タスマニア州ジーベストン日帰り旅行 | カモノハシ観察、彫刻、そして小さな町の魅力

Two colorful women, one from
Hobart and one from Gibston. Morning and welcome to our channel Diversity
Travelers. It’s a bright, sunny and very windy day in Tasmania. We came to visit Gypston. It’s
a very little forest town in Tasmania around 60 kilometer from Hobart. Today we are just roaming
around in Gibston covering all those beautiful wooden sculptures. We are loving this sculpture so
much. This is so gorgeous and so authentic. And so this is a tribute to the original sculpture
bar. So I think they have they have a proper appearance fees. So you have to pay for it. We can
also do a patas walk and hopefully we’ll be able to look at some of the patas that are enjoying
these extraordinary sunny not so cold but very windy Tasmanian day. It’s becoming so windy
and I was reading at the climatic conditions of Gibson because Hobart is so well guarded from
the westerly winds and the weather conditions. That’s why Hobart is driest capital in Australia.
I think second driest capital in Australia after Adelaide but Dibstone it’s the location makes
it very wet in the middle of the forest and so that’s why it is much cooler and wetter compared
to Hobart. And it’s a nice pretty place. When we were actually coming here, it was written
that it’s forest town of Tasmania. And it is really nice and it has got a very uh foresty,
very agricultural vibe. Anywhere in Tasmania, we always get beautiful locations, small
town. I think Gypstone has got about 600, maybe between 6 and 700 uh population. So, it’s
a very small town and it’s a very historic one. Look at this location. It’s uh really nice, isn’t
it? This beautiful river and creeks flowing and I have got this beautiful agriculture land and this
grass and little mountain and bush. This is so nice. And this Gibson, it was originally founded
by John Gibson. John Gibbs was a migrant. He came here in around I think 1840s and started working
in agriculture in local orchards and in forestry. Eventually he accured some land and orchards
but in later in his life he uh contributed to the society. He started growing a settlement here
and that became these little town called Gibston. Maybe if we’re lucky we might be able
to locate some of the famous patipas. Originally when the settlement became a town
that little town used to be called lightwood bottom but then eventually according to the
founders’s name it became Jeep town and then over time around 1880s it was shortened and
became the local name as it is today Gibstone. The name of the river is Carandi River and there
are some sculptures. So I think these are all metallic sculptures uh the community project that
was created and these are all animals of Carmandi River and we just saw one umbat and I think
there is another one on the other side of the river just to mark all those animals of this
river. That’s interesting. Very interesting. Wow. This is really beautiful. The
reflections are really special. We are having a lovely walk in the
sunshine and we have got some friends here. They’re getting scared. So this is a very very famous place for patty
plus and we are trying to locate one. It’s going to be difficult I think and there is a nice
little board which tells you all about it. So we have been following the patip plus walk. Wow.
This is a very nice little viewing gallery. Nice little viewing gallery for the patip plus and
we have been trying to look at one. I think it’s going to be very difficult, but we met a
couple and they have already located three. So, we might get lucky today. There’s one down
here. Wow. Along the bank of me. Trouble. He’s underneath those. You see the splash there?
Yeah. Okay. I think it’s up there. Just through that hole. Through the hole. The hole in the
tree. All right. Okay. Yeah, I think I can see one. Okay. So, this there is a little drain
and I can walk on it. Did you notice one? Ah, okay. Down there. Yeah. I think what he’s done,
you have to be careful on there cuz it’s very slippy. Yeah. Yeah. Should be okay. He’s just gone
under the bridge. Oh, gone. Oh, yeah. That’s the one. That’s the one. Yeah, it’s swimming. Yeah.
Oh, we have got one. Patty Plus. Maybe more. Yeah. So if it goes up the bridge or on the
upside, it’s better to go up on the road and hang over the bridge and then you might see
probably I’m Oh yeah, it’s he’s playing. Yeah, you you get they come up that quick. Yeah. Then
the sun shines on top of them and you don’t see them properly. So I think they have they have a
proper appearance fees so you have to pay for it. Yeah, they are actually quite active. Yes. Yeah.
At meal times especially. H that was lovely. Lovely meeting that gentleman and locating patty
plus. And we saw couple and that was amazing on this bridge on this river and look at this beauty.
It’s always everywhere in Taspania very close to Hobart. Very natural. If you love nature this
is so beautiful. Gibstone is very very popular and famous for local fruit orchards. These days
they grow a lot of variety of fruits especially Tasmanian cherries and also the timber industry is
very very important in Tasmanian economic context. Now we are approaching one of the sculptures
I think. Uh here we go. So this is our main attraction and this is why Gypson is very very
touristy because a lot of people actually come and visit Gypston during summertime especially
for these wooden sculptures and this is amazing and do you know the wood uh bar used to create all
these creations that’s actually local wood called kingipine. Look at these sculptures curved out
of wood. How wonderful is it? And that’s actually one of the iconic location big tree that’s
people come and visit and take lots of photos. In Tasmania, especially in this region, the
eucalyptus tree could be up to 100 meter high. So they are one of the tallest trees in
the world. And that’s amazing, isn’t it? So, look at the tree once again. Look at this.
