Syria’s MOST DESTROYED City – Is It Safe In 2026? ๐ธ๐พ I S3, EP35
Huge thanks to our friends Mary & Rami, who helped us tremendously while traveling through Syria. If you’d like to support them, or if you’re planning your own trip to Syria and need guidance, check out their website: syrianguides.com
In the last episode, we left Baghdad and continued further west, crossing into Syria. Over the past 12 years, Syria has frequently been in the news, mostly because of war, political unrest, and more recently, the fall of Assad. Now, one year after the new government has taken over, we want to explore this historic country and see what the situation is really like on the ground.
Syria is incredibly diverse, and in this video, we travel across the country from Damascus to Aleppo. Along the way, we visit one of the oldest Christian villages in the world โ Maaloula โ where Aramaic, the language of Jesus, is still spoken today. We then continue to Homs in central Syria, one of the most heavily destroyed cities in the country, make a brief stop in Idlib, often considered Syria’s most conservative city, and finally reach Aleppo, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and, together with Damascus, a key stop along the ancient Silk Road.
Once again, a huge thank you to Rami and Mary. Their knowledge, experience, and local connections allowed us to experience a side of Syria that would not have been possible on our own.
Join us on this journey through the land of civilizations ๐ฌ

Here in India, I learnt Aramaic language, it's amazing how it connects Arabic, Old Persian, other Semitic languages and many Urdu and Hindi words stem from it.
I visited all three villages and found even Muslims there speak the dialects of Aramaic and the love and fraternity between both Christians and Muslims was phenomenal.
This is exactly how everyone in this world should be to heal and bless.
The air, breeze, the food everything there is pure and as real as it can get.
These people are the actual "Arameans" that we read about in the Bible, meanwhile the Assyrians in the North East are a different group which alps speaks Aramaic but are a different ethnic group closer to the ancient Babylon and Chaldean areas.
I pray for every heart in this world from Gaza to Cuba, from Ukraine to Iran, everyone be blessed and feel loved. Amen.
I think a peaceful Middle East is every backpacker's and globetrotter's dream: to be able to travel from one continent to another without crossing a sea or ocean, not to mention the cultural and civilizational potential of this blessed land tormented by the forces of evil. Happy traveling, Yan and Flo, and greetings from Algeria!
Aways enjoy your videos, never disappointed. Excellent quality.
I love the HUMANITY of this Youtube channel…It is sad to see the destructions of war and the effects to innocent people who just wants to live in peace and survive. I'm happy to see Syria slowly getting back to normal and living their lives peacefully. The smile on their faces warms my heart especially the children who will be the future of this beautiful country. May they live in peace and prosperity moving forward. Thank you Yan for bringing us to these beautiful and historical places because even just by watching I feel like I'm being transported there. Have a safe journey always on all your travels with Flo!
Its sad to see all these distractions. Where do all these people stay , the whole place is broken. I don't understand why the rebels destroy the civilian properties instead of the army, parliament n politicians properties.
The 1st hotel is really beautiful. Fee๐l very romantic. Its a real somebody's passion/taste. โคโค
The northern middle east is such a great place. Wonderful people and great food. Is it safe? It depends, if you are asian well then yes. If you are a westerner I would suggest following your countries advice on travel for the region. I am in Jordan and it is a wonderful country with wonderful people. Great video always love your work, keep it up.

Thanks for the video. Sad to see the broken city behind the friendly people. Sometimes, I wonder if belief or religion divides people. Would the world better of if there is no religion? This is another example of regime changing operation by some evil country. Hope no more suffering for these common folks in this country.
Yan, thank you for sharing your trip to Syria; thereโs astonishing history there but itโs highly unlikely, Iโd ever be able to experience it without you:)

Someday the people who chose peace will get the opportunity to live in peace. Thanks for sharing your travels, excellent location and tour. Be well y'all ๐๐ค
It is too expensive for people to live, even here for many. But unacceptable to oppress with such costs for electricity.
I better quit writing ๐ โ๏ธ
Syria,Libya,Afghanistan,Iraq, they were all invaded by The US and Then left it in ruins. America has done nothing for every country it has been to, but make things worse. Praying for these countries to thrive and live peacefully
