ノルウェージャン ブリス アラスカ | シアトル→シトカ (1~3日目)

We are getting ready for our group cruise
for the Alaska group cruise. We ordered some lanyards. The first batch we didn’t really
care for. Yeah, I said first batch. Yeah, we’re cutting these off, each one
of these, and putting them on these. Seattle, the starting point for our
Livin’ Our Vision Alaska Group cruise. We roll into the suburbs, settle
in at Lake Pleasant RV Resort, then head downtown for a pre-cruise
dinner. Finally putting faces to names and mapping out the week ahead. It’s our
first time to Alaska. And the best part, we’re not going alone. We’re sharing
it with you. Good to see y’all! Lots of luggage. We brought everything and
the kitchen sink. Who did? We did. We had to move over here. This is a storage area
for people going on cruises. and they only allow   you to be hooked up to a 20 amp just to keep our
fridge going. Temps are going to be in the 70s the entire time we’re gone. So, that’s going to
work out really well. So, this whole area here, it’s specifically for people going on cruises
and they charge you a lot less. I think it’s uh I think it’s somewhere around $20. Sites
over here are like 70 70 plus. But it is a very nice park. Did you get the corkcrew for
the wine? Yeah. Okay. All aboard! This cruise port is crazy.
Parking’s horrible at 66. [music: “I woke up feeling on top of the world… Like nothing’s ever going to bring me down…
This feeling got me flying high as a bird… I may never touch the ground… It may not
be my birthday. But I just want to celebrate…” Let’s stop here. Also ready to
taste. I’m hungry. Wait a minute lady. You need to wash again. Washy Washy [music] It’s a little bit narrower. It Yeah,   but we have a nice balcony. Billy
likes it. and so is he! [music: “cuz it’s a good day, good life. I
just want to celebrate all night…” We’re going back to our room now to unpack
our luggage. Spritz our clothes with some   day wrinkler and hopefully the wrinkles come
out. This is really nice though. This ship uh underwent a major renovation January to February
2025 was in the dry dock. They did a renovation on it. It’s really nice. They did a good job
on it. The only thing that’s um a little odd that we haven’t experienced on the other lines
yet um is you have to use put your key card in um a slot right when you come in the door
in order to turn the lights on. Yeah. So, but apparently you can just stick a like
a business card or something, anything in   it. It doesn’t have to be your room card and
it’s supposed to stay on. We will try that. On our first night, the main dining room
becomes a moving postcard with mountain   silhouettes. Then we end the evening with
some surprisingly entertaining karaoke. Mrs…Mrs Jones Purple rain. Purple rain. sweet Caroline…bom bom bom… I was kind of getting used to someone you loved… Good night, Mary Ellen. Good night, John. Boy,  Embarcation day was yesterday. Today’s our first day at sea. We had a a really good time
with everybody uh yesterday and went down the karaoke. One of our gang had an amazing voice
and did a duet last night with another guy that is actually a comedian on the ship. We didn’t
find that out until here just this morning. But uh that was uh really amazing. All right, I’m
going to go get some coffee. Going for the free coffee at the buffet. I just had to go over here
to guest services um and get Michelle’s phone, her Wi-Fi going. Had a little bit of an issue
with hers. So, we got it going now. I don’t like how Norwegian does their internet giving
you 150 minutes free because if you don’t log off when you’re done using it, it keeps using
your minutes. And then guess what? You need   the internet package. Back in the room. Do we dare
see how chilly it is? Actually, it’s not too bad. Oh, until I get out here. The rooms look nice. I
really like the rooms. The bathroom setup’s pretty good. All over the entire ship. We’ve noticed that
the the upgrades updates that they did is just really really nice. There is one thing that we do
not like. You have to have either your key card   or you can put like a business card or something
in this little slot. Otherwise, the lights turn off by themselves and it shuts the air off. Unlike
with other cruise ships when um this sliding door, your balcony door, if it is in the open position,
it shuts the air off and you have to have it in the closed position. That’s how a lot of cruise
ships are. But not with Norwegian. If you don’t have something stuck in that slot when you’re
gone, the air doesn’t stay on. But it hasn’t been hot in here when we got in here. But of course,
we’re going to Alaska. Happy washi. Washi. Washi. Little bit of variety. French
toast. Little triangles. Jan   told us those were really good. I
