【飛行機搭乗記】みぞか号で天草! …から帰れたのか！？

Mizoca, who went to Fukuoka on the first flight of the morning, has returned. The plane is descending toward Runway 31 at Amakusa Airport, but it looks like it’s starting to climb. Maybe it flew into the rain clouds and did a go-around? The turbulence behind Mizoca has created a heart shape in the rain clouds⭐ The plane turned right and went off the landing course for RWY31. This time We will be looking at our final day in Amakusa and the day before. Now, let’s begin “To Amakusa on the Mizoca! The final day in Amakusa”! ⭐ This time I will tour Amakusa Shimoshima Island, focusing on Amakusa Airport. After the classic dolphin watching, we will travel to the World Heritage Site and Ushibuka. This time I will go to meet the dolphins in Hayasaki again⭐ I will then visit the Catholic Sakitsu Church, a World Heritage Site, to offer prayers. On the way back, I planned to go to Osaka Itami Airport via Fukuoka Airport. I filmed a video of our final day at Amakusa Airport. Amakusa Airport is a small airport with one short 1,000m runway. The airport is built on piled earth on the slope of a mountain in the center of Amakusa Kamishima. It is located on a hill overlooking the city of Amakusa, and Mizoca flies over the city every day. Now let’s take a circling approach and land on Runway 13 at Amakusa Airport! If you can see the runway during an RNP approach, veer right and circle around to the other side. What you can see across the sea is the Nagasaki Peninsula, and on the other side is Nagasaki City. I would like to ride Mizoca and experience this circling approach 😉 Uriaaaaa! Landing at Amakusa Airport is nerve-wracking because the runway is short😅 Mizoca turns right and flies along the runway without climbing. It appears to be a circling approach rather than a go-around. As Mizoca approaches the runway, she veers to the right and circles around to the opposite runway. This is a circling approach that can rarely be seen at Osaka Itami Airport. A circling approach circles closer to the runway than a visual approach. The sound of Mizoca roaring as it passes in front of me then disappears once again into the natural sounds of Amakusa. The re-enactment footage of the opening scene descending into Amakusa Airport was created based on this flight data. You can experience it from my perspective 😉 As Mizoca began to circle the other side of the runway, rain began to fall. The rain is hitting me and it hurts 😫 A circling approach can be carried out in conditions of lower visibility than a visual approach. This approach seems to be sometimes used at Amakusa Airport, where fog often occurs. Mizoca, just a little bit more! Don’t let the rain get you down! Uriaaaaa! The plane landed on runway 13, splashing water from its propellers! At the moment of landing, the plane changed from a flared position to one where it pressed its front landing gear against the runway 😲 Perhaps the plane quickly pressed its nose gear against the runway so it could stop on the short, slippery runway caused by the rain? I’m pretty good at it too, right? 😉 Wow, that was a great thing to see! Good job, pilot! 👍 Look! This is the hand-waving point! ⭐ Eh? Ah! I have both hands full trying to protect my camera from the rain😭 Well, goodbye~👋 Not using a rain hood because I wanted to capture the sounds of nature backfired…😭 See you next time! ⭐ Ahhh… What a shame 😣Thank you for your hard work, Mizoca! Mizoca departs for Osaka Itami Airport via Kumamoto. Once all passengers have boarded, the doors will be closed. Once Sender is informed that the door is closed, Mizoca finally move. At Sender’s signal, the number 2 propeller begins to rotate. An airplane’s engines and propellers are numbered sequentially from the port side, and are started from the starboard side. Next, the number 1 propeller also began to rotate. Kai and Haru are also working hard in the rain 😁 The rain started to get stronger so I took shelter inside the terminal. The Mizoca departed for its flight to Osaka Itami Airport via Kumamoto. I wonder if they came to see off their family who are going to Osaka? Airports are also places where memories of meetings and farewells come together. With all these different thoughts on board, the Mizoca taxis towards Runway 13. The plane is carrying a lot of different thoughts, so I hope you have a safe flight! 👍 While you wait for Mizoca to return from Osaka Itami Airport, take a look at what happened the previous day. Wow⭐ Looks comfortable! The reason for boarding the boat is, of course, the standard tourist destination in Amakusa! These are wild dolphins that live in Hayasaki Strait! This time the sea was calm so they swam slowly near the boat ⭐ This time we also encountered a baby dolphin! Even though it had rained the day before, the water wasn’t muddy so you could see the dolphins swimming in the sea ⭐ You can also see the dolphins coming up to the surface from the ocean. The dolphins were in a good mood and started to play pranks like this… 😁 The girls were sprayed with squirt by the dolphins. A dolphin appeared, slapping the water surface with its tail. It’s also getting the other dolphins involved… 😅 The humans enjoyed dolphin watching⭐ Next, I went to Sakitsu Church, a World Heritage Site. The church was built in 1934, but it has a long and dark history of persecution of Christians. The building is in a European Gothic style, but the roof is covered with Japanese tiles. The interior of the church is also unique, being one of the few in Japan to feature tatami mats. You can enter the church, but taking pictures is prohibited. The spire at the front is made of reinforced concrete, while the back part is made of wood, giving it an unusual structure. Under the Edo Shogunate’s policy of banning Christianity, this place was the site of the fumie ritual, a symbol of oppression. Even in such a place, I feel like the presence of the church is soothing to the soul. The church is located in a fishing village, so we were also comforted by the local stray cats ⭐ By the time Mizoca was returning from Osaka Itami Airport, Amakusa Airport was covered in fog… Mizoca, coming from Kumamoto, approaches Amakusa Airport in the fog. Around noon, heavy rain fell at Amakusa Airport, as if a bucket had been overturned. By 3 p.m. the rain had subsided, but intermittent rain had left the area shrouded in mist. After the go-around, Mizoca returns to the IRUKA point. The plane will wait in the air at IRUKA and attempt another approach to Amakusa Airport. I can’t see beyond the runway because of the thick fog. The airport staff also seem to be concerned and are waiting for Mizoca’s arrival. This is bad… If we can’t land, we won’t be able to go home today😥 It feels like the fog is getting thicker… The GSE engine has started. Mizoca will be arriving shortly. Ahhh… 😫 Mizoka has done a go-around! Mizo-chan passes over the runway and flies northwest. Ahh… Mizoca, who I was supposed to ride, is getting smaller and smaller…😭 I’ll try my best to come back! Foolish fog! 😫 Mizoca will make a go-around and pass over the airport on the same course as the first time. It seems the plane will head back to IRUKA point and circle around to wait. At IRUKA, the plane circled around for over ten minutes waiting for the weather to clear. However, the weather did not improve, the plane was low on fuel and returned to Kumamoto Airport…😭 Sorry everyone😭 When this happens, I have to take action too 😤 Just like when I came, I traveled overland on the Amakusa to Kumamoto and booked a hotel.
