Toyako & Noboribetsu Road Trip from Sapporo | 札幌出發洞爺湖+登別一日自駕遊 ❄️羊蹄山・雪景・地獄谷體驗 shot with @DJI flip
[Music] [Music] It’s snowing heavily in Saporro and today we are heading out on a 1-day winter road trip to Lake Toya and Noori Betsu. We are starting off in Saporro, then driving to a viewpoint parking area with a beautiful view of Mount Yote. After that, we’ll stop at Lake Hill Farm and visit Lake Toya. Next, we continue driving south for lunch at Kanio, a local favorite known for its snow crab. After the meal, we’ll head to Noora Hell Valley to explore the volcanic landscape. Then we make our way back to Saporro all in the same day. Join us in this video to see how we managed to fit this itinerary into a one-day adventure. It was our first time driving in the snow and it was both exciting and a little bit nervous. The snow was falling heavily in the morning and the road was covered in a blanket of white. We picked our rental car around 8:00 a.m. in the morning and started the journey. Our first stop was Sandria, a 24/7 sandwich shop that’s been a local favorite in Saporro for decades. Inside there’s row of pre-made sandwiches ranging from egg salad, tuna mayo, croette, and even sweet ones like strawberry and cream. Everything is freshly made, affordable, and packed with comforting flavors. Perfect place to grab something warm and filling before hitting the road. With sandwiches and coffee in hand, we set off our first sightseeing stop. Akiawa viewpoint. It’s about an hour and a half drive. As we drove through the peaceful countryside, casually enjoying the winter scenery, the mountains suddenly came into view. It was breathtaking. Aiawa viewpoint is a quiet roadside stop that offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Yote. Mount Yote is often referred as the Mount Fuji of Hokkaido. In winter, it’s really stunning, snow cap, serene, and rising majestically above the surrounding landscape. We continued on to our next stop, Lake Hill Farm, about 30 minutes away. It’s a quiet and cozy place surrounded by a wide open fields. [Music] The cafe here is known for its gelato meat using fresh milk from cows raised on their own farm and also natural flavors of the fruits and vegetable harvested [Music] locally. On clear days, you can even see Mount Yote and Lake Toya in the distance. Great for taking photos with a beautiful view of the snow covered mountain and peaceful farmland all around. Next, we headed over to Lake Toya, a scenic lake formed by a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago. It’s known for its calm, clear waters that never freeze, even in the winter, making it especially beautiful against the snowy backdrop. On a clear day, you can see the surrounding mountain landscape, including Mount Yote, Mount Yu, and Shawa Shinszen. There are plenty of photo spots along the lake shore, perfect for capturing a wide open views. [Music] Next we stopped by Seiko Marty Mart stands out by offering items made with poko’s local ingredients. In Seikko Mart, there is a hot chef’s section. It’s a special counter where you can find freshlymade hot meals. They have a kitchen in every store, making it hot and fresher than coming from a large dispatch center. Our favorite was the potato wedges. It’s slightly salted, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Throughout our trip, we couldn’t resist buying them every time we spotted at Seoma. Next stop, Kaneo, which means crab king. It’s a specialty crab store we came across while researching online. It’s known for offering the freshest live Harry crap. As a seafood lover, we couldn’t resist checking it out. Inside they have large tank filled with various sizes of live crabs. Customers can pick the sizes they want. The price of the crab also varies according to the sizes. Once customer has chosen the crab, the crab is simply boiled to preserve its sweetness and delicate in [Music] texture. Hairy crabs are a local favorite in Hokkaido. Cherished for their sweet, tender meat and rich flavor. [Applause] [Music] Next, with our bellies happily filled with delicious crab, we made our way to the Au Numan River. It’s a free open air hot springs stream nestled in the forest. [Music] The warm mineralrich water flows gently through the riverbed and you can sit along the edge dipping your feet into the soothing stream while surrounding by a blanket of snow. It’s a beautifully calming moment, a perfect contrast to the crisp mountain air. [Music] Just a short drive away is Jigo Kulani, also known as Hell Valley. The name Hell Valley comes from the look of the bleach rocks, steaming pools, and sulfuric order reminiscent of a hellish landscape. As you enter the area, you’re immediately hit with a sharp smell of sulfur. It honestly smells like a rotten egg. It might not be the most pleasant smell, but it definitely adds to the surreal and almost otherworldly vibe of the [Music] place. We plan it on purpose to arrive in the evening. to enjoy the nightlights and the peaceful atmosphere at this hour. [Music] Since it was getting dark, we decided to skip a few nearby sightseeing spot and start the drive back to Saporro as we are concerned about the road becoming icy and harder to drive at night. Back in the city, we ended the day with a dinner and Nagagoya Kate Hasamu, a local favorite conveyor belt sushi. Fresh Hokkaido seafood and lively casual vibes made it a perfect stop to wrap up an unforgettable winter road trip. You can grab plates straight off the belt or order directly from the screen for mate to order [Music] [Music] options. Thanks for watching.
