4 Days 3 Nights in Wuhan 📍Hankou
2025.04.07~2025.04.10 who doesn’t want to work Hello everyone 👋 I’m Xiaolin who doesn’t want to work! This time, I’m going to take you to Wuhan for four days and three nights! Station📍High
Since I was on exchange at Nanjing University at the time , I took the high-speed train from Nanjing South Station to Hankou Station in second class.
Nanjing South Railway Station Hankou Station The ticket price was CNY 200 (TWD 845).
-speed Rail🚄 Because I arrived at noon to catch the train , I went straight to eat at China Railway’s Satay Pork Chop Set Meal! A bento box cost CNY 30 (TWD 130) . I personally thought it was okay ✅ , but I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of people eating instant noodles nearby 🍜 . After 📍Manxing Hotel📍Lihuangpi
getting off the train, I arrived at the Manxing Hotel! The advantage of this hotel is that it’s right next to Lihuangpi Road, so the location is convenient ! A double room at this hotel without breakfast costs CNY 165 (TWD 700) per night. I originally booked three nights , but because this hotel doesn’t have an elevator and the sheets and towels weren’t very clean 😅, I checked out after one night! Road📍Bagong
After dropping off my luggage at the hotel, I went to Lihuangpi Road! Lihuangpi Road used to be part of the Russian Concession in Hankou. Its Russian name is Русская концессия в Ханькоу. It’s named Lihuangpi Road in honor of Huangpi, the ancestral home of Li Yuanhong, the former president of the Republic of China. This road really gives you a pleasant feeling!
House📍Lihuangpi And along the way, you can see the Bagong House! The Bagong House is a Russian-style apartment building built in 1910! I think the Bagong House is a bit like the Wukang Building in Shanghai . When you walk past it, many people will ask if you want to take pictures 😂. Since my roommate and I didn’t have a budget for taking pictures 😅 , we went straight to the back of the Bagong House and unexpectedly found it to be super beautiful too! Road📍Huafa
There are also two rather nice hotels there , and across the street is the Hankou Bund 🤩. I think the Hankou Bund is somewhat similar to the Bund in Shanghai . I think the Starbucks on the mainland is really unique! Because it combines with local ancient or characteristic architecture to create new life— this kind of architecture doesn’t feel out of place
Bund📍Baoyuanli📍Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street📍Luzhuang📍Grandpa ; instead, it showcases the city ‘s creativity and vitality within its historical and cultural context! I heard this is Wuhan’s most mysterious luxury residential area, no wonder it’s so beautifully decorated! Doesn’t Make Tea📍Gude Temple📍Yuexing Kitchen📍Xiaolin
Maybe because I hadn’t paid much attention to Wuhan before , I didn’t have high expectations , but I was really surprised when I arrived 😯 because the European-style architecture paired with the lighting creates a really atmospheric feel. I think Wuhan, compared to other cities, has fewer people and doesn’t have the intense competition of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen! So you can have a comfortable and relaxing vacation here , just strolling around casually. And as we walked, it got dark .
Yellow Crane Tower (Wuhan My roommate, Xiao B, said: “I think staying at that hotel is so wonderful 😊 I feel wonderful too— after all, it’s the Xuan Palace Hotel in Wuhan! It’s the oldest existing European-style hotel in Hubei Province 🏨 Then we continued to stroll along Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street! I think this place looks a lot like
Ximending a combination of Ximending and a night market in Taiwan.
