The town features the Cheongjeong-gung palace, the headquarters of the religion, as well as an education centre, river cruise and the infamous Heaven G burger restaurant.

Have I returned with a Moonie wife? Was I chased out by Unification Church security? Watch and find out in:

  1. Loved the content! Great to see another side of a country and the history! Keep up the great work

  2. I was born in this chufch. You won't find anything scandalous behind closed doors here.

The real scandal is the way it was all funded. Cheong Pyung represents all the excess money, and labor produced by tens of thousands of families, over the course multiple decades.

Money that should have been spent on education, Healthcare, financial security, enrichment, in many cases food. The 1st generation members were labor trafficked and required to spend multiple years living out of vans, fundraising for cash for the church.

At Chung pyung, spiritual indulgences are sold. Here they teach that if your child has mental and physical disabilities, it is the result of evil spirits that can be liberated – for a price.

Here you can purchase the liberation of your ancestors from hell– reccomended going back 430 generations. After they have been liberated, you have the additional obligation to Bless them so that they may become Absolute Good spirits and provide you good fortune.

You are also encouraged to pre-liberate yourself, In the unfortunate circumstances of your death, after dedicating your entire life to this church- you will still require liberation. Best pay for that ahead of time, lest your descendants and next of kin are negligent

It is funded by a monthly tithe, and numerous special donation requests annually. For True Parents Birthday, of course. And their anniversary. And the new year. And the other special requests and providential reasons.

Here you can pay to have the evil spirits literally beaten out of you, in group worship called Ansu where you are slapped by the person behind you, and slap the person in front of you. The harder the better of course

Here thousands of people are indoctrinated in church education camps for periods of 7, 21 and 40 days at a time. It is the ultimate church reeducation camp and if your 2nd generation child is struggling with their faith. This is a good place you can send them

The membership lives in poverty. They have never saved for retirement, having given everything to the church. Every excess they've produced going to this- the construction of marble palaces. Now reliant on the good will and obligation of their children to keep from being themselves homeless.

You won't find anything nefarious here. The people are nice. If you were noticed as an outsider, they probably assumed the spiritual world had guided you here, and that this experience would become part of your journey of "meeting the true parents"

I spit on spiritual extortion. I condemn the practice of selling indulgences. And I mourn the tens of thousands of 2nd and 3rd generation who must choose to remain in the cult, or leave everyone and everything they've ever known.

  3. Moonie here. Nice video and objective tour of Cheongpyeong. Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks!

  4. twice a day in cheongpyeong there is ansu, mass ritual exorcism that requires beating spirits out of body while singing

  5. Oh this was interesting! As a Moonie I've been there 2 times. Last time I was there during the opening of this cafe by the lake. The museum and department store must be brand new. They tore down a huge tower with names of members incribted who donated a large sum to help build all this. In it's place is now a parking for a lavish department store. This feels like a slap in the face to members, who gave away their savings.
On a lighter note: I also ate the heaven G burger and it looks like they are still the same haha

  6. my friend group has so many addictions and mental illnesses and traumas due to this group. i have nothing good to say about it. it ruined us all.

  7. Great tour.! Loved it. I will be there in April for the opening of the Holy Temple. Come back and film again at the opening of the Holy Temple. We will guide you this time.

  8. Idk what to think precisely here…. I started this video putting aside any preconceived notions about this organization as I was also more interested in what you would see on this sort of outsiders view expedition… in the end I also found it odd nobody approached you with invitational intentions… but found it overwhelmingly off-putting by the passive surveillance which actually put very suspicious vibes your way… idk if they felt threatened or deemed you an unworthy demographic to invite a more exclusive hospitality… in the end it felt overtly exclusive if not hostile leaving a eerily almost scary conclusions here…

  9. I was introduced to this cult by one of their organisations called C.A.R.P,I felt it was a cult when I first visited because we were reading a paper each Friday from mr.moon book but i never knew how deep the iceberg went until recently!

  10. Ex moonie here! Left in 2011. I’ve never been thankfully but everyone in my family, most of my friends, and my husband have been. I think the older people love it but anyone in the younger gen who has to go there for a 40 day workshop is miserable. They all have to wear white tshirts and just do ansu for hours which is where you hit yourself all over to break open your spirit and let the bad things out🙄 (all while listening to the same song for hours on end). They also do “ancestor liberation” which is where you pay thousands of dollars to redeem your ancestors souls. To me cheongpyeong just represents all the member’s money wasted by the “true parents” to build palaces and glorify themselves.
