横浜市港北区の住宅街を抜け、郷土の寺社をめぐる。前回の小机城跡で散々蚊に刺され、まだ腕がかゆい。それでも足を止めずに歩き出すと、静かな道の先に本法寺が現れた。境内には横浜市指定有形文化財の「石造龍吐手水鉢」があり、ひとつの石から彫り上げられたその造形は、長い年月を経てなお見事な姿をしている。陸軍歩兵伍長の墓碑もあり、地域の祈りと歴史が重なり合っていた。さらに進むと、谷戸地形の斜面に「急傾斜地崩壊危険区域」の標識が立っている。人の暮らしと自然がぎりぎりの距離で寄り添うこの町の姿が印象的だった。坂の上には白山稲荷神社、そして雲松院の山門が見える。木々の間を抜ける風が穏やかで、文化財に指定された門の向こうに、時が静かに積もっていた。今日も祈りと暮らしの間を、ゆっくりと歩いた。
