We stayed at AMANE RESORT GAHAMA Gahama Terrace in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. Enjoy the spectacular view of Beppu Bay from the open-air hot spring baths , luxurious kaiseki cuisine featuring seasonal delicacies, and a lounge where you can enjoy drinks and light snacks. This relaxing, adult-oriented hot spring resort inn is a must-see. Please read to the end! 🐻 Day 2 of our Beppu hot spring trip. We arrived at our accommodation, AMANE RESORT GAHAMA, about a 15-minute taxi ride from Beppu Station. All rooms feature free-flowing hot spring water. There are seven types of guest rooms, including the more private villa-style room and the ocean-view GAHAMA Tower. It’s perfect for an adult trip seeking the “luxury of doing absolutely nothing.” 😊 Inside, we found a cute shelf containing outdoor sandals. The hotel has a calm, sophisticated atmosphere. 🌼 The lobby, with its nostalgic, retro-modern design and small windows, features a fireplace, making it a relaxing place to wait. There’s also a beautiful water basin in the courtyard. The building is built around a water basin, allowing you to enjoy the view from any seat. ⛲ All guests have access to the club lounge, where snacks and drinks are available. ☕ There ‘s also a terrace where you can relax while looking out at the ocean. There’s a magazine and book corner, 📚 with plenty of seating in the back, so it’s not crowded and comfortable. 😌 The windows overlook the garden. Coffee machines and tea were available in two locations. I’ll introduce the snacks later. On the terrace, you can relax in the ocean breeze and beautiful scenery. At 2 p.m., snacks were served. 🥰 Bean-jam butter croissants and egg buns 🥐 Ratatouille financiers, cocoa waffles, Belgian waffles, mini madeleines with brulee-flavored peanuts, ramen peanuts, snacks like almonds, apple juice , iced coffee, a milk coffee machine, teas 🫖 red wine, white wine, sparkling wine, and sake 🍷🍾 called Hakka, a sake from Oita! I was so happy to see such a wide selection of alcoholic beverages! 🐻🍷 Non-alcoholic white wine, stick salads, 🥕, and donuts. 🍩 ( chocolate , caramel, and strawberry varieties)! ✨In the fridge were draft beer glasses, pinchos caprese, broccoli with saffron mayonnaise, melted yuba cheese cubes, raw chocolate truffles, and salami . They also had juices from Oita’s famous Tsuburana series! Canned beer, chuhai, and non-alcoholic beer. I was so excited by the stylish and delicious snacks! 🐻 Even though I had dinner later, everything was so good I ended up eating too much…😅 I’m so glad I’ve been wanting to try the whole Tsuburana series! They’re delicious with fruit pulp in them!♪ Next, I took a stroll around the hotel. The hallways were decorated with Japanese-style art. Every angle had a lovely atmosphere. This instrument is a “biwa” (Japanese lute). I’ve seen it in Demon Slayer! Old photos, such as the opening of Beppu Station, were on display. 📷 Views of the sand bath and Beppu Tower. It felt like an art museum. Outside, there was a beautiful garden. The hotel has a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. 🌿 You can freely tour the Japanese-style house, “Teruhaen.” “Teruhaen” was built in 1927 as a villa for Kunitake Kintaro, who made his fortune through Kurume Kasuri textiles. It currently serves as a tea room. 🍵 Inside, there are several rooms, and the building is very spacious. The transom design was like this. What was that? There was a gallery with a grand piano, and a rest area overlooking the water basin. Coffee and water were provided. ☕ It’s a Western-style building with a retro atmosphere. I couldn’t help but stare at the detailed decorations. The gift shop is apparently formerly a large public bath. The cosmetics and shampoos used in the room amenities are also sold here. There were also carefully selected souvenirs from Oita Prefecture. 🎁 The hotel’s original ponzu sauce, yuzu pepper, and dressing were also available. Now, let’s head to our room! Our room is on the 6th floor of Gahama Tower. You can check the latest room rates in the comments section. 💬 My room was right near the elevator, and there were only two rooms per floor, so it was very quiet. Well, let me in! 