Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto (熊本県人吉市) Ryokan Suiranrou (旅館 翠嵐楼) Luxury Japanese-Western Room (ラグジュアリー和洋室)
Dan Suando in Kumamoto Prefecture uh in an area called Hitoshi and uh there’s a onen area called Hitoshi Onsen and this is where Dokan Suandro is located. Um, Hitoi Onsen uh was founded in 19 10. That was when it was discovered. And um in fact, this place is the one that found the hotring source. And and then from there, the onen culture in this area started to flourish. So to the point where now there are over 50 onsen sources in the entire country. Uh not country in in Hitohi onen sorry. Um so this is the luxury Japanese western room. You can see there’s the typical yucata robe and the samo and a basket when you go bathing. So this uh Suando uh was founded in 1910 and uh there’s 30 rooms. Uh this is the luxury Japanese western room which has 86 square meters of living space. Uh it’s the highest category room in the property uh of which there’s two designated as a luxury Japanese western room uh with this one being one of them. So let me see. So 30 rooms uh prolific onsen. There’s three different types of onsen here uh from different sources that they have pulled from on site. And uh so I don’t know about all rooms, but first of all, not all rooms have onsen. So if if that’s a priority for you, then make sure you book a room with a onsen bath of which obviously the highest category room like this one does have. And uh but even if you don’t there are uh there is there are several private ownins that you can rent including one that is uh free of charge. So this is the Kuma River Kumagawa in Kumamoto. Looks like they’re staying here. You can see the front grounds, the backgrounds actually of Suando. We’ll get to the onsen bath in a second. Actually, you know what? Why don’t I just enter from here? You can take a look at it. So you can see it’s straight from the source, never recirculated, uh not treated with chlorine or anything like that. So it’s a pure authentic constant. Oh, so so they have a communal uh public bath. Uh they have two that are gender segregated communal baths. one in the basement floor, Mitagenolu, which was the which is the original bath that was uh created when they uh discovered the hot spring source in Hitoshi onen by this establishment. So that’s still there. Um that one has a softer um it’s a softer uh composition. It’s softer on the skin. Um this one as it says here. So that means natural spring. Uh it’s piped straight in. And so anyway, so this one shares the same type of onsen as uh the communal bath, I believe. um the the main communal bath and then the historic Mikag no which is also a general se segregated communal bath. Um that one uh I believe is like oh wait that one is the softer onsent and then there’s a third one midorino which is also a private rental bath um where they charge uh I think 1,500 yen per use um for up to 50 minutes. So that one actually the onsen is called the moore type m o r in English. Um and that one uh has different mineral compositions because it actually comes from um it it flows through um tree trunks and different type of soil which gives it a um you know a different composition. actually as I said. So, so you you can try different um onsen here which is nice and so this is the luxury Japanese western room. Oh, the other thing is uh the default is u and the main cuisine is ki Japanese but you could you can book a plan with Italian dining. Um in fact for it’s a casual dining Italian dining. I think there’s like pizza and pasta and different stuff like that. I heard it’s pretty good but that’s not what we’re here for this time. But especially if you stay for multiple days, this would not be a bad option. Uh staying at Dyokan Suando, uh Hitoshi Onsen Kumamoto, Japan. Hope you enjoyed.
