신비로운 황금빛 산을 볼 수 있는 곳, 스위스 체르마트 마테호른 여행 브이로그(황금호른)
Day 7 of my Swiss trip. Departing from Grindelwald, it took 4 hours to arrive in Zermatt. It wasn’t easy because I had to change trains three times. I plan to stay here for 3 nights and 4 days. You can see a lot of electric cars and bicycles in Zermatt. They say that in order to preserve the environment, they control general vehicles except for electric cars. They say it started in 1961, so the effort is amazing. I guess that’s how such a wonderful town can be maintained. I go to my accommodation to put my luggage down. This time, I booked an apartment Airbnb. Hotels with a view of the Matterhorn were too expensive. I’m really looking forward to the view~ What is it? I was embarrassed So this is how I was supposed to raise the blinds Unfortunately, I couldn’t see the Matterhorn that day. When I looked it up, I heard that it was really difficult to see the Matterhorn. I suddenly worried that I might not be able to see the Matterhorn for 3 nights and 4 days. Anyway, the village is really pretty. It feels like I’m in a fairy tale. Now, let’s go see the village. This is the main street of Zermatt. There were a variety of stores, from supermarkets to restaurants and brands. Of course, there were also a lot of souvenir shops~ You can’t leave out chocolate when you think of Switzerland The village is not big, so it was fun to look around. There’s also a statue of Ulrich Indervinen, who climbed the Matterhorn more than 370 times. He was 90 years old when he last climbed it. Isn’t that amazing? This is ‘Hinterdorfstrasse’, an alleyway that means ‘back village street’. Traditional wooden buildings built from the 16th to 18th centuries are lined up. Unlike the bustling main street, it was quiet and nice. I could really feel the most traditional and historical atmosphere in Zermatt. This is how my day in Zermatt passed. The second day in Zermatt. I’m going to see the Matterhorn in earnest. I recommend buying tickets from the staff rather than from the vending machine. The operating hours and cable car times are different, so you have to check with the staff. I’ll show you later what happens if you don’t check. There are three famous observation decks where you can see the Matterhorn: Gornergrat, Rothorn, and Glacier Paradise. On this day, I could only see the Matterhorn clearly from Glacier Paradise, so I set off without hesitation. Before going to Glacier Paradise, I went to the Schwarzsee station first. Actually, I got off at the wrong station. By the way, this cable car is really scary. It’s high and steep, so I was really nervous when I went. People who hike on this steep slope are really amazing. We’ve come up this far. Glacier Paradise is said to be twice as high as Mt. Halla at 3,883m above sea level. They say you can ski even in the summer because there are glaciers 365 days a year. It was the best place for me who loves snow. I can see the Matterhorn a little over there. I’m excited and looking forward to seeing what it will look like. Finally, we arrived at Schwarzsee. The Matterhorn was really close. It was really awesome. The closer we got to the Matterhorn, the more magnificent and majestic it seemed. Everyone was sitting and watching, lost in their hearts. I watched for a while too. I try touching the snow. Before I knew it, it was almost 4 o’clock. Let’s hurry to Glacier Paradise. But… An unexpected problem arose. I was waiting for the gondola to Glacier Paradise, but there was no one there. I found out later that it was almost closing time and I would only be able to see it for 10 minutes even if I went up. The employee was also disappointed, asking if I missed it when I bought the tickets. We bought them from the vending machine. In the end, only the employee and I went up. I was so out of it that my camera shook. As soon as I got off, I ran to watch for 10 minutes and got back on. Of course, I couldn’t take a video. The 10-minute cut-off time attack at the observation deck was a really fun experience (my money…). Still, I was proud when the employee said, “You did it.” Feeling disappointed, I decided to walk down from the middle. I heard laughter from the village. I wanted to join in, so I followed along. It seemed like there was a party or something. I found out that there was a good restaurant, but it was closed. It seems like restaurants in Zermatt close really early. When I came down, the Matterhorn was completely gone. As expected, I bought dinner at Coop. This is a Zermatt beer that you must try in Zermatt! I end the day with a delicious dinner. I woke up early in the morning. I looked out the window half-asleep and saw the Matterhorn so clearly. I couldn’t believe it even when I saw it. On a clear morning like this, you can see the Golden Horn. It’s said that the Matterhorn gets its nickname because it turns golden when the sun rises. I decided to wait for the Golden Horn too (my heart is pounding). Little by little, a red tinge rises in the blue sky. Isn’t the color so pretty? I can finally see the Golden Horn. Starting from the top, the golden light gradually envelops the Matterhorn. The Matterhorn is a very difficult mountain to climb because it is so steep and the weather changes drastically. Perhaps that’s why it’s famous as a mountain that many mountaineers want to challenge, but when I actually saw it, I couldn’t even think about challenging it. That grandeur that seemed to pierce the sky seemed to tell me to be infinitely humble. Do I deserve to see such a wonderful view? No matter how much I thought about it, it seemed like it wasn’t enough. Now that I think about it, I’ve had a lot of thoughts since this morning. Haha. I decided to go to Rothorn, another Matterhorn observation