🐻 The entrance area was spacious and comfortable, with lovely art on display. The living room, with its window overlooking the ocean, was open to the sun. Opposite the sofa was a wall-mounted TV, a three-seater sofa, and a couch chair. The TV, DVD remote, and magazines were on the side table. There were also chairs on the terrace, so you could relax while watching the ocean. Here’s the view from the terrace! Since it’s right in front of the ocean, you have the spectacular view all to yourself. ✨ Relax while listening to the soothing sound of the waves. The roof you see below is a villa-style guest room. Next to the living room is a Japanese-style room. It can be used as a bedroom for two or more guests. The horizon visible from the window is like a painting. Next, let’s take a look at the bedroom. The indirect lighting creates a lovely atmosphere, and the bedroom’s air conditioning makes for a comfortable stay. The pillows are soft. 🪶 There’s a light switch, an outlet, and two USB ports at the pillowside. The built-in tissues give the room a sense of attention to detail and a design that doesn’t feel lived-in. You can watch TV in the bedroom. 📺 At the back… there was a vertical window . Next, the door next to the bedroom contained a closet and a dressing table. They were aligned for easy getting ready. 😀 A safe and a hot spring basket bag were also provided. The desk was spacious enough to sit and get ready comfortably. 💓 There was a mirror with an accessory tray and deodorizing spray . The drawers contained haori coats and anti-static spray. The bottom shelf contained in-house wear. They also had yukatas, so you could choose one to wear. 👘 The in-house wear, a samue kimono, and a yukata cardigan, was made of a comfortable material. 😊 Next, next to the entrance, there was a stylish minibar with cups on the shelves and a refrigerator behind the door. Ice is provided. 🧊 Teapot and glasses are provided. A bottle opener, drip coffee, and green tea are in the drawer. The bottom shelf is a trash can. Next to the sink, water, and minibar is the restroom. Next door… the bathroom . The large mirror was comfortable. 🙆‍♀️ RamU Organic cleansing oil, facial cleanser, all-in-one gel, body lotion, face and hand shaving foam, colorful and cute cups of tissues, a clock, a chair , a changing basket, two electrical outlets, and amenities include cotton pads, cotton swabs, a hairbrush, a toothbrush, a razor, a body towel, a shower cap, a hairdryer, and hand towels. The bottom shelf contains a bath mat, insect repellent spray , and instructions on how to use the hot spring in your room. 📝 The hot spring is directly fed from the source. ♨ Bathrobes , towel warmers, a shower space , TAYIV shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. Opening the door… an open-air bath directly fed from the source. 🛁 The bathtub is large enough for two adults. Soaking in the hot spring offers a spectacular ocean view all to yourself! ✨After enjoying the hot spring in your room, head to the large public bath in the separate building.♨You can also use the large public bath at the adjacent AMANE RESORT SEIKAI.The lobby has an infinity terrace with a spectacular view. The sofa seats, which appear to float on the ocean, are stylish! The spectacular view was so relaxing! 🥹 Now, let’s head to the large public bath. I obtained permission in advance to take photos. 🙂 Basic amenities and towels are provided, so you can come empty-handed. Lockers are locked for your peace of mind. 🔐 The sinks have partitions for comfortable use. Cleansing oil, facial cleanser, and all-in-one gel are provided. Water server, towels . Every bath, including the indoor bath, offers ocean views. The infinity open-air bath is on the first floor, so you’re close to the shore, and you can enjoy the sound of the waves, which is very relaxing. 🌊 There ‘s also a jacuzzi, which is rare for a hot spring inn . There are plenty of seating areas for resting, so you can enjoy the spectacular view to your heart’s content. The view from the bathtub makes you feel like you’re floating on the ocean . The sea breeze was so pleasant that I ended up staying longer than I expected. 