7人の子供たちとハロン湾へ | カヤック、サル、雨、そして水上村
Today we went on our first boat cruise as a family ever. And honestly, this turned into one of the best days we’ve had in Vietnam so far. [laughter] >> The boy family. >> Good morning. It is 6:45 in the morning. We are right outside of school here. So, it’s super busy right now. And we are heading to a day cruise on how long days. So, kind of excited. Everybody’s a little bit tired. >> No, I’m not. >> You’re not? >> Okay. They’re only half tired, but we’re excited cuz it’s going to be super fun. You’re not half tired. >> Are you tired, Jesse? >> All right. Here we go. We booked this Halong and Lana Bay day cruise last minute through Get Your Guide. It was super easy, all on the app and they handled everything. Pickup, boat, food, activities, all of it. >> All right, Levi, go careful. Okay, >> go. Go with Toby. >> We took an early morning taxi ride to a boat dock where we split up into two groups and hopped onto speedboats that took us to Catba Island. >> [music] >> This is so fun. [music] >> [music] >> Wow, that’s so big. >> Wow. [music] Our [music] cruise left from Kappa, but once we were on the island, I was really wishing we had more time to explore the island itself. It was beautiful with hiking and cave exploring and small villages everywhere. >> When we arrived at the marina, we were greeted by Ryan, our guide for the day, who spoke amazing English and had the best energy, which is exactly what you want from a guide who you will be spending the whole day with. >> Here we go. >> Ready? Ready? >> Here we go. >> Get my soda. >> Okay. >> Wait to get there, but also more than an hour on the kayak. >> Holding the rail. >> Hold the rail. What? >> Where’s my balloon? [music] >> [music] >> One more really. [music] >> I love monkeys. >> You love monkeys. Is that the first time you got to see a monkey in real life? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Was that so cool? [music] My mother, [music] right? [music] [music] Our [music] first big activity was kayaking. >> They dropped us into the water right in the middle of these massive cliffs and we paddled straight into caves carved through the rock. It felt unreal. I was a bit nervous with all of us being split up into separate kayaks, but everyone did great and had so much fun. >> [music] >> We saw the monkeys again, Emily. >> Oh, she see monkeys. >> See them? >> That’s also where we saw the monkeys. Unfortunately, I brought the GoPro for the kayaking. And if it has a zoom feature, I haven’t figured it out yet. So, you’ll just have to trust me that they’re there. They were climbing all up in the trees. Totally wild and completely unbothered by us. Our whole group just paused and watched quietly. The baby monkeys actually have blonde hair. Crazy. Hey, Hey, [music] hey, hey. >> [music] >> Heat. Heat. [music] when we were going in the cave. >> Yeah, the cave was awesome. Did you see Did you guys get to see bats? >> I didn’t see any. >> I didn’t I didn’t see any either. >> I couldn’t see. >> Yeah, but it was still fun. Hey. >> Yes. >> And I got I said this one. I got to paddle clips. >> Yeah. Yeah, >> that’s awesome. >> Levi, I like I gave Levi the paddle and then like one minute later he gave it back. [laughter] >> All right. Do you want me to carry your life jacket on? >> Yeah. >> Then you can go. But I don’t want you to trip on the strings. >> Back on the boat, they served lunch. [music] And not just a snack, like a fullon hot Vietnamese meal with spring rolls, fish, rice, everything. It was seriously the best meal we’ve had in Vietnam so far, and we’re still talking about it weeks later. [music] >> There’s just so much here. >> Yeah, >> is it good? >> You can use your fingers. >> Uhoh. This is [laughter] like a little spicy. Is that the chili sauce? I’m sorry. >> Well, yeah. Actually, they’re not really spicy. I mean, yeah, with us. Yeah. I don’t know how you feel. >> Yeah. The light. Yeah. >> As we started heading to our next stop, the rain rolled in. It wasn’t cold. It was a warm tropical rain. [music] >> [music] >> And instead of hiding inside, most of the group hung out on the deck [music] and just let it rain. Well, I mean, in my life on the water, I saw only one pan of whale. Only one pan in my life saw a whale. But yeah, the walls will have dolphins around here, too, guys. >> Not nice island, though. The rain cleared up just in time as we arrived at this tiny little beach in the middle of the bay, surrounded by cliffs on every side. >> Hey you guys. >> Do it. [laughter] Do it. >> Hey y’all. >> Hey you guys. [laughter] Okay, go. >> You got this, [music] baby. You got this. >> Let them go. >> Beth’s going to jump in >> towards