guess I really don’t get shopping for art and jewelry on a cruise
ship. Yeah, I don’t either. But there you go. If you want to look for complimentary dining, go
to the dining. Take us there, Vannah. These are all the complimentary dining, current status,
specialty dining. Okay. So, if we wanted to go to the say the Texas smoke. Oh, there’s a
second page, too. This is the second page. So, you’ve got six places that are complimentary
dining with your fair that you pay for with your booking. Specialty, of course, that costs extra.
The afternoon. So, what are you getting? Uh, I’m getting this combo for Alaska and the star and
the shell. And they’re only five bucks. These are only $5. That’s 10. That’s a pretty good deal.
Oh, you need your card again. It’s okay. Oh,   you got it. Okay. Nobody told me they needed my
card. What do we got? What do we got? M stuff. So, what kind of bird was that again? That’s an ollie
bird. Ollie bird. An olly bird. They’re a rare rare onelegged halfwing bird. Onelegged halfwing
birdie. Now, can I can I get can I get your wife’s opinion on this? Well, you certainly can. Yeah.
Yeah. What do you think about the Olly bird? Oh boy. Don’t believe a thing this guy says.
I’d like to see that all our leg the entire trip. There is a look of guilty is what that
is. That was Glenn. That guy tells you it’s raining outside. Grab your sunglasses. We
are going to go to a slot pole now. We’re   at the casino. We’re getting ready to have a
brute pull. All right. For the uh Norwegian living Norian P. All right. You gonna win
for him. I’m gonna win. I’m going home. You should see it through someone else’s side. Another cipher to break while the grass grows underneath my feet. No wonder you got a pure heart. kind of honesty that will always stay. Don’t ever let him bring you down. What a terrible thing to say. Trembling across my fingers out of sight.
Hello. Hello. Hello. I was lost inside a maze of night. Hello. Hello. Hello. I stayed
up and watched you till late night. What do we have here? Funny. I wonder who put that
on there. Billy. Billy. Billy did it. Yeah. We’re heading to our dinner night with
everybody in the Manhattan main dining room. That’s a free dining room.
Couples with your cruise. And tomorrow is Sitka, right?
Did you say you were sick? This is the CD pasta. They have
some gluten-free bread for me and Michelle. Do you have that that pork
chop? Parmesan and Preston pork chop.   We have a really hard time knowing who
who runs the camera. Can you our people generation? These are the icons.
There were nights when the wind was so right outside. There were days when it got on the rock. I got to
kiss myself. I’m so pretty. Sitka tomorrow. Time for bed. Mhm. Well, good
morning. Today is day three. We’re going to go to Sitka. And last night we went to the Icon
show. 5 minutes in, they had some issues and it got cancelled. Everybody had to get back up and
leave. And it’s been rescheduled. This morning we had a message, our phone was lighting up. There
was a message on there that it’s been rescheduled for 9:30 tonight. So, this area where I’m at right
now is called the observation deck where people can come and sit and just watch the beautiful
views if they don’t want to go outside in the   colder areas. It’s not too bad today, though.
It’s starting out at 59° and it’s going to get up to 60 today. But the buffet is right above us.
And there’s a part up here that you can overlook. So you can kind of sit and eat at the buffet and
look out the windows as well, but it’s right above this area right here. But down here, they have a
few little things that are similar to the buffet, but mainly just like pastries and of course your
coffee and your fruit and cereal, stuff like that, which I’m sure Michelle will be fine just with
the pastries. If you go upstairs to the buffet,   you can get uh fresh omelettes
made, your normal breakfast stuff, pretty much anything you want. Or the main
dining room, you can have stuff freshly made,   which they can make if you’re gluten-free. They
can make you, they said they can make pancakes, French toast, whatever. I’m a little chilly for
that this morning. Even I don’t have shorts on right now. Shocker, right? Morning comes in cool
and quiet. The atmosphere is much different than any other cruise we’ve been on. The hot tubs
are empty. Not many people walking or jogging. The go-kart track is empty.
People are enjoying the views   inside and preparing for our journey in Sikka. Today we’re going to try one of the main dining   rooms for breakfast before we take
off. We’re going to try taste. You know, this town has a unique past. Long before
Europeans arrived, the Klingit people lived here for thousands of years, building a rich cultural
