アゼルバイジャン全土で3泊の野外キャンプ

It’s day 216 of walking from Turkey to Vietnam.
Right now, we’re on the side of the motorway in Aabaijan, but our favorite stop, Food Mood,
and we’ve just ordered a chicken pie and a croissant. And we’ve just taken a bite and
it’s better than Greg’s. It’s better than Greg’s at home. We were thinking of maybe
ordering another one. It’s amazing. Show us. Look at that. Just going to keep us going. Don’t know
how much you can see right now. And my also my hair is quite greasy, but if you
look close enough, it’s got a bit golden   from the sun. We’re back on the road again
this morning. We filled our tummies up and we aim to walk 36 km today. It seems very
doable. The sun is out, the clouds are out, it’s a bit windy, so this weather is ideal
for some long distance walking. Our wedding. Yeah, they always do these uh whenever there’s
a wedding, they have like all the cars from the family drive around. They got flowers on the cars
and they all beat their horns away. It’s so sweet. Oh no, your water’s just broke.
If you’re new to the channel,   we are walking from Turkey to Vietnam
and the UK to Vietnam for Luke. So far, I’ve walked through Turkey, Georgia,
and right now we’re in Azabaijan. Next up, we’ll be going to Kazakhstan, Bebakistan,
Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and then finally Vietnam, and
it’s expected to take at least another year and a half. Um, we’ve rescued Belle, who is a she was a
Georgian street dog. She got hit by a police car and now she has seen something and is hunting.
Um, but yeah, if you’re new to the channel, if you’ve not yet subscribed, make sure you hit
that subscribe button because we’re just about   getting into this journey. We’re about to get
into the desert where there’s nothing. Helps grow the channel and keeps the journey funded. Yes.
So, thank you so much and enjoy the vlog. I’ve not seen a tuk tuk yet. Seen a couple. Not many,
though. We’ve walked about 16 km now on this road. It’s just straight basically until we get to
a lap. We tried to have a rest day yesterday in the restaurant spot, but it didn’t really
feel like a rest day. I was trying to upload all my clips onto a Google Drive so that you can
watch these YouTube videos as you’re watching it now. Salam. Hello. Salam. Uh as a petrol.
Yeah, we can’t see. Turn your brightness up. Looks like there is no as a petrol station
or hotel here. So, we’re just going to have to keep going. Salam. Me and Luke have come
up with a new game. When we’re on the road, we get bored. So, on this one, I don’t even know
how to explain it, but you choose up or down. There’s one chaser and there’s one What’s the
other one? Runner. Runner and a chaser. Right. So, who wants to be the chaser first?
I’ll be the chaser. Okay. One, two,   three. Ah. One, two, three. No. One, two, three. Got you in one. It’s fun when you’re here on
this long road with nothing, nothing to look at. I was just crying, laughing. We played like five
rounds of that game and we’re bored already. Does anyone have any games that we can play? I’m not
talking about ice by or whatever else. Any good games that we probably never would have heard of?
We’ve just stopped off in as petrol for toilet break. Come out the toilet and I’ve seen two
beautiful kitties. Hello. Oh, you’re adorable. A that’s cute. We came from uh Georgia. Just by walking. Does anyone know what he was saying? Salam.
Salam. Look at that sunset right now. We’re just appreciating just the sun. Just take
it all in. Take it all in. Enjoy the moment. This is us in the next town now. Yakiol.
And it’s another castle themed wall. I don’t know why all these town names are castle
wall themed. If anyone can tell us why. Oh, cuz it’s pretty. And if you go that way, we’ve
just come from the Yukar Reanu. Uh we looked on the map, so the distance between Ganja
and Alat where we’re going, we’re halfway through now on this long road. Belle’s having a
nice little drink. Lucas’s almost falling down, letting Belle have a drink. This is flowing
water, by the way. She’s having a little bath. So, we have another 2 hours of walking until we get
to the next city. What’s it called? I don’t know. We’ll check on the map. I’ll tell you in a minute.
And then after that, we’ve got another 1 hour of   walking through the city. But we’ve just come
across another food mood. And honest to God, like this is our favorite stop. A favorite
service station, one-stop shop, dazzle, whatever you want to call it on the motorway. My
hands crouched. Yeah. And do you know what? So, we’ve already walked 26 km today. It hasn’t felt
like it at all. Um, I feel good. My spirits are high. It might be something to do with the chicken
bake we had this morning. Oh my god. It’s closed. Oh, look. There’s people in here. Should we sit
