Japan Walk / 4K
Walking in the suburbs of Tokyo Current location: Machida City, Tokyo I wonder if this area is a rural mountain area. I googled the definition of Satoyama but I don’t really get it. Is it something like this? Your subscription is the beginning of a journey. Let’s go to a new view. I’m not a suspicious person. Jizo Hall There is a restaurant called Sobadokoro Kawasaki up ahead. Is that a baseball field up ahead? Areas with traffic restrictions from the evening This area is clearly a flat area created by the river. This is the Amefuri Assembly Hall. For some reason, there was a Christian symbol on Google Maps, but it’s actually quite ordinary. Places like this were probably originally rice paddies. Ontake Shrine There are quite a few buses. There are a lot of universities in the area, so they must be on the way. This is Sakai River. We arrived at Otodo Kannon-do, built in 1596. It’s a playground for local children. It is tightly enclosed by a fence. The Bato Kannon and Rokujizo statues here are said to be the oldest in Machida. I guess they were guarding it because kids were playing there. They were probably getting hit by balls or something. It was cloudy. I came out because they said it would be sunny today, but it was a mistake. This area is near Hosei University, so there are a lot of apartments. This is Otodo Kumano Shrine. It’s too overgrown with grass so you can’t get too close. Abandoned farmland. Overgrown with grass. There’s a deep hole dug. What are you going to bury there? The terrain looks soft. It looks like it will collapse easily. There is Aihara Sengen Shrine above, but I wonder if it’s okay to climb it. We are building a unique house. Walking along Machida Kaido. In front of the Yagi Jukichi Memorial Museum Yeah. I don’t know. Who is it? I googled it and it seems he was a poet who died at the age of 29. According to Google Maps, there are two small shrines behind this place, but I wonder how to get there. Let’s give up There is a seated statue of Kokachu Bodhisattva at the stonemason’s shop. We arrived at Ooto Yakumo Shrine. This is the Shinryo Kannon Hall Ooto Bayashi (Machida City Intangible Folk Cultural Property), the festival one. It’s a pretty steep staircase You can get a panoramic view of the terrain carved out by the Sakai River. That’s all for today. Thank you for watching.