tradition that you can still experience today in their art, totem poles, and storytelling.
In the 18th century, Russian explorers and traders establish a settlement here, and Sitka
became the capital of Russian America. In 1867, something truly historic happened right here. The
United States purchased Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million. The transfer ceremony took place
in Sitka, making it the first American capital of Alaska before the seat later moved to Juno. As you
go ashore today, you will find reminders of this layer history all around you. The onion domes
of San Michael Russian Orthodox Cathedral stands a symbol of the Russian era. While the Sitka
National Historical Park offers trails lined with magnificent ton balls carved by native
people and of course the stunning scenery, the forest, mountains and the wildlife is a story
on itself. So I hope you enjoy your day exploring Sitka. Whether you are taking in the history,
admiring the wildlife or simply enjoying the   peaceful atmosphere of this Alaskan gem, our first
port of call as you know all our all on board time will be 17:30 today. So, please make sure to carry
your key card and identification with you as you   head ashore and have a wonderful day in Sitka. And
uh Dandan will come shortly to let you know that we’re clear to operate and go ashore. Well, we
don’t see whales today. At least we saw sardines. Everybody say happy birthday
to Kathy. Happy birthday. Happy   birthday Kathy. Happy birthday Kathy.
Thank you. Kathy’s like who’s Kathy? Norwegian sent us an email for us to
get our reservations for getting on   the shuttle. This shuttle
will take us into Sikcast. Uh but after your cruise and you decide to
come back to Sydney and you want to buy a   piece of property off to your immediate
right here, this island with a mansion is ready to move in for sale. for sale.
$750,000. You can call it your home. right here. Best station here. I’d
like to walk over here to see that. Okay, we’re going to take a 15-minute walk to the
Sikka National Historical Park. And our bus driver told us that uh we should actually start smelling
the salmon before we even get there. But you’ll know you’re getting close when you start smelling
them. Yeah. Hey, are those stalkers still behind   us? I think so. Guys see them? Are they behind us?
Run. Hide here. Hide here. Hide here. Hide here. Oh, hi. Oh. H. Hi. Where have you guys been? I We
didn’t know you were there. Stalking you. Russian Bishop House. Uhhuh. That’s also part of the
historical park is this house. Oh, and we have a Pat should have his Do you have your pass with
you? I I have my pass with me if we need a Should we National Park? You want to see it? Or should
we just keep What should we do? We can. Well, it’s here. It’s right here. I mean, I don’t
care. The Russian Bishop’s House in Sikka,   built in 1841 to 1843 by the Russian American
Company, was the residence, chapel, and school for Bishop Innocent Ivan Vini Amanov, head of the
Russian Orthodox Church in Alaska. It’s one of the few surviving Russian colonial buildings in
North America and a national historic landmark. After the 1867 Alaska purchase, the Dasin
seat moved to San Francisco in 1872, the building saw mixed uses like clergy
housing and small printing operations into   the 20th century. Severely deteriorated
by the 1960s, it was closed in 1969, acquired by the National Park Service in 1973,
and restored over 15 years to its mid-9th century appearance. Would you like some warm tea? Today
it’s part of Sitka National Historical Park. This is pretty. It definitely
did not need this heavier coat.   This is nice because it’s also a raincoat as well. It stinks. Fil me. Oh my goodness. They’re trying. Sad. Seeing all the dead fish here
and all of them struggling. I don’t   know. I’m ready to go. There’s
something fishy about this place. Disgusting. This is a very sad trip. I feel like you saw I asked the lady in there. She gave a lot of
information. And so what happens is the Indian   River comes down in this area here where they
had the where the girls were taking the fish out. That spills into there and it’s fresh
water. This is spawning time for the chum and the pink salmon. Right now November is
when the sckeye spawn here. Those fish out there on the other side of the net are trying
to get in cuz they sense that fresh water and   it’s spawning time right now because again it’s
coming from the Indian River. They got it pull, you know, pouring through there. And this isn’t
a fish farm. What the deal is fish salmon live for two years. And after two years, when they
spawn, lay their eggs, they die naturally. Oh, okay. So, they’re getting the eggs out and
then they’re dead anyway. Yeah. Okay. So,   it’s not as cruel as what what it looks like.
