Join us in Sakata, Japan, a historic port city on the Sea of Japan in Yamagata Prefecture. With only a short time ashore due to the cruise schedule, we set out on our own to explore three iconic sites that capture Sakata’s spirit.
From the Homma Museum’s intricate woodblock printing plates to the sprawling Sankyo Rice Warehouses and the streets shaped by centuries of trade, Sakata offered us history, culture, and resilience in just a couple of kilometers.
