奥多摩湖は、多摩川を小河内ダム(おごうちダム)によって堰き止めてできた人造湖で「ダム湖百選」に選定されおり、東京都を代表する紅葉名所の一つとしても知られ「日本紅葉の名所100選」に選定されています。
大麦代(おおむぎしろ)園地は、奥多摩湖の小河内ダム近くにあるパーキングエリアで、背後の丘陵に散策道や展望台が整備されています。
■奥多摩湖 湖岸道路 ( 東京都 )
小河内神社(おごうちじんじゃ)は、奥多摩湖中央部の半島にあり、小河内ダムの底に沈んだ、小河内村の神社を集めて合祀された神社です。境内や周囲の湖畔も含めて、展望が開けた場所があり、紅葉狩りを満喫するビューポイントとしても素晴らしいロケーションです。
■奥多摩湖 山のふるさと村 ( 東京都 )
「山のふるさと村」は、奥多摩湖の南岸にある自然公園施設で、奥多摩湖の水辺へ降りられる数少ない場所の一つです。キャンプ場や宿泊できるログケビン施設も併設しており、湖畔を歩く「奥多摩湖いこいの路」も整備されています。
■奥多摩湖 月夜見駐車場 ( 東京都 )
月夜見(つきよみ)第一駐車場は、奥多摩湖の南の丘陵を登っていく「奥多摩周遊道路」でもっとも眺めの良い展望地です。
■鳩ノ巣渓谷 ( 東京都 )
鳩ノ巣渓谷(はとのすけいこく)は、多摩川の上流部にある渓谷で、約500mにわたって巨岩や奇岩が連なります。ちなみに多摩川全域が「21世紀に残したい日本の自然100選」に選定されていて、「東京のオアシス」ともいえる自然豊かな河川です。
■御岳渓谷 ( 東京都 )
御岳渓谷(みたけけいこく)も、多摩川の上流部にある渓谷で、鳩ノ巣渓谷から約7km下流に位置します。「御岳渓流」とも呼ばれ、環境省の「名水百選」に選ばれており、「秩父多摩甲斐国立公園」内でも特に美しい清流景観とされています。
■中津峡 ( 埼玉県 )
中津峡(なかつきょう)は、埼玉県の奥秩父エリアにある峡谷で、紅葉の名所として知られており「日本の紅葉百選」に選定されています。荒川の源流のひとつ、中津川の上流に位置し、約10kmにわたり複雑に入り組んだV字谷が続きます。
■中川温泉 ( 神奈川県 )
中川温泉(なかがわおんせん)は、丹沢湖の北方にある紅葉が美しい温泉郷で、「日本の紅葉百選」に選定されています。中川温泉から河内川の上流に進むとキャンプ場が複数あり、河川を取り囲む周辺の山々の紅葉美も見事です。
■丹沢湖 ( 神奈川県 )
丹沢湖は、神奈川県の西部に位置する人造湖で、湖畔からの富士山の眺望が有名です。丹沢湖は人造湖ですが、周囲の自然とよく調和しており、「ダム湖百選」や「かながわの景勝50選」に選ばれています。
■芦ノ湖 元箱根 ( 神奈川県 )
箱根は、箱根山の火山活動によって形成された高原地帯で、紅葉名所として知られており「日本の紅葉百選」に選定されています。
芦ノ湖(あしのこ)は、箱根山の火山活動によってできたカルデラ湖で、南東岸の「元箱根」は富士山が望める人気スポットで、遊覧船の発着港もあり多数の便が運行されています。
■恩賜箱根公園 ( 神奈川県 )
恩賜箱根公園(おんしはこねこうえん)は、芦ノ湖の西岸から突き出た塔ヶ島と呼ばれる半島にある公園で、離宮を模した「湖畔展望館」のデッキから芦ノ湖と富士山が一望できます。
■箱根 山のホテル ( 神奈川県 )
「山のホテル」は、芦ノ湖湖畔にあるリゾートホテルで、まるで古城が建っているような白い壁と赤い屋根が印象的です。ホテルの本館前には手入れの行き届いた庭園があり、秋の紅葉時期の美しさは格別です。
■芦ノ湖 湖尻 ( 神奈川県 )
芦ノ湖の西北岸は「湖尻」(こじり)と呼ばれており、観光遊覧船のターミナル港があるほか、大涌谷へ通じる「箱根ロープウエイ」の始発駅もあります。
■多摩湖 ( 東京都 )
多摩湖(正式名称「村山貯水池」)は、東京都東大和市の狭山丘陵に造られた人造湖で、ダムの堰堤がある北東岸からは富士山が望め、湖畔の紅葉も素晴らしく「日本の紅葉百選」に選定されています。