inside? Oh, no. We got Belle. Yeah. Come on. This is just what we need. The perfect service station,
even if it was raining without the umbrellas. Time to zip off, guys. Like 24° today. Get them
legs out. So, we uh we’re at food yesterday and it started raining. We had 12 km left to go.
So we got a taxi forwards and now guy offered to give us a lift. Yeah. The guy who worked at
food gave us a lift to a hotel. Taking a lo. So you know how in all the other vlogs the
petrol stations are all being built? Well,   here’s a brand new one with a fresh stray dog. Hello. Everything’s startling new. Walking down along
this dirt track now makes a nice change from that motorway we’ve been on for weeks, weeks
and months and years and days. It feels like this is a lot better. It’s also better for our
um joints because we’re not just walking on flat tarmac. We’re actually using different muscles
every step we take because the ground’s uneven. Wow. You can see the mountains, babe. The mountains. You can see
them. Beautiful. Ah, yeah. Look at you. Quick toilet break behind the petrol
station. And there’s some ducks here. Ah, something’s on my back. Another dropped toilet. My lips absolutely cracking. I need some decent
lip balm. All the lip balms out here are made of like petroleum and they’re [ __ ] I need a good
one. Like Palmer’s. Tell me what you just said. I need a poo. It’s not what you said. I’m joking.
They’re asking how much Bell is worth. Yeah. And I thought it was a bit dodgy, so I was like, “Oh,
she’s priceless.” Yeah. Um they were like, “No,   no, she’s worth how much? How much
dollars? I don’t know, bro. Like, she’s not for sale. A bless her. And um it’s
probably just lost in translation. Yeah, to be honest with you. Yeah. A s Thank
you. Nothing but a nice tea break. I do actually need a boo though, so I’m going to
go. Are you wanting to tell the viewers that they can keep her? She’s annoying. No,   I’m joking. We love her. We’re not selling
you, are we? No, you’re coming with us. On another note, they’ve just topped up our   sweets. And I don’t know what this
is. Has anyone had this before? Feels like a hardboiled sweet. Wow. That is
like Scottish tablet fudge kind of thing. Thank you so much, S. They just brought more
over. Okay, I’ll tell Luke then. S. Thank you. Thank you so much. Time for some snackeroonies
or just water. Actually, I don’t need snacks. See, all the shops I’ve been to, they just have
so many sweets. Like, come on. There’s so many sweets. You pro you guys probably think that we
just eat loads of crap all the time, and I feel   like, yeah, we probably do, but there’s not much
available. Oh, these are the things that we had. There’s just sweets galore. What else have I got?
Mystery meats. If you saw a vlog a few vlogs ago when we were back in Georgia, there was this
time when we were searching for a market, it took us two days to find it cuz we got lost in a
village and ended up staying with some locals for   the night. Um, but when we eventually found it, we
got some tinned meat like this and mixed it with some pasta. We cooked it up. It was like eating
dog food. What a great spot. They treated us well. They got us chai. They didn’t let us pay for it,
even though we just gave them a tip anyway. Gave   me free water. And yeah, they were just lovely.
And I’ve got some sweets. Hey, look at that. Here we are. Look, that’s where we are. Baku is
well, I actually didn’t think it in any direction. Luke’s found a shortcut down here. We’re going
down this track to save a few kilometers. I now have custody of Bel Shreker, the absolute mischief
maker, nightmare causer, chief sniffer. Salam. Whenever I don’t understand what anyone’s saying,
it’s just s we’re about half an hour now from our hotel in this town called Kuramir. Um so Ganja it
was before which used to be the capital then Ylac in the previous vlogs and now Kudir. These names
are really hard to remember. It’s just like a spot on the map. It’s just like a word. I just seen
these people put a sheep in the back of their   truck. And I was like, “Oh my god, there’s a sheep
in the car.” And they looked at me. They’re like, “No.” Which is where where are you going? So,
we’re going to Baku. We’re going to Baku. We’re walking. We’re walking. I won’t tell them we’re
going to Vietnam. Their jaws will drop on the   floor. Salam. Salam. Hello. Salam. Salam. Hello.
Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. I got places to be. Like me next to you and you next to
me. Kitten. Oh no. It’s like foaming. Oh. Oh, poor thing. That cat looked really
rabid or something was wrong with it. It was like gooing at the eyes and foaming at
the mouth. Absolute tiny little kitten. So sad. I wish I could help it, but I already had to
