Hidden among rolling hills and mountain meadows, Breb is known for its centuries-old wooden houses, many built in the 18th and 19th centuries, using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Hand-carved wooden gates, barns, haystacks, and narrow village lanes create a landscape that feels almost untouched by modern life.
🏡 What makes Breb truly special is that it’s not an open-air museum, but a living village. People still work the land, animals freely walk through the streets, and daily life follows the rhythm of the seasons. This authenticity is one of the reasons why King Charles III owns several traditional houses here and has long supported the preservation of Maramureș heritage and rural architecture in this part of Transylvania.

Dieses Dorf ist nicht in der Zeit stehen geblieben, es hat sich an unsere Zeit angepasst und modernisiert, ich war in diesem Dorf in den Jahren 75 und 80 , da war eine bittere Armut, zerfallene Häuser, schlechte Straßen aber sehr freundliche und nette Menschen, ich komme aus Rumänien aus Temeswar, bin seit 40 Jahren weggezogen, haben aber damals wunderschöne Urlaube in diesem wunderschönen Land gemacht, unter anderem auch in Breb , und was sie hier jetzt zeigen ist ein großer unterschied zu damals und das freut mich sehr, ich denke immer gerne zurück an diese schöne Zeit, es ist ein wunderschönes Land mit liebenswerten Menschen, danke für das Video und liebe Grüße 🙏♥️🙋♀️
