No talking. No faces. Just the sounds of the city and the mountain.

This walk follows the path of Oda Nobunaga, the warlord who chose Gifu as his
base of operations on his way to unify Japan. From Gifu Park to the Great Buddha,
then up Mt. Kinka by ropeway to the reconstructed Gifu Castle on the summit.

― ABOUT THIS WALK ―
Gifu Castle sits on top of Mt. Kinka, 329 meters above the city.
In the 1500s, Oda Nobunaga renamed this place “Gifu” and made it his
headquarters, declaring his ambition to rule all of Japan from here.
The Gifu Great Buddha, finished in 1832, is one of Japan’s three great
Buddhas — its body made of bamboo, clay, and ancient Buddhist scriptures.

A quiet walk through samurai history.
