【草津温泉観光】美味しい!楽しい!が盛り沢山。草津温泉の必ず行くべき観光スポットを完全解説します!

Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture Hello, this is Testoku Travel . Today we will be introducing Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture , which is highly acidic and said to have the highest volume of hot spring water in Japan. It is also one of Japan’s three most famous hot springs and is a popular tourist spot. This time, we will be taking a food tour and visiting some free hot spring spots. Let’s get started. First, we will introduce the area around the Yubatake , the most popular spot. At this Yubatake, an amazing 4,000 liters of hot spring water gushes out every minute . That ‘s an incredible amount! There are six hot springs, all of which are high in temperature and highly acidic. It would be nice to take a bath in various places, enjoying the hot springs and touring the hot springs. The path that the hot springs take here is, There are seven “Yuboi” (hot water pipes) that are apparently used to collect hot spring deposits and lower the temperature of the hot spring water before sending it to various facilities. They look great and are very practical. As you approach the Yubatake, you can feel the warmth of the rising steam. Combined with the smell of sulfur, it really gets you excited. Around the Yubatake, there are hand-washing baths where you can wash your hands in the hot spring , and there are also foot baths in various places, so you can enjoy sightseeing without freezing even in the cold season . There are souvenir shops and restaurants around the Yubatake , but they are all crowded and lively. In Kusatsu, there are three public baths that tourists can use for free, two of which are One of them is Shirahata no Yu, located near the Yubatake. It uses the nearby Shirahata hot spring and is said to be the hottest public bath in Kusatsu. There are two baths, one with hot water and one with lukewarm water, but both were so hot that some people were unable to enter. When entering, it is recommended to pour your water over yourself and let the temperature ring before entering slowly . The quality of the spring is also really good and it will be a good memory of your trip, so I recommend you to enter . Please note that it is strictly forbidden to stay in the bath for long periods of time . Next to Shirahata no Yu is a stylish hot spring facility called Goza no Yu . Here you can enjoy two types of hot springs, the Yubatake hot spring and the Bandai hot spring , so it is recommended for those who want to enter various hot springs . The price is 1,200 yen per adult. Another free public bath near the Yubatake is Chiyo no Yu. This bath uses the Yubatake hot spring and , perhaps because the hot spring water flows through the tub, the temperature is lower and it is easier to enter than other public baths. If you were unable to enter Shirahata no Yu because it was too hot, then you should definitely try Chiyo no Yu. At Netsu no Yu, located right next to the Yubatake , you can actually see a hot spring massage show. The price is 700 yen per adult. 100 Yen Yubatake is divided into the first and second floors, and there are plenty of seats, so we were able to sit down. It looks like the show is about to start. I’ll give you a sneak peek. After the dancing, it seems the yumomi will finally begin. Towards the end , the yumomi becomes more and more intense, and you can feel the steam and heat rising . The yumomi show was more impressive and fun than I imagined . After the show, you can also experience yumomi for 300 yen , so if you’re interested, please give it a try. Also, at Kusatsu’s Yubatake, the water is lit up every day from sunset . It looks completely different in the day and at night , so I recommend enjoying both . Even though it was past 8pm, it was bustling with tourists in yukata . The restaurants are open until late, so it might be a good idea to have a drink in the area before heading home. The hotel we stayed at included dinner, so we weren’t hungry, but the delicious aroma lured us in and we ended up buying some midnight snacks. There are long lines at this restaurant, and they also serve yakiniku . The prices are reasonable, so It’s perfect for picking up a few bites to eat while walking around. We took some to go and ate at the hotel, and it was delicious ! The delicious meat was perfectly coated with the sauce, and the aroma of the charcoal grill added to it, making for a fantastic evening in Kusatsu. Next, we ‘ll introduce the Ura Kusatsu Jizo area, which has been gaining attention recently. To get to Ura Kusatsu, turn around from around here at the Yubatake and you’ll find a small path . Follow this path. As you go further in, the atmosphere becomes quieter and more relaxed , unlike the area around the Yubatake . It seems you’ll need to climb the stairs at the back. There are signs, so even first-time visitors can feel at ease. If you follow the arrows, you’ll arrive in about five minutes from the Yubatake . The atmosphere has changed completely, and there are many stylish shops. There is also a Jizo statue here called Mearai Jizo , and it seems that the hot springs here have long been said to be good for the eyes. In front of the hall where the Jizo statue is enshrined , the Jizo hot spring bubbling away. And here you can experience something that is unique to Kusatsu. 