have five rabies vaccines. I can’t risk my life. This is us now at our hotel. They
got some rotissery chickens and lots of love. Really nice hotel here. It’s only 50
mana a night and the owner’s really lovely. There he is. This is our room. Back at the
hotel now. You can see we’ve uh clearly unpacked already. It’s a great little room. If
you look at the fire plan, you can see that we’ve got the biggest room in the house. Um this is
where we sleep. You want to look at the window. Good morning. It’s the next day. We are checking
out of this place. We’re having a nice nutritious brunch because it’s super late. Got some for our
laundry to be dry. Exactly. We did give it to them yesterday, but it’s still wet. It’s now almost
1:00 and our laundry is still wet. Story of our lives, isn’t it? Not fun. See, look at this.
Absolute pure health. We got Whole Foods here. And the guy who cooked it deserves six stars.
I don’t know why there’s just so many flies. It’s just every goodbye amazing hotel. Let’s go. Oh, hello. Don’t think that’s a good idea. This is where we were in a place called Kurdimeir.
It’s been a lovely little town full of really nice people. like genuinely lots of old gentlemen
drinking chai and playing dominoes. But yeah, it’s really sweet. I felt like I’ve been
staying with my granddad for the past few days. It’s a water break for Belle. M. And the guy at this cafe has just
said he’d fill up our bottles as   well. Just at a little stop on the side of the
motorway here. Thank you. Thank you very much. We’ve just spotted off the side of the
road what looks like an abandoned house. So, I want to go and check
it out. On second thoughts,   it looks fairly new. And actually,
I think it’s just being built. Salam go. A just come off the path now. Well, off the road
onto this path. Trying to find a quiet spot cuz we’ve actually got an interview with Azabaijan
BBC. So, we’re trying to find a quiet spot away from the road in some shade. Going to have a
snack first, some chocolate, and then they’re going to call us. How exciting. Found a spot here
just away from the road up there. Just trying to chill here. Belle’s going to settle down in a
second. Come on. Don’t think so. Well, she better walk from the UK to Vietnam. And they all started
laughing and I said to myself, well, actually, I can do this. you know, I I’ve uh always wanted
to do a trip like this and I think it was more of a challenge for myself, you know. So then it
I started posting about it on social media know like day one, day two and it it gained some
traction and I was like right I’ve committed   now. So every day walking, no cheating and I could
easily cheat but I don’t want to. I I want to do this for myself. That was so nice. So we just had
an interview with the BBC. How did you enjoy that? That’s all right. As soon as I started
talking, I was fine. Like I was nervous   about that for ages. Yeah. But yeah,
the second second we started talking, I was fine. It was really nice speaking to
them. It was just like a WhatsApp call. Um   and then they recorded it. They’re going to use
it for YouTube shorts, Instagram res, Tik Tok, and that’s going to be on the BBC Aabai pages.
So yeah, and um there’s a few other news outlets who want to speak to us as well, which is really
exciting and pretty cool. So hopefully are we as always hopefully um you can see that soon. It’s
not finished yet, but we’ve just spotted Well, actually it might be finished. It’s not on
the map though. Uh food moved across the road and I’m dying to use a toilet as per usual. So
I’m going to nip across. It’s not on the map. Loop seems to think maybe it’s not fully built
yet, but I can see it. This is my speed walk. Oh yeah, it looks like it’s still being built. Please use a toilet. Please.
Oh, please. Oh, please. Yeah,   it looks like it’s not built. What
is with it? And us always coming across places that aren’t built
yet. There is a dog here, though. I know this is going to be the woman’s cuz it
always is. Oh [ __ ] There was a worker there building it and I asked Sus. He said, “No,
it’s close.” He pointed me to that. Said, “No, it’s all right. I’d rather pee in a bush.” Look at the size of that. That’s my foot
for reference. Is that a wolf? Jackal could be a wolf. Whatever it is, it’s huge.
Another one. His footsteps are like this. Can you smell it, Belle? It’s Belle’s boyfriend. Someone uh said to me yesterday about Belle, “Ah,
German wolf.” I was like, “Yeah.” And I was like, “Wait, wait, no, no.” I think they thought she was
a German Shepherd. She’s a little husky. Little husky puppy. Cheeky. Walked about 20 km today,
maybe. Oh, yeah. 20. Um, we’ve come across this rest stop and Luke recognized it. I think this
