Getting Around the Nakatsugawa Area by Bus | Gifu, Japan

The Nakatsugawa Area is a great place to visit if you are around Nagoya and have a few days to spare. While transport may not be the best if you are not driving, it’s definitely possible to take the public transport to get around the area.
This video is about how to take the local bus in the Nakatsugawa [中津川] Area, Gifu, Japan.

You may get to places like Magome, the Naegi Ruins, the Tsukechi Gorge, etc.

Google Maps was quite accurate for bus schedule and fare at the time I travelled to the area (September 2023). If you are a little worried and would like to make sure of the schedule ahead with the official sources, here are the links:

Only Japanese is available for the website, so below is some translations for what to look up for your planned destination:
– for Magome [馬籠]: Line M [馬籠線 Magome]
– for Naegi [苗木] and Tsukechi Gorge [付知峡]: Line T [付知峡線、加子母線]/ Line KB [加子母市民病院線]
– for Ena [恵那]: Line B [恵那線(市民病院)] / Line C [恵那線(手賀野)]

The buses were quite punctual so make sure you are always at least a few minutes early and wait for your bus to arrive.