Night Market I’ve noticed that not every city in mainland China has such a long night market or nightlife. For example, in Nanjing, where I was an exchange student, I never visited such a long night market 😂. So I booked a hotel nearby so I could spend three days exploring night markets and eating delicious food! Tiandi)📍Wuhan
In the evening, we ate at Lu Zhuang, a small, unassuming restaurant on Jianghan Road! I ordered braised Sweet and sour pork tenderloin,
Spicy and Sour Cabbage lotus root and twice-cooked pork
Spicy and Sour Potato , which came to a total of CNY 66 (TWD 280). It was really cheap and delicious, highly recommended! Back to Hotel to Rest ~
My roommate, Xiao B, exclaimed: “Hey! His bed is so small!” My roommate, Xiao B, added: “I didn’t see such a small bed!” Yangtze
The next morning, we went to drink tea from a Wuhan-based brand. Grandpa Doesn’t Make Tea I really think that beverage shops in mainland China are all very extravagant and huge! Because beverage shops in Taiwan are generally quite small, I ordered a Kongshan Gardenia drink and a layered milk mini bread, which cost CNY 13.9 (TWD 60). I personally thought it was delicious! River
Then, I took my favorite drink, Grandpa’s No-Tea, to our next stop, Gude Temple Gude Temple. The overall building area isn’t very large, and the entrance fee is CNY 13 (TWD 55). You can see everything in about an hour. Gude Temple was built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. The temple blends the characteristics of Eurasian religious architecture, integrating Mahayana, Theravada, and Tibetan Buddhism— a rare combination among Han Chinese Buddhist temples! Gude Temple is also known as “a great wonder of Buddhist holy sites” and “the first wonder of Han Chinese Buddhist temples!” Gude Temple preserves Gothic Christian Church
Shreds Roman Catholic Church a Byzantine-style Orthodox church
Islamic-style mosque, “Burmese Buddhist Temple,” ”
Architectural Style.” and even incorporates architectural styles from ancient Greek temples. Walking into Gude Temple was truly an eye-opening experience! Having visited so many countries , I’ve never seen a temple that integrates so many religious architectural styles! And you can see tons of pigeons at Gude Temple 🕊️ My roommate, Xiao B, said: “So beautiful! I heard pigeons are a symbol of peace , so seeing a flock of pigeons soaring over the temple roof really adds a mysterious and ancient atmosphere to the temple~ But these pigeons are really elusive 😅 because I waited here for a long time before I finally got a picture! So seeing pigeons is something you just have to try your luck 😂 Bridge📍Fang
For lunch, we went to a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, Yuexing Xiaochu! I ordered a lemon sweet and sour pork, shredded pork with garlic sauce , and a stir-fried vegetable dish, plus two bowls of rice, for a total of CNY94 (TWD400). I personally thought it was okay , but not worth coming Zhanggui
here specifically for. After lunch, we went to our next stop, Wuhan Tiandi and I saw on Xiaohongshu that many people come here to check out this big screen.” That’s why I came! Walking in, you’ll find a shopping mall. Wuhan Tiandi is a unique street area transformed from old buildings , containing several buildings over 150 years old. Wuhan Tiandi complements Shanghai Xintiandi’s emphasis on architectural preservation and sustainable development , restoring historical buildings and integrating them into a wider community. Simply put, it’s an outdoor food street combined with history— lots of cafes, restaurants, and beverage shops! My favorite drink at BaWang ChaJi is Qilixiang
Amber Light a cup for CNY 18 (TWD 75) , it’s really delicious! ✅ Wuchang 📍Yellow
After finishing BaWang ChaJi, I headed to my next stop, the Fish📍Wuhan Yellow Crane Tower. Tickets are CNY 70 (TWD 300) in peak season and CNY 60 (TWD 255) in off-season. I think the environment here is really nice; you can hear birds chirping as you stroll. Since I arrived at the Yellow Crane Tower at 5 pm , I could directly enjoy the sunset! However, a word of caution: 🔔 Don’t arrive at 5 PM like Xiaolin did! 😅 The Yellow Crane Tower only opens until 6 PM during the day, meaning you’ll only have a rushed, scrambling visit. Looking for a Shooting Angle
My roommate, Xiao B, asked: “Is this spot backlit ?” 😂 “Or can we go to the back?” So, my roommate and I went to another side to find a better spot for photos 📷 and prepared to climb the tower! However, since the elevators at the Yellow Crane Tower are chargeable, my roommate and I, wanting to save money 😂 , decided to walk up directly 💪 The Yellow Crane Tower is located on the top of Snake Mountain at an altitude of 61.7 meters ⛰️ It has 5 floors and a building area of 3219 square meters! The Yellow Crane Tower is 51.4 meters tall and shaped like a yellow crane, ready to take flight! The roof is covered with over 100,000 yellow glazed tiles ! Looking up occasionally, it was truly magnificent 😯 Then I started diligently climbing the stairs! But I felt quite accomplished! Because the view from the top was truly beautiful— every floor offered a different perspective! In that instant, you’ll understand what “beautiful” truly means. “Seeing a Thousand Miles Further
