【うるさい】ラオスの中国鉄道を使ってバンビエンからルアンパバーンへ行ってみる

Hello everyone, I’m traveling in Laos again today . I’m currently in a place called Vang Vieng . I spent the whole day there yesterday, and today I’m heading from Vang Vieng to Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang is my last stop in Laos, and I’m looking forward to it, so I’ll see what’s in store for me. I can get there by minivan or train. Apparently, it ‘s connected by a Chinese railway, so I booked tickets using this app. Reservations are accepted three days in advance, but there was a huge scramble for tickets. I was hoping to get a midday flight, but it sold out in about two hours. Tickets start vying for your seat at 6:30 AM, so if you’re traveling, it’s best to make sure you book your ticket. I only accepted VISA cards, so be careful. I’m still in the hotel now, but I’ll head to the station from the center of Vang Vieng and take the train to Luang Prabang. Let’s see what’s there. Thank you. I just checked out of my hotel in Kop Chai. This is in the city center, but it’s quite far from the station. It takes about 50 minutes to walk there , which is pretty tough. I asked the man at the hotel earlier and he said it would be better to take a tuk-tuk . I’ll ask a nearby tuk-tuk. Is this a tuk-tuk? There’s no one there. What’s this photo? I made it. I kept 50,000 yen, so about 350 yen . There’s a lot of dust. But if they told me to walk here, I think I could do it if I tried. We’ve arrived. This is Vang Vieng Station, a railway built by China. I’m surprised. This person said, “This is China!” as soon as I got here. It’s amazing. It’s scary. I suddenly feel like I’m in China. Aren’t there suddenly so many Chinese people? It’s China. There are so many people here. What’s this? Are they all taking pictures? Where do they enter? Are they lining up? I spotted Kumamon. Do they enter here? Everyone’s taking too many selfies. I’ll take a picture too. This is the station. Everyone’s taking pictures at the entrance, so it’s crowded. I’ll line up here for now. He was mad, telling me not to cut in line. I think everyone else was getting in from the side. They’ll inspect my bags here. I just got in. It says C-92, that’s it. It says the gate opens at 31 minutes. It went more smoothly than I expected, so I had some free time. This station is spacious and feels like a typical Chinese station. There’s a strict security check at the entrance, which also feels Chinese. Now I’m waiting to board the train. It feels like I’ve suddenly arrived in China . I wonder where these people were. Train tickets, which I didn’t see much of in Vang Vieng, can be reserved three days in advance, so it’s a fierce battle, so if you have a set schedule, it’s best to make sure you get one. The first way to reserve tickets is to come to the station and reserve in advance. This is inefficient. Like today, you have to make a special trip to reserve. The second way is to have an agency or hotel purchase your ticket. The hotel I was staying at also seemed to reserve train tickets for me, but they charge a fee . The third way is to purchase tickets through the official app. That’s what I did this time. I was able to reserve through the official app, LCR Ticket. Previously, reservations could only be made by phone number, but now they can be made with an email address. Reservations can only be made three days in advance, so I made my reservation three days in advance. Reservations can only be made from 6:30 AM onward, not from midnight, so be careful . You have to get up early to make a reservation. All you need is an email address, a VISA credit card, and a passport. If you cancel five times, you won’t be able to make reservations for that day, so be careful. Once you’ve purchased your ticket, you’ll receive a QR code . I was able to enter by showing my QR code at the entrance, so it should be easy after that. However, I have two VISA cards, and both initially gave me an error. I was able to use the first one, but after about three attempts, it worked . I think it’s worth trying a few times. If you’re using a card like Rakuten, you’ll need SMS authentication, so you should take precautions like authenticating your email address in advance. The gate just opened, so let’s go. Chinese people have been lining up for 20 minutes. Chinese people are impatient, so it’s interesting that they’re punctual . Zero-distance travel is impressive , as expected. I got first class this time, so I think it’s a pretty good seat. I hope so. It says China Railway. It’s noisy. Vang Vieng was so quiet, but the moment I got here, it was so loud. So, this is it. First class is like this. I’ll get on. I’ll get on this. This is Chinese style, too. I’ll get on. Seats are reserved. It’s not first come, first served, so I have plenty of room, but it’s not a window seat. 12, D. Is this it? From here, it’s an hour and five minutes to Luang Prabang. I hope it won’t be too noisy inside the train, right? Please, please be quiet . I just arrived at the station, and