us. [laughter] >> Because the boat couldn’t get too close to the beach, we all had to swim. And every one [music] of our kids swam the whole way. Go. Go where dad is. Go where dad is. >> There you go. Go swim with life jackets, of course. But still, it was a workout. Toby was the only one who didn’t swim to the beach cuz he ended up cutting his hand while helping a kid climb back onto the boat, but he was pretty sorry he missed out. Thankfully, just before that, he got to be the first one to jump off the boat, so he did get to have some fun. Can you imagine having a whole beach to yourself? No buildings, no roads, just water, sand, and rocks. >> Okay. Is it aiming in my way? >> Yeah. Can you see yourself? >> Yes. [laughter] >> Can I put it on right now? Ready? Watch this. Ready? [music] of us on the bar. >> Watching Michael and Toby jump off the boat was fun, but watching Bethany build up the nerve to do it herself made me so proud. >> Float away. >> You think you can do it? >> You leave, we’ll see you in Malaysia like on the corner. All right, >> I’m not going to >> You can do it. >> We’ll see you later. >> Good job. [laughter] >> You’re supposed to plug it. >> Emmy, how about you? >> I [laughter] didn’t have time. That’s a lot. >> I before you plug your nose. >> So weird. >> I didn’t think you’d go that bad. >> Those are the moments you remember forever as a parent. Don’t fish off the boat. Just use the latches on the boat. >> Later, we visited a floating fish hatchery [music] that supplies fish to the nearby floating villages. >> You see that? Oh, no. Not that one. >> That was an experience all its own as we balanced with all our kids on the planks between the fish pools while our guide told us which ones would bite our toes or fingers off if we fell in. >> Um, so right here. Yeah, she’s right underneath you on the corner. I think you might be hitting that one just right next to you. Yep. That one. >> Yeah. >> You’re going to be like crushing it. >> You got [music] your chug in the middle. >> Go like that. [laughter] >> The kids got to take turns feeding the fish, still balancing on the planks as they got splashed by the hungry fish fighting for scraps. [laughter] Come on. Here we go. [music] >> [music] >> Lastly, we cruised slowly [music] through a real floating village. Homes, boats, everything just drifting on [music] the bay. >> Want to see my house in it? Yeah, >> our guide grew up in the floating village we went through. So, [music] his insight into what it was like to live on the water was amazing and so eye opening. He encouraged us to ask any questions we had to get a better idea of what life is like for the people that live there and make a living on the water. [music] Seeing how people actually live out there is one of the biggest reasons we travel with our kids. >> So, even found the clams [music] or found the fish, we’re not going to make any money for the first couple of years. Where are the movies? >> Today was one of those days that reminds you why you travel. >> Not just for the places, but for the way your kids experience it. The fear. >> Go. Go where dad is. Go where dad is. >> Confidence. >> Joy, exhaustion, excitement. and so much learning all in one day. If you’re coming to Vietnam and even thinking about Halong Orlando or Lana Bay, [music] we honestly couldn’t recommend this kind of day tour more. It was so down to earth and so personal. And if you want to make it easy, we’ll drop our get your guide link in the description. It’s still only our second [music] week in Vietnam and we’ve had so many crazy experiences. We hope you’ll come back and see what else we get up to in the next couple of months as we explore more of Southeast Asia. Thanks for coming along with us. We’ll see you next week.
This day in Ha Long Bay with our 7 kids is one we will never forget. From kayaking through caves and spotting wild monkeys, to swimming at a hidden beach, letting the kids jump off the boat, getting caught in a warm afternoon rain, and cruising through a real floating village — this was a day for the books!
We even visited a floating fish hatchery that supplies fish to the villages nearby, which was the most educational part of the day.
We booked our Ha Long Bay day cruise through GetYourGuide, and it made everything super simple — transportation, food, activities, all in one place. If you’re planning a trip and want to book an unforgettable experience like this, you can download the GetYourGuide app using the link in our description and find tours just like this for your next adventure.
If you’re traveling Vietnam with kids, planning a Ha Long Bay day cruise, or just love real-life family travel, this one’s for you.

