This time, we stayed at the beloved Cat Inn. Let these adorable cats soothe you right to the very end. The inn we’re staying at this time is a cat inn in Ehime Prefecture. Currently, 13 cats live at this inn. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM. One cat came out to greet us right away. It’s quite large. Wanting its back rubbed, another one came over before I knew it. So cute… Originally a long-established inn famous for its river fish dishes, it’s now exclusively a cat inn offering room-only stays. Everyone seems to be enjoying a nice nap. Even the slippers have a subtle cat design on them. This inn is home to many cats, and recently, three new kittens joined the family. Three siblings born in March 2025. They’re all full of energy. There are 15 rooms in total, spread across the second and third floors. We recommend the rooms on the second floor, where the cats often come to play. The room rate is just 3,800 yen. To prevent cats from escaping and for soundproofing, the windows are double-paned. It’s a retro inn with a nostalgic feel, and the atmosphere is really nice. The facility guide introduces the cats living at this inn, complete with photos. This room has a small cat-only window in the door. After a little while, a cat promptly came to the room. She’s super relaxed. If you leave the window open, the cats come to play in the room one after another. This is the newcomer, “Komugi.” She’s a lively little girl. She’s very friendly and cute. Even though it’s our first meeting, she shows me absolutely no wariness. She’s more affectionate than the cat we keep at home. He greets me with a deep purr. These whimsical cats wander into a room only to immediately move to another one. That’s another wonderful thing about cats. Next to arrive was “Uni”-kun. He’s a cute boy, but he went off somewhere right away. So cute!!! This one is Yuzu-kun. All three new kittens are adorable and full of energy. To ensure the cats can relax comfortably, interaction time is limited from check-in until 6 PM. It was a short time, but they gave us so much joy—we’re already completely satisfied. Even though they were playing so much, they suddenly get bored and wander off somewhere. Come back to the room~!! The hangers are placed a bit higher to prevent the cats from scratching the clothes. Amenities include a yukata, towels, toothbrush, comb, and razor. There’s an extension cord in the room, which is very convenient. On the table are a cup and instant café latte. All other facilities are located in the common area. The common area has a refrigerator and a water dispenser. A large cat tree in the hallway. Cats roam freely throughout the rooms from the first to third floors. Plenty of manga on the first floor. You can take them to your room and read them freely. Is that okay? They’re sharpening their claws in a super dangerous spot. Whoa. Amazing reflexes. The entire inn is like an obstacle course for cats. Are you okay~!? They do things we never expect, so just watching them is fun. When you make a toy squeak, the young cats react immediately and come to play. It’s also fun to interact with the cats in the hallway. Huh? There’s a black cat on the sink. Maybe it wants water? It’s not drinking… Impossible to predict what it was doing or what it wanted. What are you doing? The behavior of cats is still largely a mystery… The cats at the inn all have beautiful coats and are in great health. They’re clearly being raised with great care. The cats seem to spend more time in the hallway than in the guest rooms. They appear to be carrying toys off somewhere. Where could they be going? Ah! That’s the room where people are staying! Aaaah!!! All sorts of things happen in the hallway. Spotted a cat that’s really mad. Looks like the angry one is a white cat? It glares at the other cat with piercing eyes. It’s growling fiercely… Seems like it just dislikes the white cat for some reason. What on earth happened between these two? Sensing the tension, “Uni” quickly makes his escape. Looking closely, the white cat has a heart pattern on her body. The white cat is Sumomo. The black cat is “Mimi.” Maybe it’s because they’re both girls. Anyway, Mimi-chan is feisty… Sumomo-chan unconsciously slows down. She slowly leaves the room to avoid angering the other. It’s almost 6:00 PM. As mealtime approaches, the cats gather downstairs. Even at night, the cats are full of energy. While playing alone, suddenly a fight breaks out. This is the “Nyan Pro” currently popular at the inn. This is a type of playful roughhousing between cats, not a fight. With energy to spare, they immediately start wrestling play when they spot a partner. A pretty intense battle unfolds. Even though “Uni” is making a surrender pose, the fight continues relentlessly. “Komugi” seems like she hasn’t had enough of the fight yet. She seems to be quite strong. Perhaps the strongest cat at the inn right now is the girl, “Komugi.” Getting to interact with so many cats and even stay overnight? This place is quite the bargain. It’s a very popular inn, so it’s often fully booked a month in advance. If you want to stay, I recommend booking early. At 6:00 PM, it’s time for the cats to return to their rooms. Since 6:00 PM is also dinnertime, they all obediently return to their rooms. The three energetic cats head out into the hallway for a moment. Meanwhile, the cats in the room eat their dinner. Finally, it’s dinner time for the three cats. They returned to the room as if drawn back in. The oldest cat at this inn, aged 17, gets a special menu. Even at 17, its coat is still glossy and shiny. As they get older, their appetite seems to decrease, and they don’t eat much. Any leftover food becomes a meal for the other cats. As if knowing food would be left, they were standing by right in front of the door. And with that, the day with the kitty truly ends. It’s time for the humans to eat too. You can order takeout at the inn. This time we ordered Chinese food, and amazingly, the restaurant staff delivered it right to our room. The menu we ordered this time was Chinese noodles and dumplings. Payment for delivery is cash only. It’s a light ramen with plenty of toppings. The gyoza were crispy and delicious too. The noodles were a bit overcooked, but it was still very tasty. The bath is available 24 hours. Oh~! What a wonderful atmosphere. There are two bath areas. The shower pressure is a bit weak, but the bathroom is spacious and relaxing. It’s a nostalgic bath that reminds me of my grandmother’s house. Tomorrow’s interaction with the cats starts at 6:00 AM. I’ll set my alarm to avoid oversleeping and head to bed early tonight. Well then, good night… I woke up to the sound of a huge cat meowing. This is the “Nyaram” After meowing loudly, it immediately went off somewhere. Guess I don’t need an alarm clock. Other cats come one after another to wake me up too. Seems surprised by the comb it’s seeing for the first time. Sorry the room’s a mess. This time, a giant cat enters the room. Despite its large size, its movements are agile. Since the cats keep coming to wake me up, I guess I have no choice but to get up. Even though it came all this way, it seems it just wanted to explore. It was quick from entering to leaving… They entered the room without mercy even while I was away. You didn’t have to rush off like that… tears Check-out at Matsuraku Ryokan is at 9:00. 人懐っこい猫たちが次々お部屋に遊びに来てくれて、まるで猫に囲まれた夢のような時間でした。
旅館は元々、川魚料理の老舗として親しまれていた宿。
現在は「素泊まり限定」の猫旅館としてリニューアルし、

한국인입니다! 실제로 저와 친구랑 같이 동일한 숙소에서 지냈습니다! 고양이들이 정말 귀엽고…귀엽습니다! 주인분도 정말 친절하셔서 좋았습니다. 외관이 좀 오래되었고 내부도 오래된 느낌이 들지만 뭐랄까.. 그래서 더 정감이 갔습니다! 숙소 근처에 야키토리집이 2곳이 있습니다! 2곳 전부 가보았는데 숙소에서 왼쪽으로 조금 가시면 왼쪽에 골목이 나오는데 그쪽으로 쭉가다보면 야키토리 음식점이 있습니다! 꼭 가보시는걸 추천드립니다!!!
