Our destination is Kamogawa Onsen in the outer Boso Peninsula. Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line Umihotaru Take the undersea tunnel to the heart of Tokyo Bay. On the other side of this bridge is Chiba Prefecture. Japan’s bridge construction technology is amazing. On the way to Kamogawa River, There is Nomizo Falls, which is often featured in the media. We get some fresh air there. This is a beautiful place where fireflies live. Apparently the famous heart shaped view can only be seen in the early morning hours of March and September. There is a bell of good fortune just before Nomizo Falls. I’ll try ringing it. Wishing for peace Nomizo Falls and Kameiwa Cave During the Edo period, a bypass was constructed to improve water flow efficiency. It is now a popular tourist spot known as Ghibli Anime World. Shimizu Keiryu Park, home to Nomizo Falls, is apparently the place in Honshu where you can see the latest autumn leaves. This video was shot in late October, but there is still no sign of autumn leaves. It’s so warm there are baby snakes. Since it is a special occasion, we will have some pudding. There are autographs from comedians Mr. Degawa and Mr. Ebisu. Apparently they were there for a TV shoot. This pudding was very rich and delicious. We have some time before check-in time at the hotel, so we take a walk along the Kamogawa beach. Seafood barbecue and cafe, There are shops and a bakery here. Maebara Beach Good waves. The Boso Peninsula seems to be a popular spot for surfers too. It was time to check in so we arrived at the hotel. This hotel is located about a 10-minute drive south from Awa-Kamogawa Station. The hotel we stayed at this time was ZEKUU. This hotel is located on cliffs above the raging Pacific Ocean. I’m looking forward to it again this time. So, let’s go. ZEKUU opened in 2014. This hotel has a spectacular view and all rooms have open-air hot spring baths. That’s why the hotel is often featured in the media. Last year they renovated the annex to provide luxury rooms, so we will be staying in the room this time. The entrance is very clean and calm. This hotel has been certified as a “Heartful Inn in Chiba”. They also provide support for people with physical disabilities. ZEKUU has received many awards from major travel agencies. As you walk through the stylish hall decorated with shells, The majestic Pacific Ocean spreads out before your eyes. It’s a spectacular view that perfectly matches the name ZEKUU. We check in at this lounge. A mystery unfolds on this table with a rolling iron ball later. This lounge offers free alcohol during the night. I explain in more detail later. Now let me show you the rooms. A luxurious entrance hall with a tiled finish. I felt it smelled really good, There was a lovely fragrance. The keychain too. The living room is separate from the bedroom. You can relax here and have a cup of tea or alcohol. Let’s start with the pantry. A server that makes it easy to drink both hot and cold water. Some glasses are hanging. That’s stylish. It’s okay if you forget your phone charger. Drip Coffee, Black tea, Hojicha, And sencha. They also have sea bream crackers, a Kamogawa specialty. There are lots of dishes. It’s a stylish cup. Let’s take a look inside the refrigerator. These are all complimentary drinks. Sparkling wine This is not a service provided by a travel agency site, but is unique to ZEKUU. It’s a comprehensive service that even includes Kamogawa Potato. Next let’s look at the bedroom. The design allows for a spectacular view right in front of the bed. It’s truly luxurious. There is something on top of the bed. It’s a projector. You can watch as much VOD as you want from NETFLIX, U-NEXT, etc. It also comes with surround speakers, allowing you to enjoy a full-fledged home theater experience. There is also a small refrigerator next to the bed. Down jackets are provided so you can relax on the terrace on cold days. This is clothing for indoor use only. There is also a safe, so you can feel safe. Now let’s head to the terrace with the open-air bath. To my surprise, these are COACH sandals. It’s luxurious. The walls and ceiling act as a frame, highlighting the open-air bath and the sea like a work of art. The sea is close. And this magnificent view. There are lots of picturesque landscapes. The terrace is as large as a garden. Big hammock. I’ll try riding this. Feels good. It is a hot spring that is one with the ocean. The spring quality is sulfur-containing, sodium-chloride, bicarbonate cold mineral spring. It is colorless, odorless and gentle on the skin. The temperature is just right, not too hot and not too lukewarm. Next, I’ll show you the bathroom. This is a clean and luxurious washstand. Refa iron, And a hair dryer. My wife loved this. Accessory box Cotton Cotton swabs Toothbrush holder It’s detailed and stylish. There is a wide selection of cosmetics. Also available for men. The amenities are perfect. Let’s take a look at the toilet. The toilets are very clean. The shower is located at the terrace entrance. The large shower head, there is also a double shower that can be accessed from the ceiling. It was a very nice room. ZEKUU has many more wonderful facilities. Next, let me introduce you to the Sky Lounge. It is on the top floor of the hotel. The sea breeze and ocean views will soothe your mind and body. Relax on the luxurious sofas and gaze out at the sea, allowing you to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In this lounge you can enjoy complimentary juice, beer, coffee and tea. The Sky Lounge at night also has a nice atmosphere. Next, we will introduce the private open-air bath, Suiten-no-Yu. The rental fee is 2,200 yen for 50 minutes. It’s also great value as it comes with a full-fledged sauna and cold bath. I highly recommend you have a great time here. Let’s check the sauna. The temperature is 84°C. This is a full-fledged sauna equipped with sauna stones where you can enjoy loyly. After working up a sweat in the sauna, you can cool off in the air conditioning in the washroom. And you can wash off the sweat in the shower. After enjoying the hot springs and