KOBE Kitano-Tor Road Hello. How are you all doing as autumn deepens? This time, I’m taking a stroll around Kobe’s Kitano & Tor Road area. I’ll be visiting many wonderful shops, so I hope you’ll enjoy it to the end. ☺ (This post summarizes the shops I visited over multiple days.) First, I’ll visit a patisserie that recently opened in the Kitano Ijinkan area! (I was invited to the pre-opening. ♡) Pâtisserie Consacré, whose flagship store is located in Kobe’s Nishi Ward, will open its new store on October 19th. The new store will feature Consacré’s signature plant cake, “BOTACA,” which resembles a real succulent, as well as a quarter-cut soft-boiled fromage, available exclusively for dine-in. This is “Hitotoki Brulee,” exclusive to the Kobe Kitano store. Choose your favorite cookie and cream. The delicious caramelized treats change color right before your eyes. Inside the delightful “Hitotoki” shop, there’s also a green-themed eat-in area. 🌿 The leaves are filled with white bean paste, and underneath is tiramisu. It’s not too sweet, but it’s delicious! The cheese is rich, but fluffy and light. This is also delicious! They also have souvenirs like baked goods and drip coffee, and it’s nice to see another tourist spot added to Kobe. Right next to Consacré are “Moegi no Yakata” and “Kazamidori no Yakata.” We decided to get some takeout “Hitotoki Brulee” and enjoy it here. The matcha flavor is delicious and highly recommended! Enjoy some sweet treats between sightseeing in Kitano. Why not try them out? ♡ Now, let’s take a stroll around the Kitano area. It’s a small building, about 3.3 square meters. Photography inside the shop was prohibited, but it sells works by artists selected by the owner. It’s a charming little shop, like something out of a picture book. Kitano has a stylish neighborhood. While we’re here, let’s stop by Starbucks in a former foreign-style building! ☕ Needless to say, it’s a hugely popular spot for sightseeing in Kitano. Housed in a Meiji-era Western-style building, the two-story building offers a timeless atmosphere no matter where you sit. It’s a beautiful, clear autumn day , so it’s time for lunch. We head to a Western-style restaurant on the east side of Tor Road near Kitano. The owner, Mr. Daito’s grandfather, was also a famous chef. Apparently, the restaurant is so popular that even regulars from his grandfather’s time frequent it. The crab cream croquette is so soft it’s hard to pick it up with chopsticks. The crab flavor fills your mouth! The hamburger steak oozes with juice— simple yet bursting with flavor. Ah, I already want to eat it again! ☺ So satisfied! It was delicious, thank you for the meal. Next, let’s stop by a popular bakery. The delicious aroma of fresh bread fills the air as we enter the stylish, single-family home . They mainly offer hard and savory breads. The staff will help you get the bread for you. This is a must-visit bakery in Kobe. I love it too! I can’t wait for you to come back. ☺ I’m back in the Kitano Ijinkan area. I dropped into a general goods store I’d been curious about. I thought it was a matryoshka doll store, but it also carries goods from various parts of Russia. The birch craft items…the delicacy and beauty of the handiwork shine through. The designs on the ceramics are also exuding an exotic atmosphere. It was a cute store, like being transported to a fairy tale. I also visited an antique shop on Kitanozaka. With the keyword “practical antiques,” they offer folk art and antiques that are easy to use in everyday life. They offer unpretentious antiques that can be used daily, and the prices are relatively reasonable. The charm of antiques is that they are “once in a lifetime.” It was a wonderful shop, where you could enjoy the feeling of treasure hunting. Next, we visited a lovely flower shop we stumbled upon during our stroll. The interior was so cute , with beautiful dried flowers and a stylish selection of fresh flowers. I fell in love with the dried flowers at first sight and had an autumn-colored bouquet made. Thank you for visiting! 💐 Next, we visited a bakery I’d been wanting to visit. This hugely popular bakery relocated from Oukai in Hyogo Ward. The bread is baked in the store’s open kitchen. It’s lined up on the counter table, and I couldn’t decide which one to choose. I ended up buying the recommended sliced ​​bread and a few savory breads. (The sliced ​​bread was simple yet delicious. 🍞) Finally, we decided to take a break at a cafe. About five minutes north of Motomachi Station, up a spiral staircase, we arrived at this hidden cafe. Like a ship waiting for a favorable wind before setting sail, this “wind-waiting cafe” serves specialty coffee and handmade baked goods. We enjoyed a relaxing time in the calming atmosphere.
