Driving tour of Yass, a surprising, beautiful and historic town on the Hume Highway
About half way between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway is the town of Yass. Most people probably know Yass for the service centre and infamous McDonald’s sign.
However if detour a bit further you will discover a beautiful, historic and charming town that is not only a good rest stop but also a great place to spend a couple of days to relax.
The Hume Highway used to pass through the town, but it is now bypassed, in it’s place you now have a wide, and charming main street with plenty of restaurants, shops and amenities.
In its early days the town made itself known for its fine wool exports. Nowdays you’ll also be treated to vineyards and fine foods nearby. The town is also an ideal gateway to many other great destinations such as Wee Jasper.

My cousin lives there. It's a nice town. I've stayed at the Thunderbird motel. It was a nice motel. The Australian hotel has beautiful meals.
I've been there a few times but never had the time to look around. I haven't been there for a few years now. Thanks for the video.