is where we stopped off. We definitely have in the taxi on the way from Baku to the border. Yeah.
Um, so we’ve been it before. They’ve got a cafe, a market, and hopefully they’ll let us camp
here. We’re going to ask um yeah, get some food, some water, and set up camp. Going to need a fire
tonight as well. It’s going to be 7° fire. Oh, yeah. Well, it depends if they let us camp or not.
Well, we’ll see. We’re not having much luck. So, the first place I went to, um they were rude to
me. They were like poking my bag and was like, “What are you doing?” But like being really
invasive. And then just now that place I just   said I recognize he was being so strange to me
was like he was trying to tell me something like something like the bus is closed or whatever and
I was just like trying to understand what he was saying. I was being patient but then he just
started raising his voice shouting at me. It’s   really angered me. So we didn’t eat there. We’re
not going to sleep there. There’s another petrol station coming up soon. 100 m. That’s really
stressed me out. So, these guys said that Oh, what’s that? That looks great. Okay. What’s this?
Perfect. Okay, S. Yeah, perfect. Thank you. So, we’ve moved the table to the side. Belle’s comfy
now. We’re both going to sleep on this sofa. It’s big enough for us, though, if we can do it. Uh if
not, if one of us gets uh squashed in the middle of the night, I guess we can move to the floor
here. How kind of are them people? Very nice. It’s refreshing. It’s reminding me of that place
we stayed in. Um if you missed out on the turkey vlogs, then we got lost in a village and a local
hazelnut farmer helped us and said that we could stay in his cabin on the farm and it was like
honestly it was like an Airbnb. Put the fire on,   we had a TV, sofa, bed. So nice. So cozy.
So we hit the jackpot. Is so much. Actually, it’s not that bad. This will warm me up
for tonight. I don’t know if he’s given   me the whole bottle, though. I don’t want
that much. Just one or two. He’s just like, “Help yourself.” Imagine that in England
or anywhere else. Yeah. Can you imagine?   You never get this in England. You want any
Coke with your hawker? Cheers. Cheers. It’s actually quite nice. I’ve got a coffee on
the way cuz it’s cold and I want to be cozy. Yeah. Look, this is me and Luke. It’s like, oh,
can we uh can we camp in your garden, please? Can I order 12 pizzas for the homeless? Yeah,
they’re free. Don’t worry. Here we go. Time to tuck in. Getting ready for bed now. It’s still
super cold. It’s going to be 7° tonight. So, I’m going to get my thermal hat on. Um, got to
get my pillow. I’m just sorting out my bag. Look, I’m unpacking. I’m sorting out what I need. And
I’ve uh started making the bed. Luke said that the uh he’s in there still. Luke said that
the restaurant have another spare blanket,   so we’re going to both sleep on here.
Yeah, I’m just sorting out my stuff. Look, this is the sewing repair kit we had to get cuz
of Belle ripping the blanket. or ripping the tent, should I say. So, right, this is one of
my Well, this is my clothes packing cube, and I always use it as a second pillow. So,
that could be me there. Oh my gosh. Right. It’s freaking cold. Don’t think Luke’s coming back yet.
I’m going to wear both of my jumpers tonight. And that’s where the um so this window
has a crack in it. I’ve used these   uh cushions that were just around to cover
it up cuz otherwise all the mosquitoes and stuff’s going to come in. I’ve heard a few
of you say like, “How do you look so fresh when you’re walking around the world when you’re
camping so much?” To be honest with you, I don’t really know what you mean. I feel disgusting
right now. Um wash your hair, I guess. Uh, brush your hair. That’s my advice. This is us
now in bed. It’s not the end of the vlog that you typically see. We’re in this cozy cabin. How
are you feeling, Luke? Ready to sleep. Ready for a night. Ready for a good night’s sleep. We’ll
see you in the morning. Morning. Good morning. We had a fairly decent sleep here
last night. Would you say so? Yeah, it was all right. There was mosquitoes in it. Oh,
yeah. I got bites all over my hands. They actually woke me up. I’ve got That’s disgusting.
I need to go wash my hands. I got blood   on my hands. Somebody splatted something.
That’s gross. Um, we’re getting ready now and we’re going to hit the road soon. Oh, she
loves it. I think you love it more. I know. That’s a nice scarf you got
there. Goodbye. Cozy little cabin. Who’s this? Hello. Salam, bro. Hello. Where are you from?
England. England. England. Where are you from? I’m from China. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet
you. What’s your name? Jolong. Jolong. Nice to meet you. I’m Sophie. What? Wow. From England.