🐻 Beyond the seawater cold bath… there’s a large dry sauna . The ocean view from the sauna was also amazing! The post-bath area has a smoking area, sofa seats, and massage chairs, making it the perfect meeting spot. Since there’s a bit of a distance between SEIKAI and GAHAMA, we were picked up and dropped off by cart. We relaxed in our room until dinner time. 🍵 We made a reservation for dinner at Matsuhide, a Japanese restaurant. 🍱 The restaurant has a fish tank, offering fresh fish… 🐟 All seats are private, so you can enjoy your meal at your leisure. The waterfall outside the window is a lovely sight. The drinks menu offers a wide selection, including cocktails and local sake. 🍶 We ordered the Usuki Kabosu cocktail. 🍸 Today’s menu: abalone, spiny lobster, and Oita Wagyu beef… I was thrilled by the luxury of the ingredients! [Appetizer] Aspara tofu, local vegetables, delicious dashi paste, bracken sauce, and a wasabi toast ! 🥂 The fluffy tofu and green peas, infused with the flavor of asparagus and dashi, were also delicious. 🥰 [Soup] Sea Bream Flying Head: A gentle dish of softly fried local vegetable tofu and other ingredients. [Sashimi] Tiger Prawn, Ako, Fatty Tuna, Yellowtail, and Steamed Abalone in Sake. I was impressed by the splendor of the sashimi! 🥲 The portion size was amazing… It was my first time trying Ako, and it was chewy, flavorful, and delicious. 💓 Kyushu is known for its sweet soy sauce, isn’t it? I think I’ll become addicted to it. The fish was so delicious, I was blown away. 😌 [Grilled] Nebutodai (Seaweed) Fresh Green Grilled with Green Pea Paste. Western-style seasoning. [Steamed] Salted Tomato Balls: Young Shoots of Asari Clams, Bacon, and Balsamic Vinegar, reminiscent of Western-style Chawanmushi. [Fried Food] Lobster with Sea Urchin Miso Gratin, Deep-fried Shrimp, Tarana Shoots, Shiitake Mushroom Tempura. The shabu-shabu broth is on fire. Next is Wagyu Shabu-shabu. This is sure to be delicious! 😍 Oven-cooked rice. It’s shiny and looks delicious ! I was full, so I had it made into rice balls. 🍙 Exquisite shabu-shabu that melts in your mouth. ✨ [Sweets] Smooth Pudding with Strawberry and Marmalade Sauce . Each dish in this kaiseki meal is truly impressive. By the time I finished eating, I was full. Thank you for the meal! 🐻🙏 It was getting dark, so we decided to take a stroll around the hotel. The garden was lit up, creating a lovely atmosphere. The illuminated water basin created a fantastic atmosphere. ✨ There was also a bar where we could enjoy a drink. 🍷 We were taken to the neighboring SEIKAI by cart. I wonder what the night view from the water basin terrace would be like… The water basin was lit up, and it was a mesmerizing beauty. 🕯️ We returned to GAHAMA. There was also a gym perfect for those who want to exercise. We returned to our room and enjoyed the hot springs. ♨ The night view in the distance was beautiful, and it was incredibly relaxing. 😌 For dinner, we had rice balls. 🍙 They were delicious. Good night! 🐻🌙 Good morning! Let’s take a look at the morning lounge. Cube cheese, apple juice, iced coffee, milk, corn flakes , yogurt cocktail, fruit, dried fruit, pomegranate jam, strawberry jam . We had coffee time before breakfast in the morning lounge. ☕ Thank you for the meal. We had breakfast at Matsuhide , the same place we had dinner. 🌅 The free drink menu is available . We also have sparkling wine! 🥂 A spinach, kale, banana, and soy milk smoothie. A healthy homemade smoothie! ✨ A mixed leafy vegetable salad! 🥗 Enjoy it with our original dressing ! It’s easy to drink and delicious! 😊 Dried chirimen (dried young sardines) from Beppu, Oita local cuisine, Ryukyu pickles, overnight dried flatfish, dried small sardines, shiso leaf sausage, melt-in-yado tofu from Innai, Usa City, raw eggs from Suzuki Poultry Farm, Imoridani natto from Ajimu Town, seasoned seaweed, rice cooked in a pot, and clam miso soup . So happy right from the start… the best breakfast ever. For dessert, fruit yogurt! 🍓 Thank you for the meal! It was so comfortable until the very end, and I was sad to leave… We went to the hot springs for dinner. ♨ It was a relaxing and relaxing stay. What did you think of the hotel this time?
