Kijoka is a small hamlet in Ogimi Village
in the northern part of Okinawa. This area is famous for producing
the traditional craft “Bashofu” with the old techniques
still being passed down. Furthermore, this area is also known
as the Land of Longevity, with many people
living over 100 years old. Surrounded by nature,
time passes slowly here and your mind feels calm. Let’s explore the secrets of
longevity and tradition in Kijoka. This village is surrounded
by mountains, right? In the past, the mountain was carved out
and used as terraced fields… From small children to the elderly,
everyone walked up and down this slope and developped strong lower bodies,
