チベットの旅 – 旅行ドキュメンタリー
Tibet is one of the world’s most mysterious and fascinating travel destinations. It has evoked the imagination of many travelers throughout the centuries, in part due to its inaccessibility and isolation. For those that make it here, they find a land of beautiful landscapes, overwhelming religious devotion, delicious food, and friendly, welcoming people.
In this video, I explore the spiritual side of Tibet, traveling to four different regions of the Tibetan world, between 2010 and 2019. From the imposing Labrang monastery in China to the residence of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan government in exile in India. And from the communities of Tibetan refugees in Nepal to the highlands of Lhasa and Tibet, today also known as the ‘Tibetan Autonmous Region’.
Tibet has had a tumultuous history, and Tibetans in general never had it easy. Yet, despite the challenges they have managed to retain much of their culture. Much has been written about the Tibetan issue, and it’s a good idea to learn more about its history.

Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:
Our first encounter with the Tibetan world is in Xiahe, a small village nestled in the mountains of Gansu province in China. Despite the challenges of modernization and Chinese influence, the town remains a deeply spiritual place. The main focus of Xiahe is the massive Labrang monastery, one of the most important outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region. This is where we find monks and pilgrims making traditional kora, turning prayer wheels and whispering mantras.
We continue our journey in Dharamsala, located in the mountains of Himachal Pradesh in India. Here we attend a public teaching lesson of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. Dharamsala is also home to a large community of Tibetan refugees, and it’s easy to spend a few days here learning about Tibetan culture and eating traditional food.
The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, is also home to a large population of Tibetan refugees. Many of them live around the imposing Boudhanath stupa, which in itself is a highlight for many travelers and pilgrims. Some of the gompas, or monasteries in this area are also open to visitors.
We end our travels in ‘Tibet proper’, where we have a chance to visit Lhasa, the capital and spiritual heartland of Tibet. Although foreign travelers can only visit Lhasa and Tibet on a guided tour, we are able to explore parts of Lhasa and a few more places in Tibet, including Shigatse and Mount Everest Basecamp.
On this final part of the journey, we get a deeper understanding of Tibetan life and culture, as we take a look the Potala Palace, the incredible neighborhood of Barkhor, and three of the most important Buddhistic monasteries and universities. And along the way, we traverse spectacular landscapes of mountains, glaciers, and frozen lakes.

Let me use to opportunity to bring awareness to the oppression of Tibetans. No, I am not talking about the Tibetans in China. I am talking about Tibetans in occupied South Tibet, which was annexed by India in 1951 and made a state by India in 1987 to become the so-called Arunachal Pradesh. South Tibet includes Tawang, birthplace of the Sixth Dalai Lama and home to the four hundred years old Tawang Monastery. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are fast becoming strangers in their own native homeland because the Indian government are settling Indians in the region to change the demographic structure of the region. The Indians like to mock them, calling them Chinese as a form of insult (sometime calling them names such as the C* word or the M* word.) Rape by Indians in occupied South Tibet is a major source of resentment of the locals to the Indian occupiers. Another thing is that India simply don't trust the locals and like to accuse them of being Chinese spy if they don't display enough loyalty to the Indian occupier. This area is tightly controlled by India with limited access to the outside world. In 2014 a Tibetan Chinese called Nido Tania went to Delhi and was beaten to death because he looked 'Chinese'. He case was hardly an isolated one. Today a law called the AFSPA (Armed Force Special Power Act) is imposed on South Tibet. AFSPA gives the state the power to detain or killed anyone with impunity. No due process is needed. AFSPA is imposed on area India deemed restless, such as South Tibet and Kashmir. It is a law meant to suppress dissent and instill fear among the populace. The Tibetans in occupied South Tibet are voiceless people because they are not the right kind of Tibetans, so their plight is ignored by the world at large. I have yet to hear from the Western media of any concern of the human rights abuse of the Tibetans in occupied South Tibet by India.
Free South Tibet from India.
PS. I used the term Tibetans as an umbrella term to describe the indigenous people in South Tibet, which includes the Monpa and the Lhoba (called Apatani in India occupied South Tibet).
Free southern Tibet. Form India
Nice one and very informative
Compared to those cities. Obviously we can see in China they live a better life, see the infrastructure the road and the building. Ask them if they want to be an Indian and eat by hand? Which hand I forgot
No Tibet video is free from Chinese bots lol
No Tibet video is free from Chinese bots lol
Mesmerizing.
Very nice ❤❤
Freedom for Uyghurs, Hong Kongers, Manchuria and Tibet 👏👏👏
I lived in Lhasa, Tibet for ten years. Foreign visitors appreciate visiting places and communicating with Tibetans.
Beautiful documentary. Lovely travel destinations. Beautiful photography. Thanks❤
Beautiful 😍
China has built its power by suppressing others, and its control over Tibet shows its true expansionist nature.
Tibet is not China. Do not include it under China.
So Tibet looks richer and cleaner than Kathmandu and Dharamsala
Tibet should have the right to be a country that is not China
Nice short travel documentary. Thank you
Tibet was never part of china, its just a neighbouring nation with whom we shared some of our interest and mao knowingly took that advantage and told world that it belonged to them from quing dynasty which is ridiculous. Tibet has its own history dating back to 127 AD and if not 1st Dalai Lama from 1600