From China. Yeah. From China. From China. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Where are you going? Yeah.
Where are you going to? What’s your destin?   Italy. Italy. Yeah, Italy. That’s so cool. Yeah,
just to walk. Yeah, only walking. How long have you been cycling for? Mhm. How many days? Maybe
100 from China to 100 days. 100 days. He’s on day 400. Day 410. I’m on 400. Yeah. Wow. It’s
fast. Very fast. From England to here. Fast. I think it’s very fast. I’m on day 221. 2007 and
you meet here in Turkey and together. Uh well, we walked in Turkey together. Yeah. Wow. We’re
just going to Vietnam. Very cool. To Paku uh to Alat and then we’re getting the ferry
to Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan. Yeah. Let’s stay in touch. You can uh Wow. Wow.
Wow. Message on Instagram and like message send me a message. We should probably take
a picture. UK. Do you have Instagram? Yes, I have. Let’s follow you. But I have no
internet. I can find you. I have a eim. The countries uh phone card very expensive.
Yeah. So I have no internet. Oh yeah, it is expensive. Let’s see. Uh my Let’s take
a picture. Okay. I want Come in. Ready? Okay. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. Good luck.
Good luck. Good luck. Yeah. Yeah. Good luck. Oh,   nice. Nice hobby. Take care, brother. Thank you,
brother. Bye. Goodbye. Goodbye. Bye. Look at this. Yes. So much stuff. But you you are very cool.
Yes. So are you. You are very cool. And me. No, bro. This is amazing. Wow. Goodbye. Thank
you. And I’ll go to Yeah. Keep going. Good food. Good luck, guys. What a legend.
See, we’re not the only crazy ones. That’s really sweet. He’s just cycled back to give us this cuz uh
he’s cycling from China to Italy. And I said, “Thank you so much.” He was explaining what
it was. It’s for good luck. And I said,   “I know. My family are from Hong Kong.”
And then I said uh showed him on the map exactly where they’re from. And he said
that he works in uh Shenzhen in China, which is basically opposite my family village. You
can actually see the skyscrapers in Shenzhen from uh Tingoy Way, which is where my family
village is. Yeah. Crazy. Wow. Look at that. Just stopping in the shade on this trail
cuz Luke’s got an ingrowing toenail. Just pulled it out. It’s bleeding. I’m having
some nut snacks. Belle’s having a drink. We’re from England. English. Thank you. Baku Baku. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Great. Look at this. I have a present for you. You can search on Instagram and
YouTube. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. Pomegranates. More pomegranates. How often
do we get pomegranates? Another symbol of leaving the town. I don’t know why they all
have these like wall castle looking things, but they’re pretty cool. So, that’s us now
leaving Kir. Goodbye. It’s been a pleasure. Salam. Salam. No, thank you. No. No. Thank you. Okay, bro. Thank
you. Thanks. S. We’ve made it to our spot for the day. This fast food restaurant on the motorway
here. They have hot dogs, burgers, pizzas, and other stuff. And then we’re going to see if we can
camp here as well. We just had our dinner. Hello. A brilliant. Um, we just had our dinner
and I had a cappuccino with it. I’ve been feeling a bit sleepy today. Um, and then he
said two Americanos on the house. I’m like, what? And now I feel like and the sun’s just set.
Oh, actually, I need to get my head torch out. Um, but apparently 10 minutes this way is a cafe. So,
we’re going to ask them. We’ve got to this cafe, the last place on the map. Going to see. Oh,
no. Look, it’s locked. Should I call out? Salam. No, I think I think there’s no
one here and we don’t want to stay here cuz they’re going to be in the morning. We’re
just uh scoping out somewhere nearby the cafe. We’re just setting up our camp here uh in the
tree line next to the motorway and a local was driving past and saw us and he said he came
over and he said wouldn’t camp here. There’s snakes and so he recommended we move 100 m
up. So decided to take his advice and just thought we’ve dropped some bits there. We are
in bed now. We have moved the tent away from the snake infested trees and I’m fighting
falling asleep while trying to edit an Instagram reel. Uh just about I’ll show you.
Here we go. Can you see that? It’s difficult to see. Uh I’m going to force it any minute.
So why I’m really struggling to stay awake,   but I need to get this posted and then I’m
going to Good night. It’s 12° right now and it’s going to go down to 5° tonight, so
it’s going to get real cold. Hello, darling. Hello, darling. Morning. It’s the next day, of course. We woke
up early this morning to the sunrise. Um Luke got a video of it. I might have to nick it from
him. And it was so cold. We were looking at it   for a minute and then we had to close the
door. It was 6° last night. Oh, a spider’s just dropping down. Let’s put you out there, shall
we? And we’re just packing up now. This morning, we woke up to Belle escaping through the net
again. We hadn’t Well, we got this sewing kit, but I haven’t managed to sew it up yet. But good
job. Otherwise, I would have had to do another   job this morning. Um, she had a little run around.
Luke had to go and chase her cuz there was a herd of sheep and a farmer. Um, and there’s a main
