🇹🇱 MON TANK URAL SE TRANSFORME EN SOUS-MARIN – TIMOR-LESTE (Part 4)

In Timor-Leste, there are only two roads that cross the country from east to west. The northern one is paved, and the southern one… well, there isn’t a road. Damn! Damn! T-80 tank or TK-208 submarine? There, I’ve put away my hammock, and we’re going to explore the village as it wakes up. The dogs that barked all night. So, you bastards, you barked all night. There. This is Grandma’s house. – Hello. I’m kindly invited to lunch with tea and bananas with “trigo.” “Trigo,” that’s wheat, I think. Wheat? Here’s the head of the family. The head of the family. Oh, that’s great. Well, I asked him how much I owed for the meal. He said, “No, no, we’re treating you.” We’re treating you. Unbelievable. Oh, sorry! Oh! Oh! I didn’t see you. But then? I stepped on it. I didn’t see. Water. They have to fetch water from the well to wash themselves, to do laundry. The woodpile for cooking. There’s a fire everywhere for cooking there. He says the hamlet has existed for about ten years. So, they make their own palm wine. The bamboo is ready to be harvested. Palm juice. They cut the palm leaf, the frond, and at the base of the cut, they apply this tube, and for a day, the palm sap will seep into it. Then, this sap is put in this container, which will ferment for a day. And after the whole system, the fermented and filtered liquid will be put here. We can see some there. We light it underneath. We put the… This is pottery that is made in Lospalos. They apply this filter stopper here. They will apply… like earth to seal, to make the system airtight. And then, well, like a still, the alcohol vapor will come out through these small holes. The tube will be applied to the holes, and then the gas, as it moves through this tube, will cool down and become liquid again. At the end of the tube, there will be a bottle ready for consumption. And it sells for $3 for a 33 cl bottle. There you go! It’s working there. So here, we have the kind of clay glue. They’re preparing the sausages to seal the pottery filter. The fire is going. Here’s the palm juice that’s ready. It’s heating up, it’s boiling. And now, they’re going to apply the filter. The glue they use to seal the filter onto the boiling pot is clay mixed with fiber, fruit, palm. There, this is the fruit of the palm tree. They use the fiber here, which they mix with clay, and it becomes a glue. So, in the filter, they add this kind of wood to give the alcohol a better flavor. Incredible. Wow, incredible. I’m really happy. I missed that step, but he sealed the filter with the paste, and now he’s sealing the bamboo. Where the holes are. There. Wow! As I’m talking with Jeff, the problem… there’s already an educational problem with throwing all the plastics and packaging on the ground, but then it becomes difficult for them because even if they collect the waste from bins , what do they do with it? There’s no recycling plant, no truck that can come here once a week to take it to Dilli. So it’s a real problem. A political decision, from the government. Apparently, they collect it in the capital, in Dili, but still. And well, this country does have oil, you know. This country has oil, but the trash is on the ground. What a shame. I’m leaving this small, family-run hamlet by the beach with a heavy heart because I received such a warm welcome. We’re now heading onto a road that I think will be in terrible condition for at least 100-150 km. I have no other choice and I don’t want to take the main road, which is on the other side of the island. To take the same route again. So we’ll stay south on a terrible road. Alright, bye! – Be careful! I’ve barely left when it starts to rain. Nothing is ever easy. I take advantage of the situation to stop here because there’s a shelter, and they’re rare. So apparently it’s a very modest motorcycle garage. And here we are before tackling the mountain. But it’s going to be tough because all my rain gear, well, I left it outside and it got soaked overnight. This is going to be a very long day; it’s raining almost the whole time. So a small tree prevents the worst. And it’s rocky, you know. Look at even the two-wheelers, they’re struggling. Look how it’s shaking. Waiting for the downpour to pass. Being under a tree like a soaking wet dog. Such is my fate today. Here we go again. Soaked to the bone. The weather’s so awful she doesn’t even bother leaving when I arrive. Yeah, it’s steep, hot, wet, and scorching. Perfect weather for the Grenadiers of Izone. I’m really lucky. I found shelter at this guy’s place. I was able to put it under the shed there because