Further Up Of course, the phrase itself has nothing to do with the Yellow Crane Tower ; what truly matters is the line itself The Old Friend Bids Farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower
,” ” . I visited the Yellow Crane Tower at the beginning of the third lunar month and then went to Yangzhou at the end of March , so The Old Friend Bids Farewell to the Yellow Crane Tower
Fireworks the poetic imagery combined with the distant, ink-painting-like scenery was truly unrealistically beautiful! From here, you can also see the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway trains rushing past below. So Great ~ There’s a train next to it! The highway, the railway, the Yangtze River, the sunset , and the distant buildings— it’s a truly perfect composition! I must say, the Yellow Crane Tower itself is also magnificent! I heard there’s a light show at the Yellow Crane Tower at night, but the daytime ticket price is CNY 70 (TWD 300), while the evening price is CNY 120 (TWD 510)! So my roommate and I didn’t participate in the show 😂 We decided to use that money to eat Wuchang fish that night! Yangtze River Bridge📍Yellow Crane
Then we walked all the way from the Yellow Crane Tower to the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge! The Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is a railway and highway bridge across the Yangtze River and the first permanent bridge across the Yangtze, hence its name “The First Bridge Across the Yangtze River!” Tower📍Tanhualin📍Jianghan
That night, we ate Wuchang fish at Fang Zhanggui’s restaurant next door! I ordered a cherry blossom pudding ice cream, braised chicken, steamed pork ribs, and of course, the most important thing: Wuchang fish cooked in spring water. But I felt the bones in the Wuchang fish were so small and numerous , I couldn’t possibly pick them all out 😭. The whole meal cost CNY 168 (TWD 710). I personally thought the food was okay , but the desserts were really cute! Road
This is the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge at night ; the highway is above and the railway is below—it ‘s so cool! Pedestrian Street📍Hello
This is the Yellow Crane Tower Hotel
after it’s lit up at night. Then I rode my bicycle to my next stop, Tan Hualin! Tan Hualin is a cultural district with over 600 years of history. It was once a gathering place for literati during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now, it blends historical buildings, artsy shops , and modern art , becoming Wuhan’s most artistic and trendy spot! ( I
After leaving Tan Hualin, I returned to Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street next to the hotel! I think the streets here are really big and beautiful , with so many shops ; I spent several days exploring and still couldn’t see everything! And the gold shops here are really extravagant and oversized (Taiwanese for “shrimp-pa”)— several stories high, and there are even people dancing on them!? Crane Tower Silver Shop Dance 💃 ‘m
Because the last hotel was so terrible , my roommate and I decided to retreat to the Hello Hotel! The double room without breakfast was CNY250 (TWD1055) per night. I personally thought it was quite comfortable and clean overall , but the room was a bit small. My roommate, Xiao B, said: “I didn’t expect it to be so small 😂”. 📍Hubei Provincial Museum
The next morning, we went to the magnificent Hubei Provincial Museum! This is the tiger-shaped bird-shaped drum in the 800 Years of Chu exhibition hall. This is the gold-inlaid colorless sapphire hat in the Liangzhuang King exhibition hall. I heard that the olive-shaped colorless sapphire on the top is 200 carats.
super expensive!) Golden Phoenix Pattern Pendant,
I can only say that the Liangzhuang King exhibition area is really decadent and dazzling. It’s all gold and gemstones. It ‘s really very luxurious! Golden Phoenix Hairpin,
I heard that this place is full of testaments to the love between Liangzhuang King and his queen 🫶. Pottery Figurine
And I think some of the burial objects are really funny. I just want to laugh when I see them 😂. , Pottery Tomb Guardian Beast
My roommate, Xiao B, said: “Heh 😆”. My roommate, Xiao B, said: “What about all the things in front of you?!” 😂 in March Down to Yangzhou,” “Fireworks in March Down to Yangzhou,” “Marquis Yi of Zeng
Next, we went to see the legendary Marquis Yi of Zeng’s chime bells. This exhibition hall is really big, with two floors! The longest section of the Marquis Yi of Zeng’s chime bells is , 7.48 meters
2.65 meters the largest and best-preserved ancient Chinese musical instrument to date! However, for some reason, this exhibition area had a particularly solemn feel,
‘s Bianzhong, ” “Marquis Yi perhaps because there were coffins inside , and these coffins even had inner and outer sections! I heard that the exterior weighs a whopping seven tons!
