⁴ᴷ Nara: Yamato Takada Station (奈良県: 大和高田駅) – Japan Walking Tour (December, 2025)
Walking Through Yamatotakada, Nara: Showa-Era Streets and Quiet Arcades
Although I originally wanted to head toward the Tohoku region, recent news about bear sightings made me change my route and travel west instead. The final destination of this journey is Okayama Prefecture.
After passing through Okayama, Hyogo, and Osaka, I arrived back in Nara Prefecture. This time, I explored Yamatotakada City, a town where traces of the Showa era still remain.
I started my walk from Yamatotakada Station, passed through the area around Takada Station, continued on to Takadashi Station, and then looped back to Yamatotakada Station.
Near Takada Station, there’s a small but atmospheric shopping arcade. Another charming arcade can also be found in front of Takadashi Station. Although the two areas are a bit apart, I enjoyed walking between them and soaking in the nostalgic streetscape.
