⁴ᴷ Ehime: Matsuyama City Station (愛媛県: 松山市駅) – Japan Walking Tour (January, 2026)

I’ve decided to take an off-season trip back to my hometown in Kobe, using it as a starting point for a journey all the way around Shikoku. Traveling from Takamatsu through Kochi and around the Ashizuri Peninsula, I’ve now made my way north to Matsuyama City, Ehime.

This walk starts from the Iyo Railway station, takes me through the expansive Gintengai and Okaido shopping arcades, and leads into the heart of the city’s entertainment district. Being a Friday night, the arcades were teeming with life despite the cold. The streets were buzzing with energy as people enjoyed their night out, perfectly capturing the vibrant pulse of a Friday in the city.
