Pitian Village is a small mountain settlement built during the Southern Song Dynasty, hidden halfway up the hills of rural China.
Ancient trees still surround the old stone paths, but today only a few elderly residents remain. Many younger people have left.
In recent years, a few houses have been turned into guesthouses and farm stays, bringing some temporary life back to the village. But many old homes are still abandoned, slowly collapsing beside the road.
Walking through Pitian feels like stepping into a place caught between revival and disappearance. In a few decades, villages like this may no longer exist.
This is a quiet walking tour through one of China’s slowly vanishing rural communities.
平田村是一座始建于南宋时期的半山腰古村，隐藏在群山之间，古树参天，村道仍然保留着古老的痕迹。
如今，村里大多数年轻人已经外出，只剩下一些老人继续在这里生活。
近年来，随着农家乐和民宿的兴起，部分老房子被改造成住宿和餐饮，给这个半空心的村庄带来了一点生机。但依然有很多老屋被废弃，慢慢倒塌在村道两旁。
走在平田村中，能明显感受到它正处在“复苏”和“消失”之间。也许再过二三十年，这样的村子将会从现实中消失。
这是一段关于中国正在消失的山村的安静徒步记录。