road right there. So, we’re getting ready now and we’re going to make some breakfast. I’ve got
some risotto and I’ll show you in a minute. So, this is where we camped. Our tent right here. We
woke up to such a gorgeous sunrise over there. And look, it’s just nothingness. Just like complete
desert out here. Luke’s made some breakfast for us. Certainly have with our kettle. I have
a Ow. Cheers for that, Belle. I’ve got some ratoto. We’ve just left our spot now where
we camped. Now we’ve got 13 km of nothing. Yesterday we got six lers of water and we’ve
got three left. So, one liter and a half each. And that’s going to get us through 13K halfway
through the day until we get to the next meeting. That man was just driving over the
white line. What a dick. People were crazy out here. He drive like nutters.
Got road rage from the guy. You’ve got road rage. Fair enough. He nearly ran into
us. He’s swerving all over the place on his   phone with a cigarette. Probably watching
a movie. That stick has seen better days, didn’t it? It has. Here. Can you hold this for
me, please? Thank you. Look at my ears. What’s happened? What’s just fell out your back? Is that
yours? Where is that sock? No, that’s not my sock. This way. If there’s any bike packers. Oh, yeah.
Cuz they’ll be coming the other way. Then they’ll see. 13 bottles of beer on the wall. 13 bottles of
beer. Take one down. Pass it around. 12 bottles of beer on the wall. 12 bottles of beer on the wall.
12 bottles of beer. Take 11 bottles of beer on the wall. 11 bottles of beer. Take one down. Pass
it around. 10 bottles of beer on the wall. We have walked the full 13 km to the next town. And
we are about to fill our stomachs up with Lula kebab. They’ve brought us pomegranate and salad
and cheese and all these things that we didn’t ask for. So, normally that means they’re going
to try and stick us with a big bill at the end,   but we’ll see. Belle’s going to have hers first.
She’s got a little dog bowl. She’s well excited. It’s hot. It’s too hot for her. She do it in
it. I think it’s too hot for her. Yeah. Our tummies are full and bells and we’re back
on the road. We’ve still got another 17 km to walk. It’s already 4:00 p.m. and I’ve
been wearing the same tape for 3 days on my blisters. Having a little first aid kit stop to
fix my feet. Huh. Apparently the farmer’s coming, but I’m not doing anything wrong.
I’m just trying to sort myself out. Look at all of these snake bars. It’s
kind of setting off my trypophobia. Creepy. it. We’ve been walking for about 5 km
since the sunset. We’re coming up to a small town now. There’s a petrol
station that potentially we could camp behind. We’ll be there soon. Yeah. And
then it’s about 50 more kilometers to Baku. This is the restaurant we’ve been uh walking
towards all day. So, we’re going to see if we can   camp here. So, we just had dinner at this lovely
restaurant. I had some uh py, which is a local soup. And we asked if we could set up our tent
here, and he’s show he’s brought us to this spot. So, this is the spot. This is where the
restaurant owner normally sleeps. Um I guess it’s his home away from home. Yeah. Um we’ve got
a single bed that we can share. It’s very rifty, but it’s okay. So yeah, 80 mana for this place
and our food just now, which was soup and one Lula kebab. But we can’t complain. This will
be cold. It’s going to be freezing tonight, so I’m glad we’ve got somewhere to stay. Close
this up. These are all open. Yeah, if you can. I don’t want Belle on the bed tonight.
Come on. She She needs to calm down. So, this is our bed set up. The single bed is neither
big enough nor sturdy enough for the both of us. I feel sad though because I just went to
pull the um the sheets back and this bed is like springs and cardboard and then
some like pillows and stuff all layered up and it just made me really sad for this
man. Um but then Luke reminded me that he probably doesn’t actually live here. This is
just his work room. So I was like, “Oh yeah,   true. He does own an entire restaurant.”
And Belle is snug as a bug in a rug. ready for her sleep. Oh, you’re so cute. Have
you had a good day? He’s such a little chicken. Me and Luke both had nightmares last night. I
had a nightmare that someone with rabies was   chasing me like a zombie. And then I was
like, I’ve had five rabies vaccines. I’m immune. And I was panicking. and Luke
had a nightmare, too. Um, yeah, we’re uh gonna hit the road in a minute. How did you
sleep? Not good. A need a shower and stuff. Yeah, it’s like day four now of camping. Shower is
imminent. We are ponging. That’s us now. We are packing up ready for 50 km day or maybe 225
km days uh until we get to a lap where we can get the ferry across the Caspian Sea. But I’m
gonna end the vlog here. We’ve got a long way   to go and it’s been a long vlog already. If
you’ve made it this far, make sure you like, comment, and subscribe to stay up to date with
the adventure. And tune in to the next vlog to   see our last 50 km walking in Azabaijan,
getting the ferry across the Caspian Sea, and arriving in Kazakhstan. It’s going to be a fun
adventure, and it’s only just beginning because we   still got all the way to Vietnam to walk. So,
I’ll see you in the next vlog. Give us a wave.

