Hi Kenchan, any plans for making some more videos about Kyushuu? I understand its far away from your home and might be expensive to visit, but I feel like it will become a more popular place to see for many due to all of the overtourism in the "main" cities.
Thank you for watching! Have you used HND before? Please let me know how long it took to go though the immigration and custom. 🙂
Awesome vid Kenchan. I've been through Haneda many many times but I didn't know some of your highlights. (^.-)
The length of lines (wait time) for immigration and customs can vary widely. I've waiting HOURS in line on some visits, while on others I was able to zip through the "maze".
Recommend using Visit Japan Web to get your QR Code before you depart home. You show it once at immigration (an officer's station) and then again at a kiosk near baggage claim. MANY miss the second scan (kiosk). Best to do it while waiting for bags to arrive (get it out of the way). As you join the line to exit, a sensor will detect your face and a green box will surround you (on the monitor facing you in the queue)… but only IF you have done both scans. Otherwise, you will be taken out of line and directed to complete the second scan at a nearby kiosk (and back to the end of the line you will go). (>.<)
A very informative video, thank you for sharing 👍
One more suggestion. (^.^) Changing money. A couple of things to consider… (1) sometimes the rate posted is nice but there will be a "service fee" added to the transaction. This isn't them cheating you. It's just understood that the business of changing money has a price. But many don't realize that service fee was going to be applied and, ultimately, the money they get is no better than any other exchange. (>.<) Which brings me to (2). The exchange rates are very similar in Japan. SO… ask yourself if it is worth spending TIME hunting for a good rate of exchange or just getting cash and beginning your fun. (^.-) Your decision, but something you may want to consider. Personally, I like to get the money quickly and get on with my adventure.
Thanks for the helpful guide. I prefer Haneda to Narita. I used the Visit Japan Web, and it took around 15 minutes or so.
Such a helpful video! Hoping to visit later this year and have been looking at different accommodations. I’ve been interested in staying in Ginza and it’s great to see how close it is to Haneda. Its so convenient and taking a taxi to the hotel would be an easy option. Nice! ☺️🌸
Konbanwa Kenchan san
I've departed 3 times from HND.
❤
excellent video and super excited for mobile Suica, though I still may get a physical card since I like tangible things too.
Nice video, thank you! My recommendation for getting cash is the 7-11 ATM's. The fees are low and the exchange rates are very good. Just bring your bank ATM card. 7-11 ATM's are easy to use and multiple languages are available on the ATM's.. Information only: March, 2024 I took a cab from Tokyo station to Haneda airport, cost was 8,500 yen. Train costs about 700 yen. If your arriving on ANA international flight, and are transfering to a domestic flight, check your arrival terminal on the ANA website. Most ANA Hanada international flights arrive in terminal 3, but a few use terminal 2. Take care everyone!
Great info. Some things have changed since I was there last. Hopefully getting back to Japan this year
I am so thankful for videos like this. When I got out of immigration after a 15 hour flight I was delirious, but having watched so many "your first hour" videos, I walked right to where I needed to go without thinking about it. Also had the QR code from Visit Japan Web and there were a handful of people at the kiosks while the regular immigration line had a half hour wait, so I was done in a few minutes. Thank you again, Kenchan!
A great overview and intro to Haneda Ken san. I particularly enjoyed the viewing deck when we had a few hours lay over on our last trip. But completely missed the onsen!! I will find that next trip
Very informative video! I have not used HND yet, only NRT so far.. I’m interested to visit HND, appreciate it, and might even do some plane spotting from there someday. Thank you for sharing this one
Very timely and informative video. I will be arriving at HND on Monday evening. Last year, I departed from HND so we'll see what the arrival is like. I have my mobile Suica. I used it last time and found it very convenient for subway and konbini. I believe that I can take the Keikyu Line direct to Sengakuji station from HND.
Last time I travelled to Tokyo I landed at HND. And I had to go to Ginza. I remember I took the KK line and I was a bit confused because half way the train changed his name but on Google Maps it said stay on the same train haha but overall very convenient. Thank you for this helpful and great video as usual Kengo San ;))
Hi! Thanks for the video!
I want to take the keikyu train to go to shinagawa and pay with my credit card. And from there take the shinkansen in that case there wouldn’t be a problem right? Thanks in advance for the response
I have a credit card from my bank that charges me zero fees for withdrawing cash abroad. On previous trips to Japan, I brought a lot of cash. But returning in 2025 after 7 years away, Japan has become contactless in many places. So I will need much less cash in advance, and I can use the ATM if I need more.
On our last trip from Haneda we got to our hotel in Shinjuku without even looking at a map as it was so easy
thank you. I'll be going to yokohama from HND next month
Somebody tell me what I do next time to avoid this. I flew ANA from US to Haneda and soon after arrival ended up on a 15 minute bus ride that took us to another terminal it was incredibly boring there waiting for the next flight. Where do I get the Narita like experience?
I still remember when Haneda was the only airport that serviced Tokyo.
このビデオがヤバよ!!
しつもんがあります… we need to send our big suitcases from HND to Saitama, like you showed in video, so how much do think it costs for each normal largest size suitcase(157cm) with cheapest options, no hurry(doesn’t need to arrive same or next day)…?? And, WHICH company should I use, which do you recommend , as I saw several companies in this video…? どうもありがとうございます、よろしくお願いします!
Thanks. We fly in 6 weeks and are arriving at Haneda for the first time. Last time we landed in Narita.
Very informative and useful information. Two of us will be flying from U.S.A. to Haneda Airport and staying at a hotel near Ueno Station. Only have carry on luggage. What is best way to go from Haneda Airport to Ueno Station by train or. Monorail?. We will purchase tourist IC card. Thank you for recommendation..
25+ trips in and we’re still learning! Love the pro tips. We're doing an NRT-HND open-jaw this March before heading to Hawaii—so excited to be back at Haneda. We’ve really embraced the 'light and digital' life lately: strictly backpacks for 18 days and relying almost exclusively on our mobile IC cards.
