#CanonExplorerofLight @ricksammonphotography Goes Mirrorless in the High Arctic!
Rick has gone totally mirrorless – with the Canon EOS R – for his travel photography. Most recently, Rick was a guest lecturer/photo instructor aboard a Poseidon Expeditions adventure to the High Arctic, where he photographed the stunning scenery and playful puffins. For his landscape images, Rick used his Canon 16-35mm and 24-105mm IS lenses. For the puffin shots, Rick chose his Canon 100-400 IS lens.
Why did Rick go mirrorless for travel photography? “It’s mainly because of the camera’s electronic viewfinder. All the information I need is there – live histogram, focus point, effect of exposure compensation and more. Sure, the viewfinder combined with the smaller size and lighter weight of the camera are a benefit, but it’s the image quality that, in the end, counts.” – Rick Sammon
