【鳥羽駅周辺を散策】リアス海岸や清澄な海、また伊勢海老やあわび、牡蠣など、新鮮な海の幸が豊富で観光客を魅了する鳥羽を散策しました
Hello, this is Fuuyan. Today I am in Toba city, Mie prefecture , and here I am in front of Kintetsu Toba station. Toba is famous for its pearls, and this is a statue of Kokichi Mikimoto, the first person in the world to successfully cultivate pearls. This is Toba Marche, a direct-from-farm market selling local seafood and agricultural products. There was a restaurant. The price is reasonable and you can eat while looking at the sea, so I decided to eat here. I ordered tekone sushi (980 yen). It’s a nice view, and of course I got a seat by the window. This is tekone sushi, a local dish from the Ise-Shima region. The miso soup is the familiar red miso. It’s quite far from Nagoya, but it’s red miso. It looks like a seafood bowl, but the rice is vinegared rice. It’s a type of chirashi sushi, but the ingredients are tuna and bonito marinated in a soy sauce-based sauce. I added a little soy sauce. It was so delicious that I ate it all in one go . This is Toba Marine Terminal. You can take a ferry to the four islands in Toba. Apparently, this is “Toba Bay Tour and Dolphin Island” It looks like a special ticket counter , and this side is for general ferry boats. For a moment I saw a poster for “Toba Ichiro.” It’s a social lounge, from which you can get a beautiful view of Toba Bay, and the cutlet curry here is said to be delicious. This is the boat you take to go to Dolphin Island. The name of the boat is Ryugu-jo.It ‘s a park, but it’s currently under construction.I wonder if it will be cleaned up next time I come.On the right is a shopping mall called Toba 1st Street.I went inside and took a look. The first floor is mainly the souvenir corner. The second floor also sells souvenirs and pearls, and the third floor is a restaurant.I was right to eat at the previous place and get “Umekone Sushi” for 4,800 yen.Wish agency reception desk? It seems that this table is facing the direction of the three shrines. There is a connecting passage to the station here. This is in front of the ticket gates of Kintetsu Toba Station. You can take a break in a place with a nice view.Let ‘s go to the JR side. This is the ticket gates of JR Toba Station. This is what JR is like in Mie Prefecture. There are a row of shops where you can eat seafood on the spot.Friendly ladies will call out to you. There is this place, “Irako Seihaku’s House.” Irako Seihaku is the author of the poetry collection “Peacock Boat,” but he was not very well received at the time. However , about 50 years after Irako Seihaku’s death, another poet, Hinatsu Konosuke, praised him highly, and he finally began to receive attention.Irako Seihaku was also a doctor and had a clinic and residence in Toba, and this is the building it was in at the time. This is the examination room. This is the second floor.I was told that you could see a beautiful view from the window. I was tricked , but this area is lively. There’s something I want to see, so I’ll deviate from the old road. We’ve arrived at the Edogawa Ranpo Museum. In fact, Edogawa Ranpo also lived in Toba, and his wife is from Toba. In fact, Edogawa Ranpo Museum used to be operated in an old house behind here, but it was lost in a fire a few years ago. It was replaced by this new building, which is… I ‘m sure I’ll touch on this, but this is said to represent “The Wanderer in the Attic”. We’re back on the old road. The first floor says retro goods, and the second floor says Ethnography Research Center. It seems to be closed today. What a storefront with an escalator. I’m sure it used to be full of customers. Koppeya Bakery, I wanted to come here because I want a photo that looks better than the hand-kneaded sushi. But this is closed, isn’t it? What a shame! There are many houses clinging to the cliffs like this on the mountain side. I’m sure they can’t be rebuilt. On the left side there is a bank, and it’s a fairly lively place. There are many houses with impressive storehouses around here, so I wonder if there are many people who have made their fortunes? It’s a charming tenement house, isn’t it? I can see my destination. This is the former mansion of the Hirono family, who were the wealthiest people in Toba. The family name was “Kadoya” and they ran a pharmacy until the Taisho era. It’s truly the home of a wealthy merchant, with attention to detail in the decoration. A symbol of wealth, there is a magnificent garden. Retro items like this are so relaxing. It’s a very old organ. Is this the back door for bringing in goods? The garden is beautiful with greenery. I’m heading towards the station on National Route 167. I’ll take a look at the fishing port. It seems that finless porpoises often pop out around here. This is the Toba Port ferry terminal. It connects Toba and Irago. Inside looks like this. There is a souvenir shop and a restaurant. You can’t get out because of construction, but that’s the ferry. It ‘s in front of Toba Aquarium. I only came here recently with my grandchild so I’ll pass. I wonder why I didn’t take a video then, I could have used it here. This is the sea otter post. When do sea otters live? Can you see all the way to the top? This is where the main gate of Toba Castle used to be. Most of the tenants next to Toba Aquarium are shops that deal in pearls. I ‘m sure the profit margin for pearls is huge. Mikimoto Pearl Island is visible in front of you. Let’s go to the ruins of Toba Castle. Toba Castle was built in 1594 by Kuki Yoshitaka of the Kuki Navy. At the time, it was a castle standing alone in the sea and was called Toba’s floating castle. The stone walls remain, and there are also spots that look great in photos. The stone walls are layered like terraced fields. This is where the castle tower used to be. It’s a place where you can see quite far away. This is the site of the main citadel . We’re heading towards Oyamazumi Shrine . It seems to be a shrine that enshrines Oyamazumi-no-Mikoto, who is said to be the god of the mountains and the father of Konohanasakuya-hime. How was today’s stroll around the town? We’ll continue to introduce various places, so if you’d like, please subscribe to our channel and wait for us. See you again…
