秋田県横手市の「横手の雪まつり」は、約450年の歴史を持つ小正月行事です。
市内には大きなかまくらが並び、小学生たちが中で火鉢を囲み、「はいってたんせ」と声をかけてくれます。
かまくらの中には水神様がまつられ、五穀豊穣や家内安全を祈ります。
夜になるとライトアップされた横手城が雪景色に映え、幻想的な雰囲気に包まれます。
横手南小学校では無数のミニかまくらが並び、やさしい灯りが揺れます。
会場間は無料のシャトルバスで移動でき、訪れた人には甘酒が振る舞われ、心も体も温まる冬の風物詩です。
The Yokote Snow Festival in Yokote City, Akita Prefecture, is a Little New Year event with a history of about 450 years.
Large snow huts line the city streets, where elementary school children gather around braziers inside, inviting visitors with the call, “Come on in!”
The water deity is enshrined inside the snow huts, where people pray for bountiful harvests and household safety.
At night, the illuminated Yokote Castle stands out against the snowy landscape, enveloped in a fantastical atmosphere.
At Yokote Minami Elementary School, countless mini snow huts line the area, their gentle lights flickering softly.
Free shuttle buses connect the venues, and visitors are treated to warm sweet sake, making it a heartwarming winter tradition that warms both body and soul.