it’s raining there, and he even has a little bit of Wi-Fi. Fantastic. Thanks. His daughter gave me the code. Oh, great. We’re battling it out. Wow! The problem is, everything I go downhill, I’ll have to climb back up. And when I was going the other way yesterday, well, there are some serious slopes. This thing isn’t making fast progress, but there’s music, that’s the most important thing. Well, I should be arriving in Lospalos soon after this ordeal, but the road is still not good. I’ve finally reached Lospalos and I’m taking a new road now, but it seems just as wrecked. Oh [ __ ] I don’t even know where I’m going. I took the right road. And now, discovery. Discovery. Oh [ __ ] where is it? Yeah, when you’re in a small town with narrow streets, it’s hard to find your way without GPS and no connection. So with my phone, I don’t have the details. Okay, let’s head towards Leuro. So it’s another road to reach the south coast that I couldn’t reach by the first road because of a river. Hello! It’s slippery and on top of that, my tires are almost bald. So, should we hide? Ah, they’re beautiful, aren’t they? Yeah. Well, it’s going to be a long day. I’m going to have to drive 100-150 km on a road that’s in terrible condition. Look at it, wrecked. And it’ll be like this, or worse, for 100-150 km. After that, I was told it gets better. I filled up the tank, that’s good, I can go anywhere. I’m happy, I doubled my speed. The road is a bit smoother. Well, it’s still a bumpy ride, but you can go a bit faster. Okay, my fender’s making noise. I don’t like that. Let’s check it. I’m relieved. Actually, it was the plates that were vibrating. So, I tightened them here and put them back in place here. Phew! Even so, I’m trying to go at the most suitable pace to protect the chassis and the engine. Yeah, I like it. If it stays like this, it’s better. I’m doing 30-40 km/h whereas before I was between 5 and 15 km/h. Maybe there are fewer trucks passing through here. Maybe that’s why it’s not so bad. Or maybe it was built last. There are satellite dishes. Yes. And no, I found the culprit behind the noise. It doesn’t sound like much, but it makes a hell of a racket. So we’re going to tighten everything up. But I have to unpack everything. That’s the annoying thing about tires, it makes a mess. Okay, after the rain, the fog. And now we’re going to climb Everest. Wow. Okay, time to stop the downpour. I found a tree to take shelter in for a little while. Here’s the road. I got my hopes up when I saw the almost smooth tarmac earlier. Uh, 2 PM, I left around 8:30. So that’s 5 hours for 50 km. I still have 10 km to go down to the coast, and then we’ll make the climb longer. Yeah, I’m not surprised now that I see how tough it really is. I’m taking it easy. These are challenges, but I’m zen. It’s tough sometimes. But it’s athletic. Come on, as soon as it calms down, we’ll set off again. Well, I’ve been waiting for half an hour, and my shirt is soaked, so we’ll keep going. It won’t change anything. Come on. Beer break. Beer break, but we’re never at peace. In my opinion, there must have been a big party or a wedding , but they can’t tell me because we can’t understand each other. Technology. They’re all well-dressed. Yeah, I can’t get through here. So I’ll have to go through the river. I saw a path there that goes down to the river. Yeah. After this long, long, very rough descent, I’m almost at level ground. Yeah, I should be at level ground now, but you know, there are surprises. Still a bit wet. I dried off while riding. Here’s the crossing. River. And the road picks up again here. An Ural can go anywhere. It’s not like I’ve been riding this thing for eight hours, you know. And it’s not over yet. And it’s not over yet. I’ll have to find somewhere to sleep tonight. I’ll try asking locals if I can set up my hammock and if I can eat with them, we’ll see. Because this place is in the middle of nowhere. There’s no supermarket. Judging by the vegetation, I think I’ve reached sea level, but I haven’t been able to see that yet. Look. Okay, it’s a bit less bumpy. I can manage second gear pretty well now. Right now, I’m in first, but I’ve got the camera in my hand and I’m out of battery for the other GoPro, the fixed one. It’s beautiful when it’s small. I prefer them on a plate. But it’s imposing. I’m not going to go and pet them. Yes, I’m coming. I’m coming. That’s beautiful. I can’t go there, there’s the river. Damn. I asked the guy if I could go through there. He said yes. Ah, maybe over there. No! Because I’m just parallel to the so-called official road , and I asked some locals there if I could pass. They