Hello there Boyd family, this was a beautiful family adventure to watch. You all seemed so calm and happy. So nice to see this. I'm sure you will have many more awesome and amazing adventure days there in Vietnam. Family, food, fun… What could be better than that? Not much. Your lunch on the boat looked delicious! I'm sure it was so tasty 😋 🤤. I hope Toby's hand feels better soon for the rest of you and your family's adventures. What a wonderful life to learn and educate yourselves. Now this is what homeschooling life is all about. Homeschooling at its best. Continue to enjoy one another, be careful and stay safe out there,

Wow this is Amazing your beautiful family travels together to visit Vietnam
とてもワクワクする、冒険に満ちた動画でした✨👍
見ていてとても楽しかったです🌈
Nice Video!👍232
This is a cool family excursion in VN. The larger group tour/cruise boats don't stop at fishing village like yours. Our kids loved Ha Long Bay as well. They were blown away by the unique beauty of Ha Long Bay. We caught our screen and technology addicted teenage children sitting on our cruise boat cabin's balcony staring out into the bay in complete silence for a good 10-15 minutes straight, just taking in the beauty. Take care and safe travel.

Welcome to Vietnam ✌️🫰❤️
Thanks for sharing.
How lucky you were. Cat Ba langur is one of the rarest primate species on Earth. They can drink salt water and only have 90 individuals remain.
Love your family's journey and I'm very glad to see you guys enjoy yourself in Việt Nam. My family too has visited Quảng Ninh province twice this year and I have to say Quảng Ninh has it all, from the breathtaking ocean with caves (like Hạ Long Bay) to the high mountains up North that you can take a great hike together as a family. If you ever have the chance, there are these few places that my family had gone this year and I would very much love to recommend to you:
1. Yên Tử: This is not only a mountain but also a very famous compound of Buddhist pagodas, Vietnamese people often come here during Lunar New Year as it serves as a spiritual journey, but if you're not religious then you can come anytime and Yên Tử can simply serve as a landscape and cultural trip with great scenery and Buddhist architecture. And the highlight of this is the hike! It is literally a test for your stamina, the mountain itself rises 1068m above sea level and you will climb all the way up to the top with your own two feet, except there are 2 cable cars routes to help but all in all you will have to do a lot of hiking and trust me it is challenging and super tiring but also when you reach the top, you will have the sense of accomplishment and it is worth it. (That being said, it is beyond me how monks in the past could hike through the wild terrain of jungle and steep mountains and managed to build pagodas that up high!)
Yên Tử I think is very family friendly as you can find the accommodations right at the foot of the mountain, the rooms are very lovely too, the surrounding is very beautifully decorated as well.
2. Vân Đồn sea: Vân Đồn is a special administrative region of Quảng Ninh province. This region is more relaxed and less touristy than Hạ Long city and it includes many smaller islands so you can choose to do island hoping. For my family though, we visited here last month but we only stayed for 1 night before heading to another destination, initially we didn't expect much from Vân Đồn but turned out we enjoyed it greatly, on the way from Hạ Long city to Vân Đồn you will pass through many bridges that go over the oceans and the scenery is just very beautiful, the water is a clear light blue shade and I just felt content watching out the window during the drive like that. Another highlight for me is the highway Vân Đồn – Móng Cái (we had to take this route to get to another destination that is gonna be my 3rd recommendation), we had to go very early, at dawn and bless us, the scenery at that time was simply magical, the highway itself passes over the ocean, so imagine when the sun is about to rise, casting a deep red/purple hue over the horizion and that light reflects on the ocean as we pass, I have never seen such a breathtaking view like that on a highway before. And when we returned on the same route at noon we could see clearly how we were driving through the light blue sea, there are parts filled with green mangrove forests that connect the land and the sea as well. Honestly I would pay just to be able to go on that route again.
3. Dinosaur Backbone – Border mark 1305 (1305m above sea water): This is the final destination that I have just mentioned above. So as the name suggests, yes it's another hike. So this place is famous for its mountain range that the higher you go the better you can see that it resembles the shape of a dinosaur backbone, hence the name; also people often come here in late autumn to be able to capture the scenery filled with reeds, that's why my family went last month, it was reed season. So this destination is in Bình Liêu, which is a mountainous border district in northeastern Quảng Ninh Province, near the China border so to get here we actually have to take the border patrol route, it's very interesting. This hike has no cable car, 100% on your feet, when you managed to climb to the top, which takes approximately 2000 stairs (but I think it should be more), and see the panorama view of the dinosaur backbone, you will go on following a trail leading to the Border mark 1305 and just on the other side of the fence there, it is China. For our family this was a very challenging but in the end it felt very rewarding as we didn't give up half way.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask me, I really love to share our travelling journey together! Wish you all a great day~
❤
You should visit Da Nang; I've seen many foreigners move there to live.