deck. To get to Rothorn, you have to go via Sunnegga and Blauherd, but the cable car between Blauherd and Rothorn was under repair. It’s a shame, but I decided to only go as far as Blauherd. If you can just see the Matterhorn, what does the location matter? I arrived at Blauherd. I found a really cute goat doll at the store! We’ve also got our Matterhorn zipper pullers. Now, let’s get started. The scenery here was breathtakingly beautiful. From this perspective, the Matterhorn, towering alone, was even more visible. The center of the Matterhorn peak is said to be much harder than the surrounding rock. It’s said that the surrounding softer rock has been eroded over time, creating its sharp, pointed shape. The section from Blauherd to Sunnegga is known as the Five Lakes Hiking Trail, famous for its unique charms. It takes about four hours to hike all five lakes. We were quite exhausted, so we decided to see only three. We discovered a miniature version of the Matterhorn! After about 30 minutes of walking, we arrived at the first lake. Lake Stelli. The Matterhorn reflected in the lake is beautiful. The water was incredibly clear and transparent, almost capturing the entire landscape within the lake’s surface. We didn’t want to leave just yet, so we decided to have a quick snack before heading out. I brought some potatoes and bread. Lake Stellisee was a beautiful sight when calm, and a beautiful sight when the wind blew. It was truly beautiful. I sat down for a moment and admired the Matterhorn. Lake Stelli was apparently formed by glaciers. During the Ice Age, massive glaciers eroded the ground, and melted snow and rainwater pooled there. Since I can’t see glaciers in Korea, the very word “glacier” really excited me. Sadly, I decided to head to the next lake. Next, I decided to visit Lake ‘MOOSJI’, which is close to the Sunnegga station. You can take the gondola down to Sunnegga, so I headed back to the gondola station. It was September, but the sun was out, so it wasn’t cold and it was perfect for a walk. I found a herd of goats eating grass over there! I wanted to see the goats, so I crawled up the slope. But when I got all the way up, they came down. I came up for no reason. I looked them up and found that they’re called “black-necked goats.” I imagine goats would be very happy living in a place like this. I headed back to the station. Because it was such a high altitude, I definitely got out of breath quickly. I arrived at Sunnegga. But there was a familiar-looking sign. I couldn’t believe it, but it was “Ganse,” the symbol of the Jeju Olle Trail! I found out that this 5th lake trail connects to the ‘Jeju Olle Trail Course 6’ and the Friendship Trail. This trail suddenly felt familiar. I decided to have lunch before starting my hike in earnest. Fortunately, there were plenty of great restaurants in the village near Sunnegga. After walking for about 10 minutes, I arrived at the village. Among the nearby mountain restaurants, I went to ‘Paradise’, which was relatively close. I didn’t realize it when I saw it from a far, but there were a lot of people. I sat in the seat with the best view of the Matterhorn. Is this really the view you can get from a restaurant..! I ordered pasta and a bagel sandwich, but it was so cold that the food got cold as soon as it was served. With this kind of scenery, how could the food cool down a little? The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, the view was great, and it was the best. I could hear the children’s laughter. I wish all children in the world could be that bright and happy. Now, let’s head back to ‘MOOSJI’ Lake. After walking for about 30 minutes, I arrived at the lake. Google said it was 15 minutes, but it took longer because it was downhill. You should definitely wear sneakers! Moosji Lake is famous for its turquoise water. It is the only artificial lake among the five lakes. It stores water to be used to make artificial snow for the surrounding ski resorts. Although it is an artificial lake, the water flows from the surrounding natural glaciers. The fine rock powder mixed in the water reflects sunlight and turns blue. The emerald color was truly mystical. I was once again amazed by the colors created by nature. The last lake is Lai Lake, the closest to Sunnegga Station. The road to here was uphill, so it was really difficult. Finally, we arrived at Lake ‘Lei’. There were good picnic facilities around Lake ‘Lei’. There was a children’s playground, so many families came. There was also a lift connected to Sunnegga Station, so it would be good for those who have difficulty walking. Unfortunately, it was time to go down. It was already past 5 o’clock when I came down. I wanted to go to Gornergrat, but time seemed tight, so I decided to explore the city. The Matterhorn seen from the city had a different feel. It didn’t stand out too much and seemed to blend in well with the town. There were telescopes that allowed me to see the Matterhorn, which I couldn’t see with the naked eye. I could see the shape of the rock, the glacier, and the texture. I bought dinner at the Coop and went back to the accommodation. Most of the shops in Zermatt close between 6 and 7 pm. So I had to get up early in the morning, but that was really hard for me. On my last evening in Switzerland, I ambitiously tried fondue. The dinner menu was fondue, meat, and spicy stir-fried chicken noodles. It was delicious, probably because it was good cheese. Tomorrow, I have to take the early morning train to Italy. Once the sun sets, the Matterhorn won’t be visible, so this is the last view of it. I couldn’t sleep because I was sad. In the next video, I’ll cover my trip to Italy. I hope everyone who watches this video is happy.
