Japan Karuizawa Day 2 ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต | Strolling Through Beautiful Gardens & Streets

hello This is Tariasen Park and Cross the bridge It’s arrived Admission is 900 yen for adults (excluding museum admission) The most famous Suikyuso in Tariasen It is said that this is the place that served as the motif for the Ghibli animation ‘When Marnie Was There’. Is it similar? Suikyuso, built in 1921 The original owner was the villa of the Mitsui family, one of Japan’s three major conglomerates. This is what it looks like inside The second floor is paid You can take a walk around Lake Shiozawa. The villa is visible from anywhere on the lake. It’s such a beautiful place that I really want to recommend it. Carp flocking to you just by looking at your hand Let’s try feeding it I’ve heard a lot Various vehicles are also available. a small island in the lake People taking pictures of the villa at the entrance From here, you can see the villa straight ahead. Suikyu-so is registered as a national tangible cultural property. A Western-style wooden mansion built in the style of a British country house, set in the Japanese mountain landscape. The gentle flower breeze is so nice There is a rose garden across the bridge. I guess they came here to take wedding photos because it’s such a pretty place. It was a while ago, but there were still roses left. There are people who enjoy cafes and meals. It was so pretty that I stayed longer than I thought. The next place we visited was This is Shigenoya You have to write down your name and wait. You can wait inside the car with a vibration bell. It is on the border between Gunma and Nagano prefectures. Here’s the peculiarity There is Kumano Kotai Shrine right across the street. I think it would be good to wait and go. This gentleman is also on the border of Duhyeon. It is said to be famous for travelers’ safety, longevity, relationships, and love luck. There is an old sacred tree called Shinanoki. It is said that if you walk around it once, your wish will come true. Do you see the little light? If you stand here on the heart and look at the sacred tree, I see a heart light It’s an interesting shrine with a unique location. Water fountain at the entrance When it touches water, letters appear After seeing the shrine It’s finally our turn Luckily, I got a seat on the terrace. Gunma Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture The boundary between the two lines is marked at the end of the railing. For reference, the bottom is a hole that shows the floor. On the way to the bathroom The faucet is made into a kettle, so cute. The soba I ordered has arrived. I was just going to use the cafe, but it got late so I ended up eating lunch too. This rice cake is the signature dish of this restaurant. We use glutinous rice from Nagano Prefecture. It is characterized by its soft and chewy texture due to its high moisture content. It was so delicious that I ordered the soybean paste flavor too. They say they pay attention to the ingredients and make and knead the dough every morning without any additives. It’s so delicious I can’t stop eating it. This is a restaurant I highly recommend because the atmosphere and taste are both great. Thank you for the good time Next stop This is Karuizawa Ginza Street. It’s the most famous shopping street in Karuizawa. A French bakery frequented by John Lennon It is said that Yoko Ono and I stayed at the Manpei Hotel in the summer. There are various shops lined up on both sides of the main street, which is about 700 meters long. Ghibli Shop, a must-visit tourist attraction There are a lot more character shops than before. Karuizawa’s famous mocha soft serve ice cream Soft ice cream made with coffee beans roasted directly by Mikado Coffee Karuizawa store opened in 1952 It is also famous as a cafe frequented by John Lennon and his wife. Bearded Man’s Store I’ve seen it in person before Thanks to the lush highland environment They say it’s popular because of its good quality. I really liked the quiet streets with not many people. I stopped by Truffle Bakery The main branch is said to be in Monzen-Nakacho, Tokyo. White truffle salt bread is the signature menu item. I was disappointed that the Nagano milk bread was sold out. Before coming home, I stopped by Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza. There are over 200 brands and stores. It’s a shopping mall, but it’s a resting space that feels like a resort in nature. It takes quite a while to see everything. This concludes our two-day, one-night trip to Karuizawa. Thank you for watching~