this place feels natural. I was so tired I slept so soundly. Yesterday’s mountain climbing has taken its toll on me, and my whole body is sore. If you’d like, please take a look at my previous Vang Vieng training. There are a lot of tours here. Like the previous one, this area is quite far from the center. I was dropped off deeper into the mountains than I expected . Apparently, to get to the center from here, there’s a minivan right after the exit, and that will take you there. Shall I check it out? I wonder? So, there’s no rip-off here. It’s probably a flat rate. I should ask. Seriously, this is China. I was shocked. They dropped me off the bus for about 280 yen . They seemed to give me the name of the hotel before getting off, and since we were passing nearby, I said I’d get off there too. This is Luang Prabang town . I’m still not sure. Maybe it’s a little far from the center? I don’t know. Anyway, I’ll leave my luggage and go get something to eat. It looks like it’s in the center, but there’s lots of greenery, which is nice. It’s quiet, and I like it. The birds chirping gives it a local feel. It’s so hot, though. It feels like perpetual summer. Is this it? A Tee Guesthouse. Let’s check in to our accommodation for the night. Where’s the entrance? Is this someone’s house? Hello. Shower. What’s this picture ? It looks like there’s hot water. The reviews said there’s hot water. I wonder if I got a twin room? I can’t remember. It’s like this, and we’ll share two beds. I wondered if I could put something in here, but there’s a mysterious futon inside . The view from the window looks like this. It feels like Luang Prabang. I need to make arrangements for tomorrow’s trip to Kuang Si Falls, but there’s a photo hanging up. Maybe it’s a family photo? Nice. There’s a place called Kuang Si Falls, and when I tried to make arrangements to go there tomorrow, I was told it leaves at 8am. That’s way too early, isn’t it ? I usually wake up in the daytime, you know? I asked the lady from before to check the time properly. In the meantime , let’s have something to eat. There’s a nice restaurant nearby called Bamboo Garden. It’s about a 30-second walk away, and apparently it gets really crowded at night, but it might be empty now, so I’ll go. It’s about 1:30pm now, and I don’t like the sun, so let’s go to a seat in the back. I read that this restaurant is delicious, and it looks good. They also have something like gapao. We’ve arrived. It’s the kind of food I usually eat in Japan. Let’s eat. I’ll have the gapao rice here. This was so delicious! I have a serious look on my face, but deep down I’m thinking, “This is so good, I can’t believe it!” I wonder if the seasoning is more Japanese. I was surprised at how much I liked it. If you go to Luang Prabang, I recommend you go to this restaurant and try their gapow. I just had it, and it was delicious. I was surprised, it was the best thing I’ve had in Laos! I don’t understand. I highly recommend the food here. It’s about 4pm now, so I’m going to check out Luang Prabang. I’m looking forward to it, as the entire city is a World Heritage Site. There are quite a lot of motorbikes here, and everyone is speeding around without helmets. There’s a lot of traffic. Maybe it’s because it’s evening, but it’s really heavy. I’m walking from here to the city center, and they sell fruit. I’m walking around Luang Prabang, and compared to Vientiane and other places, it’s richer in nature, and it feels like nature and the city coexist. This city is a World Heritage Site, and it was similar to Malacca, which I went to before. That place in Malaysia is also a World Heritage Site, and the entire city is worth seeing . Is this the food area of the night market? Apparently this is where the night market will be tonight. They’re setting up like this. That place over there is called Phousi Hill . Apparently, you can see the sunset from there. However, I have to climb about 20 minutes of stairs. My legs are sore, and I’m still tired from yesterday, so I think I’ll try it tomorrow. I don’t think I’m ready for it yet. What do you think? Luang Prabang cityscape. I think this place is pretty central, and it’s really quiet. It’s much more tranquil than I expected . The building is well-made and has a very stylish feel. The comments are shallow. It’s written there. They told me it was 120,000 yen. It’s more expensive than I expected, about 1,000 yen. An article I found said it was 50,000 yen, so I’ll look into other places. Is it available here? Maybe I should ask. It’s 120,000 yen here, too, and I’ll go at 11:00 and come back at 4:00 . I wonder if that’s the going rate ? The back streets are like this. It’s greener than I expected, which I like. I thought I’d walk along the river. As I was walking, I spotted the Mekong River. This is the Mekong . It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Mekong. Oh, they even have boats. This is the Mekong. It’s been a while. A viewer called out to me earlier, and I asked them if they went to the waterfall. They said they did. They rented a motorbike and went to the waterfall, but they said motorbikes cost 1.5 million yen, which is more expensive than a minivan, and you have to go on some pretty steep off-road terrain for about an hour, so they couldn’t recommend it. Considering that, I’m starting to think that 120,000 yen would be fine, but I guess it can’t be helped. I’m not being stingy, so I’m alone, so it can’t be helped. You can spend time like this by the river, drinking coffee. 