the scenery, It’s dinner time in the private dining room, “Gatten.” You can enjoy authentic seafood dishes made with fresh spiny lobster, abalone, and local fish. It’s nice to be able to eat in a private room without any worries. We toast with a summer mandarin aperitif. Looking at the menu, my expectations rise. The chopsticks are also high quality. First, we eat the appetizer. It is a beautiful meal served on bamboo leaves and washi paper. It’s also nice to be able to eat freshly grilled clams. It came suddenly. This is food served on a boat. The lobster’s whiskers are still moving. Tuna, yellowtail, Amberjack, Spanish mackerel, and sea bream. It seems that a lot of spiny lobsters are caught here in Kamogawa, It’s so fresh. The fishing port is nearby so all the food is very fresh. The clams look like they’re almost done. Very hot! It’s big and delicious. The next dish is red sea bream. The fine cuisine just keeps coming. Eating a whole golden-eyed snapper is a luxury. This is a hot dish. It’s a pumpkin bun topped with mushroom sauce. And my favorite is abalone. Looks like it was just taken out of the tank. While the abalone is grilling, we eat Kazusa Wagyu steaks. It’s the ultimate luxury. This is an upgraded meal plan. We can choose either abalone or steak for each person. Kazusa Wagyu beef is melt-in-my-mouth tender. Looks like the abalone is cooked. The staff removed the meat from the shell for us. The other meals still keep coming. Duck meatballs and mushroom tempura The final dish is This is a fisherman’s meal, consisting of seared horse mackerel served with ochazuke. This is dessert. Cute persimmon rice cake French pudding Purple sweet potato bite cake Even so, It was a luxurious and dreamy dinner. After a very satisfying dinner, We had a few drinks in this lounge. Shochu, whiskey, Lemon sour, plum wine, and wine. There is also a draft beer dispenser. While we were relaxing in the lounge, My wife noticed something odd. The pattern on this table has changed since we saw it at check-in. When I looked into it later, I found out that it was a table made by a company called Sisyphus. This is an art table where magnets guide iron balls to create sand patterns. We came back from a walk after dinner, and rested by watching VOD. The room numbers are shown with shadow. There are stylish touches all around this hotel. Next morning The weather forecast for that day was for rain, It was a little sunny in the early morning. It’s a pleasant morning. Drinking coffee in a hammock is dangerous. While shooting a timelapse, I took a bath in the large public bath. The large public bath was even closer to the sea and felt great. Breakfast is also served in a private room. We didn’t notice it at dinner, this was the VIP room with an ocean view. We appreciated for this room. Then let’s start breakfast. The small bowls are placed in a basket, making for a beautiful presentation. Sashimi, salads, And there is grilled fish, which is well balanced. Nagasamai Koshihikari rice cooked in a kiln. Fragrant lobster miso soup. It also contains shrimp miso. The side dishes are delicious, so I eat a lot of rice. And with Fukushima’s Date Chicken, I’ll eat egg rice. I had a delicious and plentiful breakfast. On this trip, we also found a wonderful hotel. This hot spring hotel makes the most of fine cuisine and spectacular views. The hotel offers excellent services and facilities, so you won’t get bored even if you spend the whole day there. And the customer service of the staff was also wonderful. I was grateful to ZEKUU. As soon as we left the hotel, We found an interesting place nearby so we went there. The sea fishing pond, Ocean Flower Surf Fishing Center. Sea fishing ponds are rare. It’s at the end of this cave. We rent fishing rods and bait at the reception. The bait is these tiny shrimp. This gentleman taught us how to fish. A rare fish has appeared. Filefish are masters at stealing bait. There are also Spanish mackerel and sea bream. There are more than 30 kinds of fish in this tank. Five minutes after we started fishing, my wife caught the first fish. She caught red snapper right from the start. While my wife was enjoying fishing, I filmed ZEKUU. When I was taking a video of the ocean, She also caught a rockfish and a sea bream. When I just got back there, She let the big fish go. My wife was very happy as it was her first time catching a fish. It’s all thanks to that kind gentleman who tried so hard to show her how to. It seems that too many spiny lobsters are caught in this area. If you catch a spiny lobster and bring it home, Be careful, as you may be fined up to 30 million yen. Finaly, There is a rare underwater park in the neighboring city of Katsuura, o we stop by there before heading home. When we went to the guesthouse to pay the parking fee, There were a lot of cats. Along this beach, First, we take a stroll through the park called Ubara Utopia. This seagull may be injured. A small tunnel appeared. It seems that Ubara Utopia is just ahead. It looks like a pretty large park. There are also public toilets here. There are ropes to prevent from slipping. A fawn appeared just now, but unfortunately I wasn’t filming. I never imagined that Chiba Prefecture could have such beautiful nature. Twilight Hill There are apparently Jomon period ruins up ahead. There is a Jizo statue. Going further, Taoyamedaira This is a scenic spot with cliffs, so, it’s used as a filming location for a suspense drama. The lighthouse-like building peeking out from the sea is the Katsuura Undersea Park Observation Tower. Now let’s go to the underwater observation tower. There is a private parking lot just past the Sea Museum on the right. Be careful not to let the ticket fly away in the wind. This is the rockfish that my wife caught. Let’s go. We descend the stairs to 8 metres below the sea floor. We didn’t expect much. But there were a lot of fish there. Also tides, It’s more realistic and interesting than an aquarium. We went back out to sea. That is Ubara Utopia where we just visited. This was my first trip to the Boso Peninsula. It made me want to go to other places in this area.
