秘境駅【雄信内駅(おのっぷないえき)】大正から100年続いた秘境駅の最期。幌延町7つの秘境駅めぐり・北海道 宗谷本線

雄信内駅は1925年（大正14年）鉄道省天塩線の駅として開業しました。当時は物流の拠点として、駅周辺には木材の切り出しや酪農に従事する人々が集まり、賑わいを見せていました。
1930年（昭和5年）には天塩線が宗谷本線に編入。かつては2面2線の相対式ホームを持ち、貨物側線も備えていました。

1984年（昭和59年）、合理化により無人化。駅周辺の集落も過疎が進み、かつて数十軒あった民家が次々と姿を消していきました。現在の「原野の中に駅舎だけが残る」という秘境駅としての輪郭はこの時期から形成され始めました。

北海道の厳しい積雪と低温に耐えうるよう、急勾配の屋根と堅牢な柱構造が採用されています。

下見板張りの外壁は、長年の紫外線と凍結融解作用によって塗料が剥離し、木材の地肌が露出しています。この「風化」の進み具合は、宗谷地方の過酷な気象環境を物語る物理的な記録とも言えます。
窓枠の一部はアルミサッシに更新されており、無人化後も駅舎としての気密性や維持管理が継続されていた形跡が見て取れます。

この日は時間がなくてタッチアンドゴー的な訪問に終わってしまいました。次回はじっくりと見学できるようにしたいです。

Onoshinnai Station (Onoshinnai Station) – A Tour of Seven Remote Stations in Horonobe Town, Hokkaido

Onoshinnai Station opened in 1925 (Taisho 14) as a station on the Ministry of Railways’ Teshio Line. At the time, it served as a logistics hub, bustling with lumberjacks and dairy farmers.
In 1930 (Showa 5), ​​the Teshio Line was incorporated into the Soya Main Line. It once had two side platforms with two tracks, as well as a freight siding.

In 1984 (Showa 59), the station became unmanned due to rationalization. The surrounding village also became increasingly depopulated, and the dozens of houses that once stood there disappeared one after another. It was during this period that the station’s current profile as a remote station, with only the station building remaining in the wilderness, began to take shape.

The station features a steeply sloped roof and sturdy pillar structure to withstand Hokkaido’s harsh snowfall and low temperatures.