7-Ton Finally, let’s see the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue!
of Zeng’s Inner and Outer Coffins, ” “Sword of King Goujian of Yue, ” ” The Sword of Goujian is 55.7 cm long, 4.6 cm wide, and weighs 875 grams , but it’s much shorter than I imagined , and you can hardly see it at all 😂. 📍East Lake
Then we took the subway to our next stop, East Lake! East Lake has a water area of 33 square kilometers , six times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou and four times the size of Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan! So, it sounds like we couldn’t walk the whole thing 😅, so my roommate and I decided to ride Hello Bikes around the lake. This is the Chutian Terrace in East Lake ; the overall architecture is modeled after the Zhanghua Terrace from the Spring and Autumn Period ! East Lake is also famous for its beautiful scenery , and I must say, everywhere here is like a traditional Chinese ink painting , with the water and sky blending seamlessly, so beautiful it seems unreal! Then I cycled to Lingbo Gate in East Lake. Lingbo Gate means “walking lightly on the water, her silk stockings stirring up dust,” a phrase describing the graceful figure of the goddess Luo Shen floating lightly on the water. But since I’m not Luo Shen 😂 and I can’t do the “lightly on the water” technique, I was really worried I’d fall off the bridge. 📍Hankou River Beach 📍Jianghan
Wearing a long dress, I cycled for almost two hours before arriving at Hankou Beach to take the ferry! The ferry ticket was CNY 1.5 (TWD 7) , which was very economical ✅. However, because the ferry is primarily for transportation , the view was partially obstructed 😂. Wow, the night view of Hankou Beach was so beautiful 🤩! It was like a rainbow of lights, completely different from the daytime! The light show felt specially designed because it would suddenly turn blue and then red, giving a unified visual impact! The ferry route runs from Hankou Wuhan Customs Wharf Wuchang Zhonghua Road Wharf
Round Trip Available 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM, with a single trip taking about 15 minutes. The lights and shadows of the buildings were reflected on the Yangtze River. The shimmering night view, rippling with the river’s waves , felt like stepping into a novel. The best part is, this experience only costs 1.5 yuan! I highly recommend this trip! 💯 Customs Building
After disembarking, visit the century-old Jianghan Customs House! 📍Luzhuang
Then, because Luzhuang is so cheap and delicious✅ , my roommate and I ate there a second time! 📍Cai Mingwei
The next morning, we went to Cai Mingwei Wuhan Hot Dry Noodles near the restaurant , but Xiaolin really doesn’t like noodles 😅 and can’t get up in the morning 😂 , so my roommate dragged me there 😭. Turns out, the hot dry noodles were incredibly delicious! And a bowl only cost CNY5 (TWD22) . 📍Optics Valley Skyrail
Then we took the subway 🚇 to the Wuhan Optics Valley Skyrail! The Wuhan Optics Valley Skyrail opened in 2023 and is the first suspended monorail system in mainland China! If you look closely, you’ll notice that the Optics Valley Skyrail’s track is above the train! 😯 The Optics Valley Skyrail is driverless , with 270-degree panoramic carriages and transparent floors. A ride on the Optics Valley Skyrail costs CNY30 (TWD130) , but Xiaolin was in a rush and didn’t get to ride it. 😅 📍Optics Valley Pedestrian Street
Then she took the subway 🚇 to the next stop, Optics Valley Pedestrian Street! There she discovered a huge golden house there! The scenery of Optics Valley Pedestrian Street was designed by the Hong Kong Disneyland team! This is the Duomo Cathedral located on the Italian Scenic Street in Optics Valley! It’s the heart of the entire pedestrian street ! Wow! This scene truly gives you the illusion of being in Europe— the red flags paired with the statues really make you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale world! Optics Valley Pedestrian Street is free to enter , and it’s usually not crowded, so it’s perfect for taking photos 📷 Finally, she arrived at the French Style Street! There are many restaurants, cafes, and beverage shops here , and there’s even a fountain —it’s full of French romance! Although Optics Valley Pedestrian Street is beautiful and doesn’t require an entrance fee , I felt it was so deserted that it was almost deserted . It didn’t have the bustling atmosphere of Disneyland, so walking around felt a bit strange 🤨. Since I had to catch the high-speed train 🚄 soon , I decided to grab a bite to eat first! 📍Qianjin Route 5 🍔
The place I ate at was called Qianjin Fifth Road Burger & Fried Chicken 🍔🍗. I ordered a cheese waterfall chicken leg burger , honey mustard fries, and a jasmine milk tea. Using a Meituan coupon, it cost CNY 22.9 (TWD 100). I personally think it was cheap and delicious, and I highly recommend it! After finishing the burger, my four-day, three-night trip to Wuhan, where I walked almost 60,000 steps, came to an end! Xiaolin who doesn’t want to work
,” “Anecdotes,” This sword is way too short! ? Hey~ don’t you think this road is very long? Roommate Xiao B: Awesome! There’s a train right next to it! If you like my video, please like, share, and subscribe! The End Xiaolin
