Ada, Kunigami, Okinawa (沖縄県国頭村安田) – Ada Kuina Fureai Park (安田くいなふれあい公園) – Okinawa Rail (山原水鶏)
We paid a visit to Ada Kuina Fureai Park (安田くいなふれあい公園), a facility the exhibits the ecology of the Okinawa rail, a national protected species, and is popular for its panel displays on the ecology of the rail and glass gauges that reproduce their actual habitat, allowing visitors to observe the rail right in front of them. We were glad to have seen “Kuta” (クー太), a male Okinawa rail, for a brief period.
This facility is also known as the Okinawa Rail Ecology Center and Yanbaru Kuina Ecological Exhibition and Learning Facility (ヤンバルクイナ生態展示学習施設 クイナの森).