15,000 yen for private. It’s private. Private only is 150,000 yen, so it’s the same. Just like a motorbike. You can ride a boat for about 1,000 yen. Yeah. I wonder… I think it’s okay today. Is that a condom? It’s not a condom. It was raining. Everyone’s going by boat like this. It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Mekong. I’ll take a picture. I’m tired of walking. Is this a cafe? A hidden cafe or coffee shop that I like? Hello. I sit and wait. It’s so nice. I’m enjoying a riverside Americano here, chilling while watching the river. It’s delicious. I’ve had black coffee about twice while I was in Laos. The ones I bought around here were all terrible. I was wondering what Laotian black coffee is like, but then the coffee the girl from before made was amazing. The sun is setting, so I’m walking around. These temples are so beautiful. Cafes really do feel like World Heritage Sites. I went hiking in Vang Vieng last time , and at the beginning I said it would be a breeze, but it worked perfectly. I didn’t expect my whole body to be so sore. I got carried away and even went to the next cave-like place. My body is so sore from that. My thighs and back, but my arms aren’t tired because I usually do strength training. Muscles I don’t normally use are crying. If you’re going there, it might be better to take the next day off and relax at the hotel. Traveling the next day can be quite tiring . Please check out the previous video. Thank you. There are stylish cafes lined up along the sidelines, which is really nice. The sunsets are nice, and the lighting is great. Someone said walking around here is exciting, and I totally get that. It feels different from Vang Vieng yesterday, more geared towards tourists than backpackers. This place has a stylish feel. There are small shops lined up all along the sidelines, and it’s amazing how many souvenir shops there are, with so many general goods . Silver earrings. There’s a wide variety. Necklaces and bracelets. There’s a river here, too: the Nam Khan River. This side is more tranquil. This riverside in the city is also nice. There are tour signs here, too. It’s 120,000 yen, as expected. It’s the same. Everywhere, 120,000 yen, keep, cat, what are you doing? Oh, no. Sorry. I told the man at the inn I had a reservation, and he said 1 million yen. It’s night, so I came to see the night market. I think I’ll get something to eat here. I’m not that hungry, though. Wow, is this what it’s like? There are quite a few people here. There seems to be a variety of food options, so you can buy it here and eat it at your leisure. This is my first time. Speaking of Luang Prabang, Khao Soi is famous and apparently delicious, so I’d like to try that. Is it available here? Is this Khao Soi? It looks delicious. It really looks delicious . What is this? Is it a topping? It doesn’t feel like it’s just a natural addition, right? They serve it there. It’s quite ramen. I met a follower, so we ate and chatted together. The Khao Soi is so delicious . You know, they have this spoon that’s unique to this place. I think it’s a common thing, but it sinks before you know it. I’ll return it when I’m done, thank you. Is it delicious? Very delicious, thank you. Thank you. I met a follower, so after eating, we went to this night market. It’s about 10pm now. Are they closing up shop yet? Have they packed up yet? A magnet with the Laotian flag. This picture is amazing. Ganesha. It’s my favorite. Are there any North Korean shops? Are there any North Korean ones? They’re already packing up. I can’t take it anymore. I’ll come back tomorrow. If they’re playing TERIYAKI BOYZ overseas, I’ll get excited. What did you think of today’s episode about traveling to Luang Prabang? I’m sorry. You might think it’s not substantial, but I was so tired that I took a nap until the evening. I’m sorry. I was on the move every day, so I was exhausted and fell asleep. I’m sorry. I was actually planning to explore more of Luang Prabang during the day, but tomorrow I’ll spend the whole day visiting Luang Prabang’s tourist attractions and climbing up the hill. Will this be another training session? I’m definitely going to do that, so please check it out. I’ll be thoroughly enjoying Laos until tomorrow. Khao Soi is so delicious. Apparently Khao Soi is famous, and there are many different stores, so I’d like to try them all. I might eat it again after climbing the hill tomorrow, or I’ll decide depending on my mood. Please check back next time. Until next time, and thank you.
