Let’s take a look at the park guide map. Morioka Castle is a Hirayama castle with a Renkaku-style layout. From the bottom, it was divided into Sannomaru, Ninomaru, and Honmaru. Surrounding Honmaru was the Koshikuruwa (lower enclosure) and part of it, Awajimaru. Morioka Castle was built in 1598 by Nanbu Nobunao. Nanbu City relocated its base from Sannohe Castle and Kunohe Castle, and built the castle on land known as Kozukata. Kozukata was renamed Morioka, and Morioka Castle served as the Nanbu clan’s castle until it was abandoned in the Meiji era. 【Sannomaru】 【Ninomaru】 【Ishikawa Takuboku Poetry Monument】 【Ninomaru Well】 This is the Sannomaru stone wall as seen from Ninomaru. The red bridge comes into view. This is Tounkyo Bridge. It was originally a covered corridor bridge. We are walking towards the plaza. We walk through the moat. Ninomaru (second enclosure) is on the right and Honmaru (main enclosure) is on the left. Looking back, it looks like this. 【Hiko storehouse】 We will take a break here. This is Pairon Honten. First, a beer.