帰りました。 English : This is a face bath . When you put your face in this , the steam from the hot spring warms your face. It feels like a steamer and is very pleasant . Also, in Urakusaji there is a public bath called Jizo no Yu that you can enter for free. The source of the hot spring is of course Jizo source temperature, but it is very refreshing. It is said to be good for your eyes, but it stings when you actually put it in , so please be careful. There are also hand baths, foot baths, stylish cafes, and more , so please be sure to visit Ura Kusatsu . Next, I will introduce the area around Nishinokawara Street, where there are many food shops . In contrast to Ura Kusatsu, this area is very crowded with people. There seem to be many places , such as a restaurant where you can eat Joshu beef sukiyaki while soaking in a foot bath, and cute general stores. We were also getting hungry , so let’s go for lunch . We chose a soba noodle shop called Yasuragitei . It seems that they also serve 100% buckwheat soba noodles, with a limited quantity , and it is nice to be able to watch soba noodles being made up close while you wait in line . Since it was lunchtime, there were no restaurants or bars everywhere. The restaurant was extremely busy, but we were able to get a seat much sooner than expected. I ordered the 90% buckwheat soba noodles with maitake mushroom tempura . If you’re in Gunma, the mushroom kingdom, you ‘ll definitely want to try maitake mushrooms. And , what’s more, they even came with a cute sugar candy dessert ! My test order was the limited-edition 100% buckwheat soba. I tried both the 100% buckwheat soba noodles and the 90% buckwheat soba noodles. The 100% had a firm texture and the flavor of the soba really hit the spot . The 90% buckwheat soba noodles were smooth and easy to eat. The maitake mushroom tempura was also thick and had a light fragrance . And the soba soup here was incredibly creamy and delicious. It was the most delicious soba soup I’ve ever had , so I definitely recommend you give it a try! After lunch, it’s time for dessert. Let’s go for some pudding here. There are various types , from the classic egg pudding to puddings with colorful jelly. I chose the Yunomi pudding and the Night Yubatake pudding . The Yumomi pudding was smooth and firm , and mixed with the bitter caramel, it was really delicious. This pudding, inspired by the Night Yubatake , was topped with blue jelly, but when you pour lemon juice over it, the color changes instantly . The refreshing lemon-flavored jelly and smooth pudding combined made for a dish that was both delicious and beautiful . Testoku, who liked the pudding, also purchased the pudding soft serve . 。 無事で還暦祝いで した。 English: Both the pudding and soft serve ice cream were delicious and perfect for an after -meal dessert. As I was walking, I noticed a crowd of people handing out manju. I was also given free tea and smoothly guided into the shop. I was amazed at their sales skills. This appears to be a famous manju shop in Kusatsu. The manju were moist, freshly made and delicious. They make great souvenirs , so I recommend you stop by. Next we went to Osayu, where you can see the monkey yumomi show. The admission fee is 700 yen per adult and it seems to have just started, so let’s go. We got a great view of the monkeys yumomi . Photography was not allowed during the show , so I couldn’t take any, but I was very satisfied with the comical yumomi show. There was also a photo session after the show, so I took lots of pictures of the cute monkeys and it became a good memory of Kusatsu. It’s fun for both adults and children, so I recommend it . Next to the hot water, they were selling after-bath meat buns. They were 350 yen each and were warm and piping hot, making them perfect for the cold season . There was plenty of meat inside, It was perfect for a walk and some food . Next we went to Tanbee Chaya . I was drawn in by the delicious smell of the yakitori. It was huge and looked delicious. It seems they also have a great lunchtime drink set, so if you’re going to go for a drink in Kusatsu, I recommend this place. I bought