Yeah. So, that’s Yeah, it still stinks. Yeah. And the clam chowder in here is really good.
Uh, something I forgot to mention. You saw those   salmon hanging from that net by their teeth.
That’s because the tide, they’re underwater and they’re kind of stuck on there before the tide
starts to drop. And when the tide drops, the fish are hanging and they’re stuck. So, when those the
other salmon on the other side of that net, they um they don’t let them in yet because otherwise
there would be obviously more dead salmon. And so, they’re trying to regulate it. And uh once
they get them thinned out a little bit,   then they’ll open it up and let more
salmon in. But that’s why, you know, you look at that and you’re wondering, why do
those salmon want to get in there? They look   like they’re suffering. Sad to see, but it’s not
so sad when you realize that those uh you know, the salmon die after they spawn anyway.
So, they’re doing a good thing here by, you know, getting the eggs out and producing
more salmon and uh, you know, they die anyway. We got love that we’ll never need to hide. Love
will always rise above. Whatever comes, we will be just fine. If I am yours and you are mine, take
my hand and let’s fly away to another galaxy. Hold me close. I want to feel your love.
Together we are free. Just be with me. Just be with me. Just be with me. Told us a
15, 20 minute walk. Then a tour driver told us, “No, whoa, it’s not that far. It’s about
10 minutes.” Nobody said anything about   the steep rock road that you have to
walk up. And we still don’t see Oh, I think I see it. I don’t care if that’s too far.
Take my hand and let’s fly away to another galaxy. Hold me close. I want to feel
your love. Together we are free. Just be with me. Just be with me. Just be with me. Golden light force through the blinds. Wash away the wories like a winding tie. Yesterday left far behind. Your sweet scent fills my lungs open and wide. In this soft light, troubles fade away with
you. No need for words to say your love. A gentle breeze that carries me through. We took a taxi up here to the Fortress of
the Bear. And check out some bears. Welcome to Fortress of the Bear, an educational
sanctuary providing lifelong care and protection to bears that were orphaned as we hope that
you enjoy learning about our organization. For you, for you I in the silent dawn you stir from sleep. Sunlight paints your face in golden she. The harsh of dawn a peaceful sea. Good. Oh, look at that. This looks good, girl. Your love, gentle breeze that carries me through.
I give up the world, the moon, the sky. For you, I’d reach so high across the ocean. I’m so pride.
For you. For you. I I give up my dreams, my hopes, my view for you. What more could I ever do? I give
up the world, the moon, the sky for you. For you I Pick up all those things off your bench
seats. Pick it up off the the floor there. chocolate. Cheers. It’s a really fun day in Sitka
today. Now we’re getting ready to go out to dinner with Tim and Bev, the ones
responsible for the screaming goat. Cheers. Salute. Salute. I know. Wow. Look at that.
That’s like a quarter of the Why is he so small? And look at mine. Look at that. From Seattle Sail
away to Sika shoreline, these first three days have been a quiet kind of magic. New friends, long
horizons, and that feeling that the journey’s just opening up. Tonight, we close the chapter here
in Sika. Next week, we pick it up in Juno with a whale watching and Mendadol Glacier tour, and we
can’t wait to share it all with you. Let’s cate. See you next week.

  4. Enjoyed seeing the Eagles , Owls and Bears1 I am sure they are all rescues being taken care of a these facilities ! Juno will be amazing cannot wait to see the Orcas !

  5. Thanks for the memories! We were there at the same time, but just never at the same ports on the same days. Looks like we did the same sites in Sitka. Stay safe on your travels. See you in Feb!

  6. Very nice there in Alaska. The thing about the key cards to activate the power in your room is a European thing from years ago. We encountered that in places we stayed at in Greece. I used my CAA card, but the staff wised up to it and took it out when we went out for the day. Lol. It’s happening here now too in some hotels. I guess it’s for energy conservation, which is a good thing. Safe travels.

  7. I found that the key in the reader for the lights to come on was common on my Great Britain tour.

  8. Love NCL Bliss! DanDan the cruise Director is great too! Was on Bliss this year right after the refurbishment. Really enjoyed the crew and the ship. 10/10 will be back!

  9. Alaska is so beautiful, I’m ready to go back! Thanks for making my birthday so special, and giving me the opportunity to see Alaska.