This is just a huge structure, isn’t it? And uh very well fitted. Across that we have this
amazing sculpture made with wood king. Wow. This is just fantastic. It’s so windy at
the moment. My narration is getting very noisy and I’m not using any microphone
today but it’s looking rather special. Hope you are enjoying this video. This is a
fantastic day out from Hobart. You can have a couple of hours looking around this
beautiful town. Enjoy all these wooden sculptures before going back to Hobart. We
are loving this sculpture so much. This is so gorgeous and so authentic and so this is
a tribute to the original sculpture baritar. So now main target would be to locate
as many sculpture as possible those original wooden sculptures
and we have one here called heritage couple and look at the
finish. This is just so gorgeous. Brilliant, isn’t it? And look at the expressions.
This is just so gorgeous. I’m just loving it. So this is one of the golden moments
in Gibstone. This is called heritage couple and we are also heritage
couple here after 15 years. So this is our golden moment and probably
this is our thumbnail of the video. Oh, I’ve got another one. Bill Truskis. The Gypstone Town Center looks like a film studio. It’s like visiting one of the
Hollywood western movie set. Bits from our past. Maybe these are all
different tools they used to use in timber industries and in orchards, in vioners and local
agricultural settings. Now I’ve got another one. Wow, Jim Waspoon. I think he was from New Zealand.
Beautiful color, isn’t it? These wooden sculptures are just fascinating. Hats off to all those
artists and sculptures including Bariter. We have got another wand. It’s
Dr. Oswwell Theodore Kyle. Beautiful sculpture, isn’t it? Wow. Oh, I think this is my favorite one. Look
at the expression of this lady, Jessica Haniburi. Wow, that is just fascinating. I’ll also give you
some perspective that if you’re really interested knowing about these characters, please Google and
and I’ll try to add little bit information in the description of the video. But please Google if
you want to know more about them. Wow, look at the expression. This is just fantastic. She was
one of the colorful characters of Gibston. Do you want to sit? Just sit beside her. Two colorful
women. One from Hobart and one from Gibston. And the background is also very very nicely
painted. Very nice. Beautiful. Now we are going inside the art gallery and museum. Wow. Look
at this beautiful sculpture. Isn’t it? These wooden sculptures are very famous in gemstone
and you should visit if you’re visiting Hobart and Tasmania. Excellent. And these store smells
so good. Wow. This is a beautiful gallery and museum. And uh welcome to Rose Heaven. If you
are from Australia or Taspania and you have seen definitely eight series of rosean and
that’s one of the most favorite one for us and the whole thing was shot here in Gibson and
we have beautiful photos of those great heroes Celia Pakula she is she’s one of the
most talented comedian in Australia. electronic microcontroller. That’s a
microcontroller and the computer. Wow, this is so great. Different things are on display. Woodlo logs,
cross-sections, agricultural vehicles, different kind of machineries. It’s a beautiful looking
museum and art gallery. And also interestingly, it smells so good. Probably smells like huan pine.
The whole area is just gorgeous. Very, very bright and beautiful smell all around. And it says
that climb on board. So, I’m going to jump up. That’s too big for me. Even my
legs are not reaching the ground. That’s interesting. So now we are going upstairs and
there is a woodworking workshop, machineries and also a art museum
and art exhibition. So let’s join us. Oh, everywhere. It smells so good. So, we are going upstairs for a art
exhibition and some machinery display that they used to use in the timber
industry and all those years ago. Wow, this is fantastic. And look at these structure. These wooden structures are
holding these glasses. So beautiful. I’m going to walk through quickly. And
this is very very special place. This is called the Vinsmith collection. This
painting has got a clock on it and it’s working functional. I think it has got a
battery functional. Wow, that’s fantastic. These oil paintings are really lovely, gorgeous place, very heritage,
historic and definitely worth visiting. So if you’re visiting Hobart and if you can
drive just drive to Gibstone to enjoy all those wooden sculptures and all these
beautiful thing that you can enjoy. This is one of the artistic alleyways
that you always have in very arty towns. And so we are going to car park.
I hope you enjoyed this video, this little video in Gibson. This was
fantastic. It’s very close to Hobart and we have been here before but never made a
video. So we wanted to make a video specially covering all those beautiful wooden sculptures
and we could look at some patipas. So it was a fun day in Gypstone. If you are visiting
Hobart and if you’re visiting Taspana, you should visit Gypson. It is a fantastic little
town which has many things to offer. Thank you very much for watching this video. Goodbye
from Gypston. Goodbye until the next video.
