We stayed in Thong Lor 2 years ago and loved it. It's a much more relaxed area. The only issue is that as a tourist I felt we were spending a lot of time travelling to our destinations. We will definitely be coming back though.

Paddy, I just finished the Mekong Tour. Took 3 weeks, drove up from Khao Lak, stopped at Kachanaburi, Sukhothai and Lamphang on the way up. Chiang Kan and Bueng Kan amazing. Tractor tour in Khiri Wongkot Village so much fun. Thanks

Congrats on the condo purchase! As for Thonglor, I love Thonglor, but have never actually stayed in it. I've been back and forth to BKK regularly since the late 1990s, but usually stay in either the PP BTS area (Emporium) or the Rajadamri BTS area. But, I love the vibe in Thonglor and Thonglor has many layers to it which one can experience if one goes deep into it. I never knew that that temple existed.

I’ve been following you from the very beginning, from the time you were just one guy, honestly scared but brave enough to start a YouTube journey with a very small budget and almost no savings, to the man you are today. Getting married this year, buying an apartment in Thong Lor, wearing a Rolex and branded clothes, it genuinely makes me happy to see how far you’ve come.
It’s been an honor to watch your entire process because it reminds me a lot of myself many years ago. Seeing someone grow in real time like this is truly inspiring.
If I may add one small comment, purely from experience. Regarding your new apartment, since it’s an older building, I think it might have been helpful to get a third opinion from people who have already gone through that exact process and to consult with them. This comes from someone who has lived in Thailand for 25 years and has purchased six apartments so far.

Aww nice work mate, Youll love it in Thong Lo! Much like a lot of Bangkok its a maze of hidden secrets, cafes, bars, restaurants but also not forgetting its old skool Bangkok vibes. So many great authentic food spots there as well. You and Gary are going to have a blast walking those street finding the newest 'Hot Spots' 🙂

Thong Lor, after asking quite a few Thai friends, has apparently the best Mango Sticky rice in Bangkok. It's a shop called 'Khao Neaw Mamuang'. As soon as you come off the Skytrain from the Asok direction, at the bottom of the Skytrain stairs, turn around, then head to the main junction, turn left, and it's the first shop on your left. You can see it in your video at 30:21 (a red and white striped canopy) There's always a queue, it's pretty famous in Bangkok. Enjoy!

I was in Bangkok during Christmas and New Year 2026. I prefer Sathorn, Silom and Chitlom. Thongl Lor feels like a suburb of Bangkok and it is too far from the centre of Bangkok.
How beautiful is Wat Pha Si. What a magic find. Patom looks great with lovely gardens. You both will have such joy living there.
