Osaka Walk 🇯🇵 From Kitchen Street to Dotonbori | Minami Walking Tour
Hello from Osaka!
In this walking tour, we explore Osaka’s vibrant Minami district — the energetic heart of the city known for its food, shopping, and neon lights.
We begin at Doguyasuji Shotengai, Osaka’s famous kitchenware arcade. Known as part of “Japan’s kitchen,” this street is filled with professional knives, restaurant supplies, and specialty shops like Design Pocket, where you can even learn to make realistic Japanese food replicas.
From there, we take a short walk to Takashimaya Osaka Store in Namba for sushi dinner at Takara Zushi, where the chef prepares the first piece right at your table.
As night falls, we continue through Ebisubashi-suji Shopping Street, passing the statue of Ebisu, and learn about the history of the Dotonbori Canal, originally dug in the early 1600s.
Finally, we arrive at Dotonbori — once Osaka’s premier theater district and now the symbol of the city’s bold, food-loving culture. We pass landmarks like Osaka Shochikuza Theatre, spot Kuidaore Taro, and admire the iconic Glico Running Man Sign glowing above the canal.
From kitchen street to neon reflections on the water, this walk captures the true spirit of Osaka — lively above, peaceful below.
If you enjoy immersive Japan walking tours, food culture, and night city vibes, this Minami route is not to be missed.
