Camino Via de la Plata or silver route owes its origins to a network of Roman roads that crosses the west of Spain from south to north linking two important Roman cities Merida and Astorga to join the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela around 500 kms.
Passing through some amazing cities, Caceres known as the monumental city with its Roman walls and palaces. Salamanca known as the golden city of a thousand legends with its stunning Plaza Mallor and oldest university in Europe. Zamora on the Duero River is the city with the most Romanesque churches in Europe to Astorga its Roman walls, Gothic Cathedral and Gaudis Palace.

  1. This is my favorite video so far of this trip of yours. It definitely makes me consider walking the Camino Via de la Plata, as well as walking the Camino Frances again.
