorful halo around bright planet Jupiter, while a car headlight on a nearby road created striking rays through a line of eucalyptus trees across the lake. Since I was doing a continuous time-lapse sequence, and using a remote shutter switch, I didn’t miss this unique moment.”
