今回は茨城県常陸太田市の、知る人ぞ知る彼岸花の名所、旌桜寺跡を歩きます。じつは旗桜と呼ばれる一本桜のほうが有名なのですが、秋の彼岸花も素晴らしいものです。康安元年（1631年）、この地を治めていた佐竹義篤がこの地に大沢山瑞龍院を建立。境内の桜が大変見事だったことから「旌桜寺」と名付けられたそうです。哀愁漂う独特の雰囲気が楽しめる場所です。
This time, we will be walking around the ruins of Keioji Temple in Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, which is a famous spot for red spider lily flowers that only those in the know know. Actually, the single cherry blossom called Hatazakura is more famous, but the autumn spider lilies are also wonderful. In 1631, Yoshiatsu Satake, who ruled this area, named the temple “Keioji” because the cherry blossoms in the precincts were so beautiful. It is a place where you can enjoy a unique melancholy atmosphere.