the Akagi chicken salted and grilled onions, which were absolutely delicious. The flavor of the Akagi chicken really came out and it was delicious . Both the onions and the chicken are Gunma specialties, so it’s nice to be able to eat local food . As I was walking, I discovered another crowd of people. It seems they serve onsen eggs made with hot spring water . They cost 200 yen each. You have to try them, the inside of the onsen egg should be poured over with a thick sauce. The egg was soft-boiled, and the yolk was sweet and delicious. It’s a must-try if you come to Kusatsu. There are also some rare sweets that can only be found in Gunma Prefecture. There are also shops selling fatty tuna milk and lots of Kusatsu-exclusive Rilakkuma items, so it might be fun to wander around and find your favorite shop . And finally, we’d like to introduce this dumpling shop . This shop has a huge queue during the day, but it’s relatively empty at night , so you can easily buy some. At this dumpling shop, you can stamp your own dumplings with the hot spring mark . So, let’s try it! Here you go ! Amazing! Isn’t that enough? 帰りました。 English: Great! Yes , be careful! It’s amazing, isn’t it? It smells amazing! There were many different flavors, but we chose mitarashi dango . Each one was very filling and very satisfying . Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside . The shop staff were very friendly and it became a great memory of my trip . Next, let’s go to Seibu Kawara Park, where you can feel the volume of Kusatsu Onsen’s hot spring water . This is Nishinokawara Park, located on the westernmost side of Kusatsu. As soon as you enter, there is a foot bath . It is large, so it looks like many people can use it. There are Inari shrines and Jizo statues in the park, so it is fun to walk around and pray at the same time. Hot spring water seems to be gushing out from all over , and the amount is 1,400 liters per minute. The hot spring water seems to be flowing like a river. In some places it is quite hot, so be careful when you touch it. I also found a place in the back of the park where people are gathering. When I got closer, I found a large foot bath here as well. The hot spring waterfall is flowing like a waterfall in front of me , which is wonderful. I was soothed by the power of nature. At the very back of the park is the Sainokawara Open-Air Bath, which costs 800 yen per adult. The hot spring uses the Bandai hot spring, which has a temperature of 95 degrees, making it extremely hot. Perhaps because the temperature is well regulated, this hot spring was very comfortable to soak in . The hot spring itself is very spacious, and it was great to stretch out my arms and legs and soak in the open-air bath surrounded by nature. I came to Sainokawara Park for a walk at night , and the lighting was beautiful . This place also had a completely different atmosphere from the daytime , and I felt like I had wandered into another world . It was also very pleasant to soak my feet in the lit-up foot bath. I recommend you enjoy Sainokawara Park both during the day and at night. Finally I’d like to introduce a roadside station near the Onsenmon Gate at the entrance to Kusatsu. It’s a five-minute drive from Kusatsu , and is a large roadside station on both sides of the road. Inside, they sell a variety of souvenirs, including local gacha machines, sweets, food, and goods. They also sell limited edition Gunma Prefecture alcohol, and there’s a wide variety to choose from. They also sell T-shirts and even bear-shaped goods. I also found a gacha machine selling Gunma-chan’s Kusatsu-limited tenugui hand towels. I had to try it! I got a pretty big green tenugui . If I take this with me to Kusatsu, it’ll be perfect. And here , there is a memorial museum for Dr. Erwin Baelz, a German doctor who has ties to Kusatsu. The admission fee is just I took a look around while buying some free souvenirs , and it was a lot of fun! It seems that Mr. Baelz was researching the effects of Kusatsu hot springs , which helped make Kusatsu known all over the world . He apparently stayed in Japan for a long time with his Japanese wife. I highly recommend checking this place out too! Finally, I ‘d like to introduce the hotel where we stayed this time . Hotel Spax Kusatsu is just a seven-minute walk from the Yubatake, so it’s in a great location and perfect for sightseeing. The hot springs use the Bandai hot spring source, the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and it’s the best value for money hotel. I’ve introduced this in another video, so please take a look if you’re interested. This time I ‘ve introduced sightseeing in Kusatsu, Gunma Prefecture. I hope it will be helpful to everyone. See you again!
