Malcesine, Italy – 4K Walking Tour (Lake Garda’s Best Town?)
Malcesine, Italy is a calm little pocket on Lake Garda, and it might just be the most complete town on the whole lake – it has a castle on a cliff, a proper medieval center, a beautiful harbor, and the Monte Baldo towering right behind the village.
We’re on the eastern side of Lake Garda, just north of Bardolino, Lazise, and Garda. From here, ferries connect you to towns acros the lake like Limone sul Garda and Riva del Garda, and you can also follow this shoreline down toward Torri del Benaco.
If you’re curious what a day here actually feels like, this 4K walking tour is exactly that: we begin on the Lungolago, move into the old town past the harbor and Porto Vecchio, spend time around the Scaliger castle and its medieval lanes, head up through Viale dei Cipressi, then board the Monte Baldo cable car for the grand finale: a rotating cabin ride up to the ridge at 1,750 m with views stretching across the whole lake!
