This is my first time visiting on my own as an adult, so I wonder if I’ll be able to drive on mountain roads? Will I be able to secure a parking spot? 観賞魚作りをおすすめます。 English: Despite these worries, we managed to arrive safely at the first stop. The first spot we visited was Danjo Garan. Luckily, there was a free parking lot right in front of us, so we were able to park there. There are free parking lots all over Koyasan. More detailed information is available on the blog in the description section. We were greeted by Koyasan’s mascot character, “Kouya-kun”. This building is called Konpon Daito. Can you tell from the video? It’s really impressive up close. Maybe because we’re on top of a mountain, the sky feels close. We visited on a weekday at the end of November, so there were not many tourists and we were able to stroll around at our own pace. It seems that most of the autumn leaves had fallen. The temperature is much lower than on the ground, so it’s cool . Perhaps this is why the best time to see the autumn leaves is earlier than usual. When I was a child, if someone said, “Going to Koyasan,” my only reaction was, “Ugh! I’ll get carsick! Sushi, no fun…” But I feel like I’ve grown up now (lol). I was so impressed by the historical buildings… I always wonder how they were built. Human power is amazing. Have you ever wondered how many World Heritage Sites there are in Japan? I was curious so I looked it up and found out that as of December 2025, there are 26 World Heritage Sites in Japan – 21 cultural heritage sites and 5 natural heritage sites. If I could have a door anywhere, I’d love to visit all of the World Heritage Sites, including those around the world… I thought it would be great if I could at least share some of them with everyone on YouTube, at least within Japan at first. World Heritage Sites are so cool , aren’t they?Next up is a place that a friend of mine said she wanted to visit, a restaurant called Sasamaki Anpu. Apparently Sandwichman and Uchida Yuki visited the restaurant recently on TV. There is a space where you can eat inside the restaurant, but unfortunately, due to the influence of TV, the raw food has already sold out! The shop staff were also surprised by the influence of the TV show. They still had frozen products on sale, and my friend bought some as souvenirs. By the time we got home, they’d thaw naturally and be ready to eat. This appears to be the main store, located behind Kongobuji Temple. A detailed introduction to the store is also available on the blog in the description section. We entered Kongobuji Temple, located within walking distance of Sasamaki Anpu’s shop, through the east entrance instead of the main entrance. This temple is also full of historical buildings. This is the Koyasan Digital Museum, where you can have lunch and enjoy a cafe. Apparently, Koyasan also has lodgings called shukubo, where you can experience a variety of experiences over a two-day, one-night stay. It seems like a life-changing experience that will recharge your soul. I’ve also posted about day bus tours and shukubo on my blog, so please take a look. As the cold season approaches, it can be a hassle to go out… If you have any recommendations for places to enjoy during the coldest season, please let me know in the comments! I absolutely love this time of year, when it’s neither too cold nor too hot, and there are no insects or pollen (lol). You need lunch and something sweet on a day trip, right? In Koyasan, there is a temple cafe called “Seikein” located very close to Danjo Garan. It is the first temple in Koyasan and is a recommended place to enjoy lunch and cafe. Please check out the related video in the description. There is also another recommended spot to enjoy lunch and cafe called “Tenpu Terrace”. I will upload this in the next video, so please check it out.