said “hm,” but I don’t think they understand me. I even showed them the map, but… there are a lot of people who can’t read a map on Earth. It’s impressive. Impressive. And I’m not just talking about here; in big cities in South America, they can’t even read a map. Well, there it is, big river. Okay, I have to cross this one. I already got stuck on one yesterday, but this time, I’m not going to let myself get caught out. Damn, the bridge is right there. What am I going to do? What am I going to do? Maybe they’ve built another road over there. Okay , I went back to the guys who told me it was possible. And apparently, they’re going to take me on a motorbike. I’m going to follow them, but I can’t turn on the fixed camera because my battery’s dead. Too bad. I would have liked to film this. And I just lost this. Look, I just lost this. Okay. Well, I’ll follow him. So, Ade and Aseo brought me back to the same spot where I was talking earlier by the river , and they told me to keep going straight for 1 km and then I could cross to the right. But there’s no bridge. I asked him, “Can I still cross despite the water?” He said yes. We’ll see. 1 km there and then to the right. Thank you. I took them with me. They’re going to show me where it is. Okay, obviously. So, I have to cross this. They tell me there’s no problem. But I’m going to send the drone so it can follow me. But just as I was about to send it, it starts raining. So I wait for the downpour to subside, and they’re kind enough to wait. Well, they’re going back on foot. What’s wrong? They’re going to walk 1 km. Thank you. That’s great. THANKS GUYS! Yes! Well, I had to engage two-wheel drive just before crossing the second section of water. There, that’s all good. Now, I should be able to reach the main road, because the main road… well, there used to be a bridge, but there isn’t a bridge anymore. I’ll zoom in here, look. See you later! So Robby, well, he went through the water. Ah, that was close. Actually, it wasn’t so much the depth of the water, but the size of the pebbles. It made me bounce so much that it unhooked the straps holding the tires. Okay, let’s keep going. It’s slippery, it’s slippery. Okay, saved, as they say. Oh crap! Oh crap, a river! And no, I’m not at the main road yet. It’s a little further on. Oh dear… Okay, I have to go open the gate. What kind of water is here? Oh dear! It’s okay , it’s okay , it’s okay. There was only one thing that wasn’t wet, and that was my feet. Oh [ __ ]! Ah! Just not. Yeah, two-wheel drive here. You have to go up this way to get over this with momentum and get over this. Okay, how’s this thing closed? And there we go, another river to cross. Well, there you go, it wasn’t that difficult. And then, I come across rice paddies. Magnificent. Beautiful rice paddy. Okay, let’s close the door and go. Well, the road looks good. That’s good news. But for how long? That’s the question. Shit! Shiiiiit! Oh [ __ ]! Oh, what luck! [ __ ]! I was so fed up. Oh man! I hope it’s not the same here. And we’ve passed the worst with the river. I was afraid the water would get into the… into the filter. Okay, we’ll test it here. Oh my god. That’s good. Oh, I thought I’d be stuck here. Stuck for the night. There, it’s good. Oh, I’m lucky. Thank you, my guardian angels. We’ll stay in two-wheel drive. Yes, when I got stuck, I couldn’t get going because there’s clay underneath. I put it in two-wheel drive and it still wouldn’t start. So I pushed with my foot and that worked because my tires are almost bald. Well, the rear one. Oh no. There’s still some. There’s still some tread. Come on, let’s go through here. Oh my god, what luck! Oh my god! Oh, it almost stopped. Oh my god! Did you hear the “blo blo blo blo”? I have to stop now. I have to get there because it’s going to get dark soon. Lucky me! Lucky me! And all this in huge rice paddies facing the sea. Okay, well, I hope it’s over now. So, the goal now is to find a hamlet or a village where people will let me set up my hammock, and if they have food, even better, because I have nothing with me. Ah, those guys must be getting married. Because they saw me before I went into the water. Come on, let’s go. They love that word “technology.” Okay, let’s go. They don’t have beer here. Tar. Oh, magnificent, magnificent! Well, after asking around, there’s a guy on a scooter who took me to his aunt’s place and She offered me a room and food for $10. Wow! Okay, let’s grab our things. And that was a tough day, huh? huh? Technologia. There you go. Okay. Well, they don’t have any beer. COMING SOON NEXT FRIDAY

Tu as pas du mettre longtemps a faire dodo😂 bravo
