Japan travel tip number four don’t book your hotel in Shinjuku Shinjuku is one of my favorite areas in Tokyo with amazing restaurants nightlife and famous landmarks but unfortunately it’s located on the far west side of Tokyo which can make it an hour train ride away from other top attractions instead I would recommend staying at a central location like akasaka which is only 10 to 20 minutes away from asakasa Tokyo Station Ginza and suichi Market while still only about 15 minutes from shib and Shinjuku it’s the perfect location if you want to maximize your trip and generally the hotels are cheaper too follow a Toki from more Japan travel tips

    I love uuuuu 🫶🏼 I’ll do my best 🥹🫶🏼

  2. That’s so funny Shinjuku is by far the worst area 😂😂😂 is this your first time in Japan??? Lmao

  3. dumbest advice the bus from airport goes to Shinjuku u want to lug your suitcase in train or take expensive taxi ride. asakusa is dead at night

  4. Shinjuku is not in the far west side of Tokyo, that's Ome or Hachioji. Shinjuku is literally central Tokyo.

  5. If someone book hotel in Asakasa, that person would have spend around 1 hour 30 mins to get to shinjuku or shibuya by subway. 😂

  6. I disagree. We stayed in Shinjuku earlier this month and public transport was a couple of minutes from our hotel. It was easy to get around once you get the hang of the metro.

  7. I highly recommend staying in Ueno. Straight shot from Narita via Skyliner and there’s a ton of restaurants there. Close to Akihabara and 30min train ride from Shibuya and easy access to other places since Ueno is a big station.

  8. I've stayed twice at the Mercure hotel near Haneda airport. Rooms are twice as large as you'd get in central Tokyo and it's 5 min from Otorii metro station.

  9. i stayed at asakusa, at a hotel really close to senso-ji temple. had airport shuttle which was 5 min walk to my hotel, all metro lines were really short with asakusa line. i really loved it and it was a little bit calmer than shibuya or shinjuku. a better place to stay at with your family (ueno is a great second option too!)

  10. From Shinjuku, you can go anywhere. I don't know what she is going on about…
    Distance from Shinjuku Station to
    Tokyo – 12 minutes
    Tsukiji – 21 minutes
    Shibuya – 4 minutes
    Ginza – 15 minutes

From Shinjuku Station, you can basically go anywhere.

  11. Akasaka = 10-20 mins away from top attractions, 15 mins away from Shinjuku.
Meanwhile Shinjuku = 1 hour away from these places.
    Einstein level math.

  12. Bruh what? I wouldn't reccomend staying in Shinjuku for many reasons, but it is most definitely NOT far west of Tokyo. Wth?

Hachioji is what I would call FAR west of Tokyo, Shinjuku is 15 minutes away from Tokyo station.

  13. Stay wherever you like. It all depends on what you plan to do anyway. Also, anywhere near the Yamanote line works. It just goes in a big circle around the city.

  14. Stay where you want, I stayed in a residential area an hour from ikebukuro and it was a perfect decision

  15. Yeah, this is nonsense. Having been to Tokyo a few times now, Shinjuku is absolutely the best place to be as a visitor for access to, well, almost everything.

  16. I wish I had cool friends like you. 😭🙏 I spent my entire 2 month Japan trip by myself. I did not have a Michael or a Maxi to accompany me. I went during the peak of summer, and it was super hot, and chaotic and I drank so much alcohol and I don’t even drink! You’ve inspired me to go to Japan again. 😊 Thank you.

  17. Definitely an "oh boy here we go" moment.

Some content creators just gotta go against the grain just so they can look like they have insightful knowledge.

    Some might even lie…

  18. Book your hotel close to wherever you want to go. I booked a hotel in Shinjuku for part of my trip.
