When Japan Turns Rural: Evening Walk in Hanno, Saitama | 4K
📍 Hanno Walk – River Light, Rural Paths, and Temples at Dusk | 4K
Hello Walkers,
This walk takes place in Hanno, a small town in western Saitama where the boundary between city and countryside feels thin and easily crossed. Starting near the station, the route moves through ordinary streets, quiet shops, and residential blocks that gradually loosen their urban rhythm.
Following the flow toward the Iruma River, the walk opens into wider space. Crossing the river and its bridges, the scenery changes quickly—water, trees, and the smell of fresh wood carried in the air. As the sun lowers, light filters through the landscape, revealing a rural side of Japan that feels unplanned and lived-in rather than preserved.
After passing Iwane Bridge, the path leads toward Nonin-ji Temple, set quietly against the surrounding greenery. With no crowds and no ceremony, the temple grounds offer a moment of stillness, marked only by footsteps and wind. From there, the walk continues back through town, drifting naturally toward Hachiman Shrine and later Kōto-ji Temple.
The walk concludes near sunset, as the day fades behind the temple grounds. Monk chants echo softly in the background, blending with evening light and closing the walk without urgency—just sound, shadow, and calm.

Is this area suburb? Quiet and safe environment, I reckon.
Plenty of greenery and sunshine.
The town is well maintained and no trash was thrown
Barely see the traffic nor crowds.
Thank you for sharing. long walk about 120 mins is appreciated.