After weeks of walking across Azerbaijan, we’re back on the road, camping wild for days, battling the cold, and pushing through exhaustion.

We’ve been walking from Türkiye to Vietnam on foot for over 200 days now, and this stretch through central Azerbaijan was one of the toughest yet. With no hotel, no shower, and barely any comfort, we relied on the kindness of locals, roadside meals, and our determination to keep going.

In this episode, you’ll see:

• Wild camping behind restaurants and in the middle of nowhere

• Meeting kind locals in small towns like Kurdamir

• The struggle of long, hot days and freezing nights

• The reality of travelling on foot across a country few tourists see

• How we deal with exhaustion, dirt, and keeping spirits high on the road

Sometimes adventure isn’t about perfect sunsets or luxury. It’s about the challenge, the grit, and choosing to keep going when things get hard.

  1. Would YOU keep going like this?

Five days of walking, barely any sleep, no shower, camping wherever we could, and relying on strangers for somewhere to sleep! This stretch of Azerbaijan pushed us HARD 😅

Tell me honestly, could you handle this part of the journey?

  2. The first guy was speaking strange and mixed language. But he said konak or gonak at the end. It means house or home. Probably he was asking if ypu needed a place to stay or hotel or something like that. He was probably talking russian and azerbaijani mixed. Also maybe he spoke georgian but not sounded like turkish

  3. In your previous video, British officials found you on the road with their vehicles, and as BBC Azerbaijan News has reached this video… I wrote about your experiences in Ganja on the YouTube channel of a famous Azerbaijani TV channel, and shared the link (the hospital and vaccine incident). I said they were coming to Baku, maybe they learned about your trip from there my be …. Congratulations England

  4. You need to buy mosquito mat. Burn one coil in the tent or in the room, and mosquitoes won't bother you all night.

  5. In Belle’s shoes. When she’s finally reached Vietnam, she’s flying to Turkey the previous neighbor country before she was adopted. Words can’t describe that feeling!

  6. You two seemed a little upbeat in this episode ! ( "supporting the walk" for meals or towards a place to stay )

  7. at 4:36 the man was saying "Come to my house, be my guest" I think when you said you were coming from Georgia he thought you are from Georgia so he started speaking Russian.

  8. Sophie, very proud of you for putting yourself out there in real life and on the internet. Sending you both so much love ❤ Belle is definitely looking extremely healthy in comparison to when you first both found her.

Hope to meet in person whenever you two are back in the UK to chat all about YouTube and travels 🇬🇧

  9. how will your dog Perform while in the desert!? looks like a dog that could overheat easily, but I know nothing about dogs.

  10. I cam across your channel a few days ago and have now been binge watching all the 27 episodes since Istanbul. You are really having a great adventure and your youtube skills are very good too. Love this channel big time. I cycled myself from Copenhagen to Tbilisi some ye years ago, so your trip from Istanbul to Tbilisi gave me quite a few nice flashbacks. Will keep following you in the months to come 😃😃😃

  11. You are both absolutely awesome, (and Bellsie 🐶😊).
