Paddy, you should seriously consider doing a deep dive on Muang Thong Thani. I honestly think it’s one of the most overlooked areas in Bangkok, and nobody has really covered it properly yet.
The place has beautiful lakes, huge open spaces, and a completely different vibe compared to central Bangkok. You’ve got IMPACT Arena, massive exhibition halls, international fairs, concerts, conferences , it’s a whole ecosystem by itself. Plus, it’s home to Muangthong United, one of Thailand’s most successful football clubs, which adds another layer of character to the area.
There’s so much potential for storytelling there, local life, events, expat communities, food spots, hidden corners… I really think your style of exploring would bring this area to life in a way no one else has done yet.
Always enjoy your videos Paddy! How about a bare minimal survival video in Bangkok. The average Thai in Bangkok earns about $650 dollars a month. They rent fan rooms for about $150 a month with a food budget of about 10 dollars a day. Not a dream life but it is possible. Get out in rural Thailand the average income goes down to $300 to $400 a month. This might not be in the mindset of your channel. How about a very different life style video. As a young man I visit Thailand for the nightlife of Nana and Pattaya. Not prowd of it. As I got to know locals I realized the truth and desperation many people feel that drives them into the life of prostitution. Some very sad stories.
Looking for a new area to discover? Well…I think, when recommending an area to non-locals, you may stick close to the public transport. An area, very well connected (BTS, MRT, train) but barely known by name, is Chom Phon, So you may find out, what's going on there – beside of the Chatuchak Weekend Market.
Haha. Now you're getting into my part of town. I recognize the vibe. In neighboring Prawet, the locals all know who I am because it looks like I'm the only white guy in the area. Funny, if I ever do cross paths with another farang, we might nod at best and just carry on. One time, I had a guitar strapped to my back whilst walking back home from the music store. A group of college girls gathered to have a look. I looked back and then they all chanted "We love you." . . . That calmed any culture shock I might have been feeling in the earlier years. Gotta love it. dcb

ฉันเคยอยู่ย่านเขตประเวศ บางนา-รามคำแหง2 เกือบ20ปีที่แล้ว ของราคาถูก ยังไม่แอดอัดและพลุกพล่านมากนัก แต่ฉันได้มีโอกาสกลับไปเที่ยวบาฃนา และนั่งเรือข้ามฟากไปยังตลาดบางน้ำผึ้ง บางกระเจ้าอยู่ และใช่ ตลาดต้นไทร แบริ่ง ราคาอาหารน่าทึ่งมาก เนื้อย่างชิ้นนั่นแค่ 60 บาทหรอ? 😮😮

3:31 more like the other way around. Dogs eat lizards. When I was cycling along a canal in Prawet I once saw a dog holding a live lizard in his mouth. Then another dog snapped at the dog, which caused him to let go and the lizard scurried off into the water.

Interesting!! I just moved to Phrom Phong I love it but a quiet area would be nice when my lease is over. Suggestion : Cheang Wattana area ?
I liked Bang Na but the BTS stopping at midnight and the walking distance to some places limits me.
Every time we are about to head back to the UK, we visit the big shopping mall in Bang Na and have a good day, but never explored the surrounding area. Nice one, Paddy.
