Take a quick walk with me through ひょろげん坂 (Hyorogen-zaka)—a quiet, charming slope tucked inside the Myoo neighborhood of Zama, Kanagawa. Also known as Hyorogenzaka Farm Road, the name of this slope is said to come from the nickname of a tall, lanky man who used to live nearby. On the northwest side of Zama Yatoyama Prefectural Park, the path diagonally connects the park’s mountain and the Myoo lowlands. ひょろげん坂――神奈川県座間市・妙王（みょうおう）地区の中にひっそりと佇む、静かで趣のある坂道を、一緒にさっと歩いてみましょう。
「ひょろげん坂農道」とも呼ばれるこの坂の名は、近くに住んでいた背が高く細身の男性のあだ名に由来するといわれています。
